24.01.2022 Earlsfield Clydesdale Stud is on the move! Hopefully in early December, we will be moving EVERYTHING to our new property at Broxburn. Bear with us if we seem ...a bit quiet, but we have lots to sort through, and many, many loads to move. Meanwhile, we do have a few young stock available for sale. We just haven't had time to advertise them yet. We have a yearling colt (with stud potential), a yearling filly, a 2 year old gelding and and a 3 year old filly all available. Send us a pm if you would like any details, and we will get back to you as soon as we can! See more

24.01.2022 A few more photos from around Earlsfield, just because. Spring has definitely sprung

24.01.2022 I have been searching through photos lately, and these are my favourites......

23.01.2022 It was a very windy day on Sunday, and the wind blew these tarps under the fence

23.01.2022 Another photo from the Lawgi Heritage Day, showing Stan with some of his adoring fans. The kids love the "horses with the fluffy feet"

22.01.2022 Time to be with the horses has been scarce lately, but we made the time with visitors last weekend. We handled the yearlings, picked up Stan and Betty who were away being given some work under saddle, and later in the weekend, put Stan and Betty in harness for a lorry ride up the road.

20.01.2022 After a very busy and tiring few weeks, Earlsfield Clydesdale Stud has moved. There is still a couple of loads of farm equipment to come, but all the animals are now at our new property at Broxburn. The first big day saw 15 horses, 2 dogs and 4 cats all move at once. It wasn't easy, but we did it lol. A few days later, the remaining 12 horses made the trip. We are very pleased that all the animals handled the long trip very well, and have settled nicely.

20.01.2022 At the end of the 2018 foaling season, we have seven healthy, bouncing babies. The past few months were not without their disappointments and heartbreak, as this season has been for many horse breeders. These foals are all very quiet and have beautiful natures. In the coming months, the two colt foals and two of the fillies will be advertised for sale, along with one broodmare with the option of taking her filly foal at foot, one broodmare PTIF to Box Valley Banjo, and a 2 year old filly.

20.01.2022 Earlsfield Marvel (Marv) is a horse of many colours .....

20.01.2022 I know so many of us are in the same boat, but it never ceases to amaze me what rain can do. These photos are about 5 weeks and 80mm of rain apart.

18.01.2022 A few photos from this morning. It was a beautiful foggy morning, ending up in a lovely warm day. These are our weanlings, currently grazing some millet we planted and irrigated for them. The foggy morning meant very wet, grubby legs!

18.01.2022 Yesterday, we went to the Lawgi Heritage Day, which is a fundraising event held every year at the Lawgi Heritage Park. The weather was beautiful, and we had a lovely day working our horses and chatting. We took Stanley, Betty and Max. Max just went for the outing as he hadn't been off our property for about 6 years. He spent most of the day just soaking it all in, and finished off with a short long reining session, before heading home again.

11.01.2022 It has been a very hectic few days at Earlsfield. Saturday was the Allora show. We took Earlsfield Felicity (Flick) and Earlsfield Lady Lillian (Lil). We certainly kept the crowd entertained the first hour or so as the girls got used to the goings on at their first show. Amazingly, sideshow alley wasn't a problem. However, people riding past on their horses were! They had some time before their class and had settled by then. Flick took out Reserve Champion Heavy Horse, which was a great effort for her first show. Sunday we entertained some lovely friends for the morning, and on Tuesday my father brought out some friends of his to spend the morning "in the bush" and to have a look at the horses. We (and the horses) have had a very social few days!

11.01.2022 Gilligan and Marvel on the move ...... running late for dinner lol

10.01.2022 The colts were in for some pampering this week. Box Valley Sunnyboy, Benwerrin Zac and Earlsfield Avenger all had hoof trims and a bath followed by a quick photo shoot.

09.01.2022 Box Valley Sunnyboy and Benwerrin Zac having a play the other day when they were put out in the paddock.

06.01.2022 Today we took Earlsfield Felicity to the Pittsworth Show. There were six entries in the heavy horses which made the day more interesting. We had a great day with Flick winning Champion Heavy Horse. Many thanks to the Pittsworth Show Society for holding the heavy horse classes, and to our judge Trevor Kohler. #pittsworthshowsociety

06.01.2022 We took Flick (Earlsfield Felicity) to Clifton Show today. She was the only heavy horse, so we decided to wait and enter her for Supreme Led Mare to give her another class. It was well worth it, when the judges announced that Flick was the winner! Many thanks to Clifton Show, as well as Running Cool Feeds and Dynavyte for our prizes. #runningcoolfeeds #dynavyte

06.01.2022 Long weekends are a great time to catch up on jobs, and spend some time with the horses. The seven foals from last season were brought in for some training, as Dulcie will be heading to her new home soon, and Liam will be advertised for sale in the next couple of months. With the camera handy, I was able to get a few extra shots and videos as well.

04.01.2022 August proved to be an exceptionally busy month at Earlsfield, with the arrival of our first four foals. As always, we hoped for an uneventful foaling season, but it wasn't to be. We had several almost sleepless nights, and many anxious moments when one of the mares suffered serious complications post foaling. A couple of days later, one of the foals became very sick as well. However, we are very pleased to be able to say that they have all reached the four week mark and are going well now. Photos are a bit scarce, but I am hoping to get some better ones soon. I should add that all four foals are colts, and will probably be gelded and up for sale after weaning.

03.01.2022 We decided to give our yearlings some mud in preparation for a hoof trim. Our orphan Flick had a great time!
