24.01.2022 Layers and layers of many thousands of generations have created our genetic material. We were hunters and gatherers for so long before the farming revolution that these memories are still our children's basic pattern and create their essential needs. They have basic needs to interact with the Earth and her elements. They have a yearning to be outside. They look to older children for learning. They need a diet which is plant based. They want to emulate the jobs we are doing in... their play. If your child won't eat vegetables or fruit, hide them in the garden and 'find' them with your children. When children gather from nature, activation of this genetic material will make the food more interesting. Make some of your daily chores assessible to them. Chop food on the floor. Find neighborhood kids and pay them to hang out with your small kids. So many ideas will come when you emulate the ways of ancient people. See more

21.01.2022 At six years and nine months, I was the eldest of five children. Mum had been an only child in a tiny town. In her isolation, she dreamed of having lots of children. We grew up in Fiji, Arabia and Pakistan. In expatriate society, homes came with servants. My childhood was where Earth Parenting began as I observed the many differences between how the local women related with us children compared with the expatriate mothers. Our housewives had a steadiness of heart that I cra...ved. They were gentle souls and laughed easily and often. I experienced that there was a starched quality about the English speaking women that seemed to keep them from the depths of their hearts. It is my experience that our culture protects this aspect of the dark mother from being acknowledged. Our culture needs to assimilate this darkness and bring light to it for us to fully integrate the new energies of our time. See more

21.01.2022 I created a fire tending workshop for teachers called 'Bringing the Heart back to the Hearth'. I'm excited to share that it was well received and was a full house. There is a growing interest in the basics of life and I look forward to putting more workshops together.

21.01.2022 ALL AGES PLAYGROUND!!! This playground has been rebuilt. It was built probably 100 years ago and was epic and gigantic then. When it's age caught up with it, most people imagined our current safety standards would destroy the park. But, it's BETTER! It is an incredible thing that this park's essence was maintained. I have often dreamed about our modern living accommodating all ages everywhere. ... Interactive things for small children where their parents have to queue. Bold coloured markings on footpaths where young adults can show off their stating skills. Rocking seats at bus stops. Old photos of the town where our Elders people shop. There are endless ideas when we deepen our intention for Community health. What are some ideas you have? See more

20.01.2022 I learnt about myself today and am experiencing a total breakthrough. I'm going to put this artificial light away and find a quiet warm moment in my tent to write about it. 17.01.2022 Celebrating Christopher! This baby was my fully earthed baby. I had nutted out the nuts and bolts with the first two and with this baby there was no stopping me. He could ride a bike fast down hill before he was three, he could chop wood at three. He would watch streams flow for hours. He woke me up to the human potential that is released through mothers trusting their babies to the Earth.

17.01.2022 Who's got Grand parents? Missing in our lives, so often A loss we don't feel if we haven't had Grandparents. Over the last few generations, so many families have very little contact with their grandparents.

14.01.2022 Hands in the Earth day- Makuru yesterday... We shared around the fire, while children played in mixed ages, in the wild spaces around us. We were the antennas of their playful noises and they ran free as kids have always been able to. The safety net cast was a couple of strong lines that tied them together, "you go everywhere with each other and if one of you leave, you all know to where they have gone. If this is broken, you sit with the adults for the rest of the day. If a ...small child follows you, you bring them back". By making them responsible for each other, they become grounded and play well together. Then the adults can use their other senses for protecting and supervising, from a relaxed distance. See more

09.01.2022 Thanks for all the fun today Kojonup babies and Mums. We all got deep into creating and tipping, painting and more tipping. This generation are hungry for the elements, for getting dirty and tipping water about. Childhood is biologically hard wired to be full exploration of the raw materials of life and nature until about seven years of age. The modern child lives in a sanitised, organised version of our ancestors childhoods. They need to create which usually means to make a ...mess. When mine were young I kept containers of creative potential nearby. When I needed to finish jobs, I'd open up the box of blocks or flour or rocks etc. By the time it was turning into chaos, my task would be complete. Even though they'd often made another mess , it could be cleaned up later on. Happy kids often means dancing with chaos and order, all day. Day after day. Week after week. Months after years. But they grow up and it's their childhood. Way too often mothers` conversations focus on how their small child makes their life so difficult. Turn it around! Kids are happy when they can create. 09.01.2022 Mother is the very portal of life. She needs time without other demands, in the first month of baby's life. In our nuclear families, this means Paternity leave. Mothers need in house support. When they are held, they can hold. The essential birthright of unconditional love for the new child can grow in this fertile soul soil.

09.01.2022 At a surprise dress up at bush school, Mr Potato appeared out of the sack that held the dress ups! Dress ups are universally loved by children. They love stepping through the veil to be other characters. Material is so prolific in our consumer culture, why not keep some aside for spontaneous nonsense!

08.01.2022 Today was wonderful with stories of many amazing people and their passionate work for the Natural world. We are collectively retelling the story of Humanity and it's relationship with Nature. If you are a parent overwhelmed by the profound disconnect in our modern world, just remember the enormous impact you have daily with your children. Let your children lead the way to wonder and love.

In essence, weaving the present moment with other dimensions of time and space. *Even though men throughout time have weaved, it was activated by the Feminine principle.

01.01.2022 Custodianship is a contextual concept for a way of living with the Earth that elicits the deepest level of responsibility in individuals in every action of daily life. It covers the huge gap we as a culture now face when looking at the big picture from within the bounds of our own lives. To be a Custodian is to relate with the elements we use with a sense of responsibility which generates resourcefulness and gratitude. No matter how the world around us seems to degenerate, ...we, as individuals can make a difference a thousand times a day just by coming into relationship with the resources we use and how we use them. Basically, everything is reducible to water, air, earth or fire. These building blocks of life are the fundamental processes which inherently give us life. It is here, when we turn on a tap, ignite a stove or eat some food, that we are communing with the elements. Through awareness of the elements that we need and use, we deepen our experience as elemental beings and thereby, our relationship with the world becomes integrated. The gap between the global calamities and our comfortable lives closes when we take more care with the elements we use and when we begin to understand that we are made of those elements. The gap closes when we become more directly responsible for what we can control. We are one with the Earth. Anything less than Custodianship is an illusion. See more
