21.01.2022 Ah ha. I spotted the Loch Eagle Monster today. He was swimming across the dam.

21.01.2022 These photos are a bit unusual on two counts: Firstly; It’s unusual to see a pair of Crimson Rosellas at Eagle Dell - we usually get Adelaide Rosellas. Secondly; It’s also unusual for a pair of parrots to be laying claim to a nesting box at this time of the year. Lots of ‘posturing’ by the male is taking place here.

21.01.2022 Eagle Dell will remain closed until at least the end of July. For those hoping to camp at Eagle Dell, in coming months, please be aware that we will be closed until at least the end of July while I undergo surgery and the associated recovery period. As indicated earlier, this year held no certainties for us, and we’ll do our best to allow you to join us as soon as possible. Our building program, urgent health issues, and the dry season, have conspired against us.... Hope to see you in the Spring period - fingers crossed.

20.01.2022 One of these images was taken at Eagle Dell, the other in Munich, but both on the same night and with exactly the same type of camera. I wonder if you can tell which is which? And; Ask yourself why are they different?

20.01.2022 The Easter Lillies are blooming. Autumn is on its way. A bit earlier than usual, I would think, but I can’t be sure without ongoing records.

18.01.2022 Here’s how many spiders I found in this small area. Can you see any more?

17.01.2022 I took a few minutes out of my day to take some photos of this very placid and extremely fat Sleepy Lizard. It’s easy to see why some call them Pinecone Lizard. He has cute little front legs- don’t you think?

14.01.2022 The spiders were out in numbers last night. If you’ve been on a spider Walk with me you should be able to pick a few out in this photo. How many can you see?

13.01.2022 Sometime last night the water returned to my section of Currency Creek, fantastic, but I don’t reckon it’ll last long. I checked last thing yesterday arvo and it was as ‘dry as a bone’. This morning every pool was full with a nice flow going over the crossing. I was running very short of water, for my trees, so was pleased to be able to fill my water cart and to give half a dozen a real good drink.

12.01.2022 Looking into the eye of the serpent. Meet Joe, as in ‘Joe Blake’ the snake. He’s about 1m long and lives at my dam. I can find him sunning himself, to warm up, on most days that I go looking for him. He’s a Red Bellied Black and although a bite will make you very crook nobody has died from a bite inflicted by this species.... He’s very obliging and stays very still while I grab some photos. It’s a pity I didn’t capture his flicking tongue as he tasted the air to see if I was ‘food’ or ‘danger’.

12.01.2022 ‘Joe Brown’ was out to greet us as we drove into Eagle Dell this afternoon. He was very slow and obviously unhurried by the presence of my Ute. I haven’t seen ‘Joe Black’ for a few days - but I haven’t gone looking for him either. I’m sure he’ll be sunning himself somewhere by the dam.
