25.01.2022 The Dunkeld Consolidated School wants your Used Batteries! The Dunkeld Consolidated School Council has been conducting an ongoing Battery Collection Fundraiser.... Kelly’s Dunkeld have kindly offered to be a central collection point for used batteries for the Dunkeld Consolidated School (thank you to Jason Linskens who was instrumental in organising this). Any unwanted car, truck, tractor, boat batteries etc may be dropped off at Kelly’s Hardware Store, 101 Parker Street, Dunkeld. Components of used batteries e.g. metals, acids and plastics are reclaimed, recycled and put back into the manufacturing process to build more batteries and household products, 98% of the battery is recycled. If you cannot deliver to Kelly's or require any assistance with the pick-up of your used batteries, please contact Simon Ross on 0408 984 499. (Could you please send Simon a text message regarding arranging collection of any batteries and he will organise a date and time with you. Due to technical issues, some phone messages have been lost so could the relevant people please send a text message direct to Simon or alternatively, give him a call). Thank you for your support!

23.01.2022 Hello from Dunkeld Consolidated Kitchen Garden Program. Would any of you have the following that could be placed in the letterbox out the front of school before... 11am tomorrow (Thursday) This week our students have been learning about 'Always Was, Always Will Be' which recognises that First Nations people have occupied and cared for this continent for over 65,000 years. If you can help we would be very grateful. Kind regards Clare. *burl- made into a bowl or cup or plate. *small branch of lemon myrtle *warrigul greens *any other relevant food, plant, fruit, kitchen or gardening tool etc. that I have forgotten that we could share with our students. Please label any items with your name and contact number so that I can return at the end of our SAKG session tomorrow afternoon Thankyou.

20.01.2022 Thanks Edward Blackwell for this terrific drone footage!

18.01.2022 There’s been a lot happening at the school today, with our new building arriving! Site work has been happening for a few weeks now, including the demolition of our old hall. Today the new building arrived in three sections by truck and was craned into place. It certainly was a sight to see and was met with great excitement from our students. I’m sure they will be full of eager information to share tonight! The building will now be finished off over the next 6 weeks or so and... hopefully be ready for use by end of November. We have plenty of photos and videos to share with the community and a special thank you to Edward Blackwell for bringing his drone in to capture the process. All digital imaging needs approval for sharing from the Victorian School Building Authority. So as soon as we have approval, we look forward to sharing with you all! An exciting start to Term 4! See more

17.01.2022 Today we asked some of our students some questions about their teachers. We’ll be sharing these over the coming week, starting here with Year 5/6 talking about Mrs Naomie Phillips. I think this one might make Mrs Phillips day

16.01.2022 A bit late sharing these photos and videos as we needed approval first. However we’d now love to share the progress of our new Permanent Modular Building. The featured photos/videos are from the day the building arrived and lots of works have been happening over the last few weeks. We look forward to sharing more progress shots over the coming weeks as the finishing touches are added. Thank you to Edward Blackwell for his drone shots and videos.

15.01.2022 WORLD TEACHERS DAY! Today Victoria celebrates World Teachers' Day! World Teachers' Day 2020 celebrates teachers with the theme 'Teachers: leading in crisis, reimagining the future'. This theme reflects the commitment teachers have made as leaders particularly teaching throughout the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic, in a range of environments. World Teachers' Day is a chance to recognise and celebrate the incredible contributions teachers have made in Victorian communities, as... they help to teach the future. I would like to personally thank and commend our Dunkeld Consolidated School teachers, as well as all other teachers worldwide on the phenomenal effort they not only give every year, but to this year especially. To have completely transformed the way in which we teach and do so in the professional manner undertaken, is something to be extremely proud of. The time and care our staff put into the planning and delivery for the best of all our students is forever inspiring. Our Education Support Staff do not go unrecognised either, as they are teachers in themselves also, providing an incredible amount of support to our students and staff. I am very fortunate to work with such a dedicated group of people. Please join me in celebrating our Teachers today. Please keep an eye on further Facebook posts today for some special tributes to our teachers. Thank you also to the wonderful parents who decorated our front fence and provided morning tea today too! We are very spoilt! Kind regards, Dee Gerring

13.01.2022 Thank you to all our teachers and all that you do ... we think that you are AMAZING!!! Thank you to our wonderful P & F Association members, and their children, who decorated the front fence of our school and provided all our staff with a delicious and delightful morning tea!

12.01.2022 Weather conditions were perfect for our Mini-Olympics and Outdoor Disco on 12 October 2020. The following countries were enthusiastically represented - Solomon Islands, Tonga, Kiribati and Vanuatu. (The students chose these countries as they had not had any reported cases of COVID-19.) House Captains’ Report by Grace, George, Lucy and Angus: On Monday 12 October, the four Sports Captains, organised a Mini-Olympics. First we had rotations around the oval with games like the sack race, flags and one of our favourite events, the dress-up relay. In the afternoon the Year 3 to 6 students played four games of soccer. In the end, Tonga took the victory and everyone had a blast!
