25.01.2022 Planting, gardening and insect discovery has been an interest the children have had for months. This is an area that will evolve with planting seeds on cotton wool and plant carrot tops to see just what may happen!!

22.01.2022 Pre-writing skills where children can strengthen their hand muscles, explore words, shape and letters are essential for them to be successful at handwriting. These are the fundamental skills children need to develop before they are able to write. Pre writing skills for a preschooler are skills that contribute to the child's ability to hold and use a pencil. The ability to draw, write, copy, and colour are all skills required for school. I’m excited to watch the children engage in this learning space tomorrow and watch the the children explore, and develop the skill of handwriting over time.

21.01.2022 Exciting news this week.......... 4 year old funded Kindergarten will be fully subsided in 2021! Ensure you registered with LMPA. Only limited spaces left for 2021.

18.01.2022 Home corner changes often with the children’s interests. The children have been talking and role playing with the theme of pirates. We have extended their interest by turning homecorner into a pirate area. Watch this space as it evolves with the children’s ideas and discoveries!

16.01.2022 We are starting to introduce children to loose parts and encouraging children to use their imagination, wonder and supporting their discoveries with using playdough and loose parts!! The children have made some amazing creations

14.01.2022 Today the children harvested our potatoes we have have been watching grow for Months. The children were so excited. Can’t wait to grow them again next year!

11.01.2022 Covid 19 is face us with many challenges............... back to remote learning for many of our children! The children’s learning is continuing both at home and at kindergarten. Children who are home are hand delivered learning packs once a fortnight!

11.01.2022 Today children were exploring using light when drawing and painting. Preschool children need to experience different art mediums to assist with learning how the world works around them. Exploration of light and shadow assist with discovery, wonder and allowing elements of sensory play for children.

Huge shout out to Kathryn from Eaglehawk Preschool who took our Smiles4Miles campaign to promote good oral health and healthy eating to a new leve...l with a Facebook virtual cooking demonstration for families on how to make vegetable soup and muffin pizzas. 09.01.2022 During the afternoon the children engage in developmental learning groups based on the children’s needs and interests. The children are placed in small groups with an educator where intentional teaching occurs. We work on skills required for school such as cutting, developing children’s hand strength, name identification, working together, taking turns to construct a floor puzzle or build amazing block buildings. Here is a snap shot of some of this weeks activities!

04.01.2022 Christmas cheer has begun at Eaglehawk today! The children quickly mastered the staplers and were pumping out chains quickly. Our classroom is beginning to look a lot like Christmas

02.01.2022 Term 3 we are focusing on name recognition. Each day the children come to kindergarten they will add their name to our belonging tree. Finding their names can always be a bit of a challenge!

01.01.2022 Zones of Regulation assists children to learn their emotions through using colours to explain their emotions. This activity is a perfect way to reinforce teaching children about their emotions!
