25.01.2022 Measles Outbreaks in Brisbane Do you think you have measles? The symptoms are: > a very high temperature > sore, red eyes... > A cough and runny nose > and / or a widespread red rash. If you have these symptoms contact the medical centre. Please do not walk in without contacting us first so that appropriate isolation process can be followed as we do often have many young and new born children in our waiting rooms. See more

21.01.2022 FLU VACCINES ARE IN - CALL THE CLINIC ON 3372 4577 FOR APPT. PLEASE DO NOT BOOK YOUR FLU VACCINE VIA ONLINE BOOKING AS THE NURSES TIME NEEDS TO BE SCHEDULED.

21.01.2022 Here’s an awesome way to help your kids understand why we need to wash our hands.

21.01.2022 ** Dental appointments available next week - give us a call on 3372 7577 to secure an appointment! **

19.01.2022 IMPORTANT NOTICE Over the last 24 hours our telephone lines have been taking a massive number of phone calls. This may mean that you may not get through first try. Please persevere and ring again as you will eventually get through. PLEASE DO NOT COME DOWN TO THE CLINIC WITHOUT CALLING AHEAD TO ARRANGE YOUR VISIT - YOU WILL BE ASKED TO LEAVE.

19.01.2022 We are currently switching all phone lines to nbn. We are experiencing some down time with our phones as part of the process. Please be patient with us as we work through this process. Our technicians are working around the clock to get services back to normal as soon as possible.

18.01.2022 Last week we took our 6 week old daughter to Durack for her immunizations. After the passing of Michael we struggled to find a doctor who we felt was right for ...our family. Dr Doug Morison was the doctor we saw that day.. and Im so pleased we did. Very proffessional, thorough and understanding. The Atmosphere of Durack Medical Centre is beginning to feel warm again ... everyone is at loss with Michael no longer here but his legacy is shining brighter then ever! Very happy and satisfied with our visit on Wednesday! Future doctor visits will be with the amazing team at Durack Medical Centre. See more

17.01.2022 Due to ongoing troubleshooting to resolve NBN problems we have changed our phone system. You will no longer need to dial 1 for medical or 2 for dental, your call will go straight through without having to press anything. We thank you all for your patience and understanding whilst we have been experiencing phone issues. Thanks

17.01.2022 Cheers to Friday

16.01.2022 Team DMC and the Tawil family would like wish you a happy and healthy 2019! Thank you all for being part of our community and choosing us to look after your medical and dental health! We look forward to an awesome year ahead!

16.01.2022 HELP YOUR HEART - BRUSH YOUR TEETH! Previous research has suggested that poor oral hygiene leads to bacteria in the blood, causing inflammation in the body. Inflammation increases the risks of atrial fibrillation (irregular heartbeat) and heart failure (the hearts ability to pump blood is impaired). Seeing a dentist for regular routine checkups and cleans is a benefit to your whole health.

15.01.2022 Hi everyone, unfortunately online bookings is currently experiencing technical issues. Our IT team is working hard at getting it back up and running. In the mean time I'm afraid, you'll have to make bookings the old fashioned way and give us a call. Thanks for understanding.

15.01.2022 Good afternoon team DMC, Friday 12/04 we will be memorialising the passing of Dr Michael Tawil 3 years ago & we will be giving out roses to patients.

15.01.2022 The Queen has decided to take a holiday on Monday and she says all of Qld can too. Therefore Durack Medical Centre won't be open on Monday 7th October. Everyone have a safe and fun day off.

15.01.2022 WE ARE CURRENTLY EXPERIENCING A HIGH DEMAND FOR APPOINTMENTS. IF GIVEN ENOUGH NOTICE WE CAN FILL OUT WAIT LISTS. WE EARNESTLY ASK THAT ALL PATIENTS WHO ARE NOT ABLE TO ATTEND THEIR APPOINTMENTS CALL US IN A TIMELY MANNER TO CANCEL SO THAT WE CAN OFFER THAT TIME TO OTHER PATIENTS. MOST DAYS OUR NUMBER OF NO SHOW BOOKINGS IS EQUAL TO THE NUMBER OF PATIENTS WAITING FOR AN APPOINTMENT. INDEED A SAD WASTE.

15.01.2022 We recommend patients review the attached list of locations and times and if they have been in any of those locations at those times to please be conscious to monitor themselves for any symptoms. If they do start to develop any symptoms to stay at home and contact the practice by phone. Thankyou

14.01.2022 EASTER WEEKEND HOURS Friday 10th April - Closed Saturday 11th April - Open 8am - 11.30am Sunday 12th April - Closed Monday 13th April - Closed

12.01.2022 Hi everyone, There will not be a medical clinic this Saturday 3rd or Sunday 4th Nov. due to doctors being on leave. Dental will be open for it's usual Saturday morning session.

11.01.2022 Durack Medical Centre will not be open on Sunday 17th March as all our Doctors are on a training event. There are still appointments available for Saturday 16th March with Dr Kathy.

11.01.2022 Hi Parents, kids are back to school soon. Don't forget if your child has asthma or is on medication the school will require an asthma action plan or a doctors letter confirming the medication needs. Don't leave it to the last minute to book as appointments are currently booking out fast.

10.01.2022 So holiday time is here! Durack Medical Centre will be closed for Wednesday 25th + Thursday 26th December, then back to normal schedule for the rest of the week.

09.01.2022 IMPORTANT ALERT Due to strict triage processes now in place across all medical centres the online booking options have been switched off until further notice. All appointment enquiries will need to be by telephone. Staff will be asking more then usual triage questions. Phone consultations are being implemented to help with case loads and to better manage potential infection risks. The unprecedented virus event means that the way we process patients through the practice will be different to usual. We ask all patients to please work with us proactively during this time.

08.01.2022 Heres an awesome way to help your kids understand why we need to wash our hands.

07.01.2022 Good news everyone...... Dental is fully back up and running after the COVID restrictions.

05.01.2022 We had an adorable visitor today #TeamDMC mascot

03.01.2022 MEASLES ALERT FOR BRISBANE'S SOUTH There have now been 15 confirmed cases of measles in Brisbane's South. Individuals likely to be infectious have visited... multiple locations in the community since 15 October 2019. A comprehensive list of alert locations can be found on the Queensland Health, health alerts website: https://www.health.qld.gov.au/news-ev/health-alerts/measles Due to the ongoing increased measles transmission in New Zealand, Samoa, surrounding countries and elsewhere overseas, it is particularly important for travellers who are not immune or unsure to get vaccinated before leaving Australia. Members of the public who were in these areas, on these dates, need to be alert for symptoms of measles over the next three weeks. The initial symptoms can include fever, lethargy, runny nose, moist cough and sore red eyes. This is followed a few days later by a blotchy, red rash which often starts on the face and then becomes widespread over the body. If you have any of the measles symptoms contact your GP it is VERY important to call the medical practice first if you think you might have measles, so that staff can take precautions to avoid spreading it to others. Anyone born after 1965 who was in these areas and who has not been fully vaccinated against measles (two doses of MMR) should contact their GP. For more information about the measles virus call 13 HEALTH (13 43 25 84). (Note: image is not of the diagnosed patients - this is merely the best image to show one of the symptoms).

03.01.2022 IMPORTANT NOTICE Until further notice we will not be running a Sunday session. Because of increased demand put on the clinic by Covid-19 our Doctors are working harder and longer then ever. In order to avoid them burning out it has been decided that we will not run a Sunday session in order to give our Doctors at least some time to recover and rest in order to continue on the following weeks. We know that all our Patients will appreciate that the health and well being of our Doctors and Staff is very important during these unprecedented events.

01.01.2022 UPDATE Phones are now back up and running. There may still be small pockets of time where calls might be affected. If this happens please just wait a couple of minutes and try again. We thank everyone for their patience in regard to this.

01.01.2022 Hi everyone, there won't be a Sunday session this Sunday 10th November. Thanks
