01.01.2022 An opportunity to make a real and lasting difference to save our forests! The Bob Brown Foundation has launched The Great Forest Case, which aims to end native forest logging in Tasmania and potentially the rest of Australia. Tasmanias iconic wildlife including the Swift Parrot, Masked Owl, Tasmanian Wedge-tailed Eagle, Tasmanian Devil and Giant Freshwater Crayfish, is seriously under threat from native forest logging because of an outdated and inadequate agreement.... Their case will assert the Tasmanian Regional Forest Agreement is invalid, not legally enforceable and offers no guaranteed protection for our wildlife and environment. There are ten Regional Forest Agreements across Victoria, New South Wales, Western Australia and Tasmania which have allowed these states to log threatened species habitat for decades. This case is a wonderful chance to potentially end these outdated agreements once and for all! Earth Greetings have chipped in $1000 to The Great Forest Case.
