24.01.2022 It's taken all year, but FlexiTennis 2020 has finally kicked off, with Round 1 being completed this week. CC had his game face on, defeating CW 9-1, as did MH over JJ. Competition was a bit tighter between MB & CT, with MB eventually taking it out 9-7. Absolutely wonderful to see the adults out on court battling it out again. Bring on round 2!

20.01.2022 Theres light at the end of the tunnel and were returning to our home courts at MBC on 25 May 2020! Unfortunately due to AIS tennis restrictions on group sizes, we wont be doing any group lessons for the remainder of term, but are now taking bookings for one-on-one private lessons. Get in quickly. Wed like to take this opportunity to thank you for your patience, support and cooperation over the last couple of months. 19.01.2022 FlexiTennis Round 2 has wrapped up with the following close matches being played: CW def AS 9-3, MB def MH 9-7, and CC def JJ 9-4. Hopefully the only battles for Round 3 will be on court, and not storm-related.

19.01.2022 COVID-19 update. With the pandemic restrictions slowly lifting we are optimistic at a return to coaching at MBC and MBBC in the very near future. The college leadership team are meeting to discuss outside provider services and we will know more shortly. We hope that all our valued customers have kept safe and well over this time and look forward to getting back into it soon. 19.01.2022 The latest contender in the Isolation Cup tried his luck for Round 5 today. Unfortunately, despite a strong start, the net-rushing Barefoot Bandit succumbed to AOs attempts to manoeuvre, tube, lob (yes, it was attempted) and hit the red bin (its on the line). AOs reign remains 1-4; 4-3; 4-3; 4-2. Twas an epic battle with James Squire providing the drinks breaks elixir. 17.01.2022 Round 4 of the ISO Cup saw a tight couple of games before GO lost the plot smacking a ball next door into the drooling mouth of the neighbours dog. A timely rain delay saw a hasty scuttle for the white wine and a sit down on the naughty porch. 4-2 to AO first set.

17.01.2022 It looks like more storms are coming today so all 3pm classes may be undercover. Pick up will be from outside the Waller Centre entrance for 3.30 and 4pm finishing classes.

15.01.2022 In 2019 Dynamic Tennis player Jovana Petrovic had a great year. Representing QLD in the Bruce Cup, winning the QLD State Age, Miami Age, UQ Sport Age and Glen Iris Cup in Melbourne. She was also a runner up in another five tournaments. As a result, Jovana was selected to play on Pat Rather Arena between matches in the ATP Cup and was asked to flip the coin for a Brisbane International doubles match featuring Qlds own world number one Ashleigh Barty. Interestingly, Jovana is now taller than Ashleigh!!

15.01.2022 The sun sets on an AO 4-2; 4-2; 4-2 win this afternoon. Some aggressive GO net rushing tactics created problems along with the AO rapid G&T ingestion handicap prior to start. GOs dummy spit and the drooling dog was a factor however and more focus is needed on the avoidance of such negativity. Until next time.....

13.01.2022 3.30 lessons will start in media room F3 opposite the Waller Centre entrance. We will endeavour to get on court as soon as we can after this light rain stops.

12.01.2022 Storms predicted this afternoon but until the rain actually starts hitting the ground, we won't be cancelling classes. All 3pm and 3.30pm classes will proceed as scheduled with as much on-court time as possible. If we're not at the courts at pickup, we can be found at the Waller Centre/media rooms (MBC) or undercover area near the Yr1 classrooms (MBBC). 12.01.2022 As FlexiTennis Round 3 wraps up, the competition is fierce. CW def CT 9-6, CC delivered over AS 9-2, and MB continued her winning streak defeating JJ 9-4. Yep, this comp is hotter than the current weather! Keep it up champs!

10.01.2022 Oh, how quickly the mighty fall. Could it be the new tactics were too obvious? Perhaps the starting G&T didnt have enough clout? Or, did AO have a point to make? Regardless, a very quick Round 7 was had today with AO back on top in straight sets over GO 4-2; 4-2; 4-2. In GOs defence, the volleys that went in 2 days ago didnt today. 09.01.2022 The isolation cup travelled to the brickyard today so Mark the barefoot netrusher could plot his revenge. His refined arena complete with lines and tiny dimensions proved to be a big challenge. Home court advantage proved key in a 0-4; 2-4; 4-0; 4-2; 4-3 win. An on the line winner on sudden death in the deciding tie breaker was the difference in the end. Great laughs and awesome fun.

07.01.2022 With the relaxation of social distancing rules, the Isolation Cup has also expanded to include the 4171 postcode. "Jon Crackenthrow", who some of our clients may remember from our MBC Wimbledon Slam, guest-starred in todays round. Unfortunately, like Samson, without his wig & headband, Jonnos powers were not enough to bring down the reigning champion, AO. Despite slicing dicing and the occasional tactical "tubing" Jonno came up short. There was nearly a 23" racquet launching over the road but it was aborted due to low light. The yellow bin/red bin rule proved a decisive factor in the end despite Jonno bringing some Kyrgios serving flair to the court. Even lobs off the overhead power lines couldnt stem the tide. 05.01.2022 Deeply saddened to hear of the passing of so many tennis greats this week. Max Collins finished his coaching career with us at MBC and was such a courageous role model. And today we hear of Wayne Hannahs passing in Townsville. Had some great battles with Wayne (pictured) and he was a tremendously passionate man and good friend. DT pass on our condolences to the families of these wonderful people. Rest in Peace

05.01.2022 I love this targeting and accuracy drill for serving. The complete serving pattern takes 16 serves and gives a first and second serve combination to every target. Taking note of when you score both serves into the correct spots also indicates more favoured patterns that the player can go to under pressure. It also highlights what needs improving.
