25.01.2022 We have a group of unsung heroes within our Duyfken volunteers. They are the ones who stay with the ship during all types of weather. They turn up every week or when they are rostered. They make sure the Little Dove is secure and safe. They appreciate the quietness, tranquility (sometimes) and peacefulness of being on board. These are our fearless and intrepid ship keepers. We would like to acknowledge and thank ALL the ship keepers who have looked after Duyfken since her return to WA in 2012.

23.01.2022 The million-dollar question when is Duyfken leaving WA? We just had word that the cargo ship has left Mauritius and is estimated to arrive in Fremantle around December 3rd or 4th. If all goes to plan, Duyfken will be lifted, loaded and depart Fremantle on December 4th or 5th for Newcastle, arriving around December 13th or 14th. Stay tuned! 18.01.2022 The South of Perth Yacht Club pennant, presented to the Foundation, flying proudly on Duyfken’s mast during her sail on 25th October. For the last three years, the Club was Duyfken’s summer berth where she conducted her twilight sails from. A huge thank you to the Club for graciously hosting us and providing fantastic support.

08.01.2022 Containers loaded and ready to transfer Duyfken’s items to Sydney. A mammoth task taking over a month to finish. A BIG thank you to our volunteers who answered our call-out to help. Couldn’t have done this without you.

04.01.2022 What a difference the weather is today (rain and 18C) compared to last Sunday (hot and 37C) when Duyfken sailed one more time on WA waters before going East. Dolphins came by to say ‘goodbye’. Drone photo courtesy of our volunteer, Jim.

04.01.2022 Duyfken’s masts were lifted and the cannons came off the ship in readiness for her move to Sydney by ship as deck cargo. Now, we wait for confirmation of a departure date.
