24.01.2022 Off to Richmond with OTB Spatial to have a chat about the use of drones in pest management programs. 0400 start for an 1100km day trip, refreshing hot tea is my friend right now.
22.01.2022 so we noticed a light in the scrub while driving, we thought it seemed a bit odd so we turned the car around to find this, the gentleman had swerved to avoid a cow on road, taking an unplanned detour into a creek line. I'm happy to say that the driver is ok , we gave him a lift home to charters towers and have continued on the trip. drive safe friends, and watch out for those cows.
21.01.2022 What a massive few months. Work has kept me very busy and away from home, but we are back in time for this phenomenal amount or rain Townsville has been receiving. Its crazy to think that this time last year the dam was at 12%... and now its over 140% Remember to stay out of flooded waters, you never know what lays below the surface, or how powerful the current could be, its not worth the risk!!... Stay safe North Queensland!
17.01.2022 Ovens hot and cooking again, we are in Rosales today on the corner of Halloran and Hodel st with free fresh pizza and cold water!! There is also hand wipes and some chairs. If you are down here cleaning up, a home owner, or know of anyone in the area please come down and grab a slice on us.... (a slice or 2 May have been sampled already, for quality control of course )
16.01.2022 Welcome to Eagle UAV, meet the fleet! Stay tuned for what I am up to and where I will be flying :D It's only up from here and the sky's are the limits! (ok, no more drone puns, I promise ;) )
15.01.2022 New work bench up and running, has power, lighting, pleanty of hanging and draw space for tools and tablet holder so I can keep up to date on all my fav drone channels on YouTube.
12.01.2022 well after a 0330 wake up, helping a driver after an accident, over 10hrs in the car, about 1100km, some fancy flying and listening to and learning so very much about the pest problems face by centeral Queensland councils, I am home, what a day!! pic is taken on the way home, what a parting gift!
11.01.2022 G'day everyone, we'll be out in affected parts of Townsville tomorrow with the little pizza oven making some tasty food for the amazing work crews helping those who have suffered during this targic flooding. Thank you kindly to those who have donated to help us help those giving their best in the recovery efforts. The spirit of the north is strong and we'll get through this together. p.s. and before you ask, no, we will not be delivering pizza via drone
08.01.2022 I'm down at the vacant lot next to office works Townsville cooking up a feed of tasty pizza and handing out water for clean up crews. if you know anyone out helping the clean up effort please let them know to stop by for a slice and rehydration!!!
06.01.2022 Hello Everyone, First of all, thank you to clients and friends that have made enquiries about our safety, it's a beautiful thing and it's been a truly heart warming feeling. I would also like to let everyone know, that while this major flood event is creating some amazing potential for drone footage, you will not be seeing any from us for the next few days for a number of reasons.... 1. As professional operators, we have check lists and procedures to go through before each flight, including but not limited to, weather checks, and as yet, there has not been a moment where it has been safe to fly, even our biggest/powerful and weather worthy frames, let alone a hobbyist frame like a phantom or mavic, safety for those below is of upmost concern for us. 2. We are working on some custom payloads for use in the next few days, if and when the weather permits us, to aid in recovery efforts. 3. And most importantly, this is a major flood event, people have lost so much in these flooded areas, the last thing they want or need is having drones flying over their still flooded homes invading their privacy, capitalising on their losses. We are not going to be doing this for the sake of shameless self promotion. When we take to the sky again, we will be operating as per operating procedures and abiding by CASA regulations and respecting the privacy and losses people have endured in this horrible weather event. Stay safe (and dry if you can). Best wishes from the Eagle UAV team
03.01.2022 It's upsetting to see so many careless "drone operators" conducting flights in direct contradiction to CASA regulations, just to try and get their 5mins of social media fame. What is even more distressing is the increasing number of reports of potential interference to manned aircraft conducting relief efforts for the Townsville community.
02.01.2022 Loving the recent rain here in Townsville, but sure does make it hard to get work done. I popped up to the dam today to have a look, from 13% to over 80% in a few days, its a beautiful sight, though i think the little fella in this pic is a bit sad to have so many hidy holes in the dam face have been covered up.
02.01.2022 What a day, 107 slices of pizza devoured (I only ate 2 I sware!! ok... maybe 3), 5 cases of water given out, new freinds made, stories of heart ache shared and saw the most amazing community spirit. Thank you to the amazing volunteers and some local business kind enough to make a donation after eating some tasty slices, we are now stocked up again and will be out somewhere feeding the army of volunteers (and actual Army) tomorrow. I can not wait to fire up the oven for you al...l again. if you are out helping tomorrow, or know of some one suffering who might need a bite to eat, please keep an eye out for me, come say hi and I'll make you a slice. p.s. The pizza and water are donations to the wonderful clean up crews, it's my way of helping out and saying Thank you to those helping those in need
