25.01.2022 AIRCRETE DOME WORKSHOP BOOKED OUT IN MARCH: THE GOOD NEWS IS THAT YOU NOW HAVE THE CHANCE TO LEARN ON A COUNCIL APPROVED HOUSE BUILD! As we have people who mis...sed out and are on a waiting list we have decided to run a second event for 2021. More than half of our graduates are from Brisbane and the further north so this event will be on the Sunshine coast. EXCITING NEWS, if you have been following the progress of Aircrete in Australia we recently had a couple of our first graduates achieve a building approval through council. A first for Australia we believe!! This additional workshop will be held at the location of the council approved house construction. There is no better way to learn the skills to build your own structure than to be training live on a approved aircrete build. DOMEGIA orginated these techniques overseas and they are being used globally now. Syntropic Life Community is the only group in Australia running events where key team members have trained in Mexico and Hawaii with Hajjar the founder to bring home all the latest techniques, tips and information. The journey is just beginning so if you would like to book a place for this event the dates are the weekend of 1st - 2nd May. If you would like an information kit with all the relevant shoot us your email address and we'll get it out to you asap.

07.01.2022 Here is an old magazine article about rammed earth (or Pise de Terre as they called it then). The Macknights, Architects of Rutherglen in Northern Victoria. They were father who did lots of rammed earth and then his son who took over and did lots more. Do you own, or live in one of their homes, or even knew them?

05.01.2022 In 1963, while doing renovations on his home, a man broke through an exterior bedroom wall in his home and discovered a tunnel entrance. What he found behind th...at wall stunned historians, archeologists and the world. The lost ancient underground city of Derinkuyu had been discovered. A multilevel series of rooms, carved from the soft volcanic rock in the Cappadocia region of Turkey, Derinkuyu extends to a depth of over 200ft. Believed to have been constructed by the Phrygians, an Indo-European people originally from the Balkan region, it dates back to the 8th Century BCE. Capable of holding up to 20,000 people, Derinkuyu had rooms for food stores, livestock, schools, kitchens, living and sleeping quarters and sanitary facilities. Small tunnels carved up to the surface allowed ventilation throughout the city. Entrance tunnels were carefully hidden in the hills surrounding Derinkuyu and connected to the city. One of these tunnels were discovered in 1963 when workers removed the bedroom wall. It is believed the city was originally carved as an escape from marauding Arab armies in 9th Century BCE and continued over the next several hundred years. The city was used often as a refuge during the Byzantine Era of the 5th through the 10 Century CE. Artifacts from this period were found inside Derinkuyu. It was used up until the 14th Century as an escape for the Christian population against the Mongolian incursions of Timur. The Lost City of Derinkuyu....(Quoting from Casey Klein) See more
