18.01.2022 Heavy, electronic sliding gates are commonly used on constructions sites and other workplaces, for site security. Opening and closing of these heavy gates manua...lly, has led to fatal and serious injuries when the gates have moved off their sliding tracks, landing on workers. If you use sliding gates at your workplace, ensure that: they are regularly serviced and maintained, including components like stoppers, tracks and support posts if the motor mechanism is not operating, ensure the gate is secured open or closed, sign posted and not operated manually. In addition to injury, manual operation can cause wear and tear on safety components (eg stoppers) all installation, servicing and repairs are done regularly, by a competent person For more safety advice, refer to the manufacturers guidelines.
