24.01.2022 Yuin language- As we walked on this amazing land one of the children said " let's talk Yuin words. Then we'll be happy" We walked along chanting all the words we knew "Gadu, billima, gnu, murriyira, cooprar, marrung, Gulaga, Nadjanugga, Barangubba, djunga, Yanga" "How do we say hello? How do we say thank you ?" She asked. It's so wonderful to be on this learning journey together. We will always remember this land we live, walk and play on " is, was and always will be traditional Yuin land".

14.01.2022 At Earth Play Family Daycare we like our sandpits big!!! Lots of sand, no fences, big sky and beautiful views.

11.01.2022 Javelin throwing- inspired by my son, who at the very same time was competing in javelin at the state athletics, the children made their own javelins using bamboo from the garden. We established rules and safety procedures before spending an hour and a half throwing practice. Each child competed against their PB with a marker in the ground. MTOP quotes "children are seen as capable and responsible". Through providing children with supervised challenging and risky experiences we are giving them the opportunity to develop risk management skills that not only help them through life but provide them with safety skills to share with their peers. Throwing rocks, sticks and homemade spears could lead them into sports such as shot put, javelin, cricket, baseball etc.

08.01.2022 We are so proud to have received the rating of "Exceeding" from our recent ratings and assessment visit( Bega Valley Family Daycare-rated as exceeding). Earth Play Family Daycare was one of the services visited by the assessor. It was wonderful to showcase what we get to experience and share together.

08.01.2022 We love whales!!! Our connection to these amazing beings runs deep with our "Earth Play Day" children. We are working towards making a "We love whales" garden. The southerly migration has started already. Keep yours eyes open for blows and leaping.
