Crews have been actively working along the Kings Highway putting in a backburn to establish con...tainment on the southern side of the fire. Today crews will be burning along the western side of the River Road to complete the containment of this section of fire. The Kings Highway remains closed and will remain so until crews can confirm it is safe to reopen. See more

17.01.2022 Some more footage of the current devastation from this morning. The current weather conditions have escalated the ALERT LEVEL back up to EMERGENCY WARNING. Praying for both North & South Durras and all the surrounding areas, especially the RFS working so hard to protect everyone and everything
16.01.2022 While the Princes Highway was finally opened yesterday, the roads out to NORTH DURRAS ( Mount Agony & Durras Road) remain CLOSED. It is still just far to dangerous so please don’t attempt coming out this way yet. I will update & let you know when it is opened & safe to do so.
13.01.2022 SOUTH COAST OPEN FOR BUSINESS Emergency Services and infrastructure services have been working hard to ensure many areas of the South Coast can re-open. After ...assessments held today, it has been decided that visitors may now return to areas of the Shoalhaven and South Coast. However, areas that were heavily impacted by the fires remain accessible to local residents only. People wishing to take advantage of the tourist areas are strongly encouraged to contact their destination/accommodation providers before setting off. You should always check your route is clear by monitoring Live Traffic NSW and be aware that roads may be closed at short notice. A number fires remain active to the west of the Princes Highway and it is important to keep your self up to date with the situation by checking the NSW RFS website or Fires Near Me app. National Parks will remain closed in the area until 1st February 2020. If you are visiting the area, enjoy your stay. This is and remains a beautiful area of NSW.

08.01.2022 Just when we thought it was almost over, last night my brothers, partner and a good friend of mine Josh Burkinshaw went back out to Durras to help dad as the fire was set to approach again (this time on the other side of our park not yet affected). Devastatingly, the whole of North Durras has now been completely burnt to the ground I’m so grateful that everyone is safe and the caravan parks and houses out there have been spared but absolutely devastated about what has hap...pened. These images below were taken by Josh...amazing shots but absolutely heartbreaking to look at My thoughts and prayers remain with RFS who are continuing to battle these nasty fires, the surrounding suburbs and the devastation they too are experiencing...
07.01.2022 Great news for Durras Beach North Tourist Park and our customers! WE WILL RE-OPEN FOR BUSINESS ON MONDAY 1ST JUNE 2020! As announced by the Premier and Deputy Premier earlier this week, the NSW Government has confirmed that NSW residents will be able to take a holiday anywhere in NSW from next month, with intrastate travel restrictions to be lifted from Monday 1 June 2020. Travellers from interstate will also be able to visit NSW for a holiday from 1 June but will need to com...ply with the rules of their home state when returning. We are so happy to be able to re-open back up for our guests to visit and utilise our services after what has been such a difficult time for everyone. A much-needed break for some is exactly what is needed! However, while we cannot wait to have you all back, we would like to stress how important it is for everyone to please continue to follow the advice from the government and health professionals. Please continue to practice good hygiene and physical distancing measures whilst visiting, as the last thing we would want is further outbreaks that would force us to close again and restrictions re-introduced on travel. Finally, we ask if you are not feeling well or are showing any signs or symptoms, PLEASE STAY HOME and seek medical advice immediately. We are all in this together and need to have consideration for others around us. We look forward to seeing you all back in the park very soon.
03.01.2022 Just when we thought the fires were being kept at bay, they came back with vengeance and our beautiful town has been devastated. So many homes and businesses have been lost & affected, it’s just absolutely heart breaking. There really are no words that can describe the horrific devastation that has occurred. Advice is to leave now as we are still under serious threat in the coming days. Please stay safe everyone My thoughts and prayers are with everyone & their families, including mine, and especially the RFS. May their be some sort of relief in the coming days.
02.01.2022 More great news for those coming from Canberra way
