10.01.2022 Timely article! Never understood why SAI regulations costs were so high as to make it prohibitive for small firms and sole traders to access. YES! make it freely available and see quality of all buildings improve to the highest standards of construction, and making safer buildings too! https://www2.deloitte.com//ar/get-out-of-your-own-way.html

10.01.2022 LECTURE REVIEW: 9th, September 2019 - Lecture 6 ZAHA HADID - ARCHITECTURAL SUPERSTAR. Presented by - Mr. Colin Davies, Arts Society Lecturer Colin Davies took us inside the life and work of this extraordinary, talented and very gifted Iraqi-British architect who became the first Arab woman to receive the prestigious Pritzker Architecture Prize. Her presentations to clients were expressive designs marked by sweeping fluid forms of multiple perspective points in many beautifu...l paintings of her vision for their projects. Colin is a speaker who knows his subject well and is passionate about it. Explaining in several isims the wide range of architectural styles that led us through the ages to Zaha Hadid herself. Although her notoriety as an Architect, who only designed but never built anything, was a roadblock to full recognition of her genius in the latter part of her life and career (deceased to early in 2016, aged 65) her firm finally delivered stunning buildings with the arrival of (Sr. Partner) Patrik Schumacher. Her first building was the wonderful gem, Vitra Fire Station, Weil am Rhein, Germany (1993), including the iconic Heydar Aliyev Center, Baku (2013) and finally Daxing Airport in Beijing which opens September 2019. Also an educator, she held the Sullivan Chair professorship at the University of Illinois at Chicagos School of Architecture in the 1990s. And was a guest professor at various institutions through the years. All this before her fame as an Architect! Zaha Hadids life and body of work was eloquently delivered via excellent presentation materials and Colin Davies acquaintance with this Superstar! See more
