19.01.2022 An excellent short article by Bill Hansberry.

18.01.2022 Segmenting cards are a great way to help with spelling - especially the tricky initial and end blends. Free downloadable ones are available from https://www.sparklebox.co.uk/5931-5940/sb5932.html

17.01.2022 This has been on several pages - a great short film!

16.01.2022 Wordshark 5 offers great game based activities for reading, spelling and segmenting. It has a massive built in list of progams but you can also put in your own word lists!

16.01.2022 Free MSL tutoring! A trainee MSL client of mine is looking for children to participate in teaching sessions for her course. They must be willing to be filmed so sessions can be sent off for review by an assessor. Ideally based in Greystaynes area or be willing to travel! Please email me at [email protected] for more information!

16.01.2022 If anyone has sent me a PM could you please either text on 0426287272 or email me at [email protected] as my message box is not currently working on facebook.

11.01.2022 I was lucky enough to have Wendy Goldup as one of my lecturers when I was studying many years ago. This article which was published in the Dyslexia Review is a great way of explaining morphology!

11.01.2022 Wikki Stix - They're waxy sticks that stick to most surfaces and are completely re-usuable! Another one of my fav ways to teach the tricky rules such as the 'dge' rule.

10.01.2022 Huge thanks to Adam at Hired Gun for his awesome photos for the new website!

10.01.2022 Reading Cards are such an important element to lessons. Regular rehearsal helps to improve rapid recall and automaticity when reading!

10.01.2022 Looking for a holiday workshop in October? Antonia Canaris runs Neurosensory based in Kingsgrove and runs great workshops for kids!

09.01.2022 Love teaching the 'wa' rule as I get to play my favourite game - "Swat the wasp!" And get to read "Wally the wasp!"

09.01.2022 Dyslexia NSW is a Registered Covid Safe Business.

08.01.2022 A great course offered by SPELD for those interested in helping children with writing.

07.01.2022 Finding suitable decodable readers for older children can be challenging. Check out The Teen and Adult Phonics Library with great decodable readers with age appropriate content for older struggling readers. www.focusontap.com

06.01.2022 The Phonics Check is a good start but we need to also focus on the intervention afterwards!

06.01.2022 Anh Do's books are popular with so many kids. Wolf Girl Books have been a big hit!

05.01.2022 Payload - Read the job card, follow the instructions, complete the job and get the cash! A fun way to finish off the term! The great thing about this game is it has decodable job cards at twelve levels so players of different abilities can compete against each other! www.riprap.com.au

05.01.2022 That is MSL tutoring all finished for 2020! It has been a crazy year but all my students have been amazing! Super proud of them all for their determination and perseverance through everything!

05.01.2022 Finally a piece in the media about Dyslexia which is factual!

03.01.2022 Reading Doctor apps are some of my favourite because they are customisable. Dr Bartek Rajkowski is also a great speaker if you ever get the chance!

03.01.2022 Another great offer from Nessy!

02.01.2022 Pelmanism games are such a great way to re-inforce decoding skills. It does not matter if they are real words or not, but I like to ask my students what they might be if they were real words. Today E decided: Streck - when you go to stretch and you can't be bothered!... Sluck - when you crouch and duck at the same time! Free pelmanism games will be available for download on the new website soon!

02.01.2022 This is a great little series of non-fiction books from Dyslexia Friendly publisher Barrington Stoke. They are ideal for readers who are ready to transition from phonically decodable books to less structured books!

02.01.2022 Some serious concentration with spelling Jenga!
