09.01.2022 After a DEVASTATING year for members of our management team, Pachamama is dedicated to raising awareness of mental wellbeing across our Perth Hills community, w...ith a particular focus on our Pachamama children. Our first initiative - supporting the Blue Tree Project. Jayden Whyte (and his friend) played a practical joke on his father and painted a dead tree blue on his family farm in Mukinbudin in Western Australia. Tragically, years later, Jayden took his own life after being released from the hospital twice in one day - the second and final time being at 11pm. In honour of their deep love for Jayden, his two sisters started The Blue Tree Project to help spark difficult conversations and encourage people to speak up when battling mental health concerns. By spreading the blue paint and the message that "its OK to not be OK", we can help break down the stigma thats still largely attached to mental health. WE ARE STRONGER THAN WE BELIEVE, BRAVER THAN WE THINK AND LOVED MORE THAN WE KNOW! Pachamama is dedicated to this belief and the pursuit of strengthening our mental wellbeing. We are deeply grateful to Martin Jaine Sculptures for creating and donating this beautiful blue tree to our 2020 initiative.
