23.01.2022 A cold Winter's Day in the Dandenong Ranges and what better activity than standing on my deck breathing in fresh Mountain Air and making Vegan, Palm Oil Free Soap! Today I am making Charcoal Soap and a Plain batch.... Ready to cut in three or four weeks, then needs to sit to cure and harden for a month.... I am so looking forward to seeing how this looks when it's cut!! Stay warm everyone!!

22.01.2022 Good Morning!! I hope you are staying warm and well during this cold wet week we are having, in the Dandenong Ranges it is at least! The sun is still very welcome though I am sorry to be the bearer of disappointing news. Unfortunately the Soap Making Workshops for Term Three have had to be cancelled due to stage four Lockdown to keep us all safe from Covid. Hopefully classes will be able to start up in Term Four.... Or there is always next year. I have been thinking ...about how to make a video on how to make soap.... Technology is not my greatest skill in this World! Difficult to get assistance at this time to do something like this too.... But I will research and let you know if anything materialises!! Meanwhile... 22.01.2022 Standing on my deck in the wind today cutting Soap.... Feeling the wind on my skin, enjoying the warmer air....Today I cut Carob and Oat Soap and took out the Paprika Hearts and the Spirilina and Plain Soap Hearts from the silicon molds.... Now to cure and harden them for a month.

21.01.2022 SOAP MAKING WORKSHOPS Just thought to share some information about my experience and history of Soap Making Workshops. I have been teaching groups of people for nine years and Making my own Vegan, Palm Oil Free Soap for over twenty years. The fact that I have chosen to make my Soap Palm Oil Free is to protect Orangutans and Rainforests. The choice to make my Soap Vegan is to give those people who choose that lifestyle a safe place to make Soap. I can still talk to... you about how to use alternative things to what I am choosing to put in my Soaps....the Workshops are an Introduction to Soap Making to get you started. Once you have had a hands-on exoerience of making soap in the Workshop you will have all the info you needed to go home and make your own. I give you health and safety info, recipes, ingredients, ideas and even some of the Soap we make in the class to take home... Now that Covid Rules are easing I will begin to teach a small Workshop on my Dandenong Ranges fresh air back deck with two people at a time to start with and a few more when the rules ease more..... 21.01.2022 Getting to the end of my full size Soap Bars now with only a few Coffee and Coconut Scrub bars and Plain Soaps with Cornflowers in them. But I do have lots of off cuts with a few of each of Lavender Petals, Basil Leaves, Calendula Petals.... I can make up a seconds pack for anyone interested and work out a price by weight! Waiting patiently for the next batches to cure....

19.01.2022 Organic Hemp Seed Soap Cutting another batch of Vegan, Palm Oil Free Soap! This will be ready at the beginning of October. Made with handfuls of ground organic Hemp Seeds, and Saponified oils of Organic Coconut and Olive, plus Mt Donna Buang Spring water.. .... Great for skin exfoliation and general hand washing....creamy, with a slight roughness and moisturising!!

18.01.2022 Earth Hour is a one-hour light off event held annually. This year in 2021, the Earth Hour event will be held on 27th March (TONIGHT!!!) from 8:30pm to 9:30pm.

17.01.2022 I have been creating a mini-shop full of Treasures on the solid wooden shelves I recently got given on our local free page!! Humidity and high temperatures require Creative use of my limited energy as Summer approaches! I have a range of Coconut Wood Soap Dishes, oval with drainage holes ($7) and small heart shaped ($8) and large heart shaped ($12) plus Bamboo Wood Soap Racks ($5)...both are naturally mold resistant and eco friendly. 15.01.2022 Having fun packing Soap Orders. I make the boxes, to protect the Soap in the mail, using a recycled packing box. I reuse tissue paper and other packing paper that has come to me in other parcels.... All clean and as new.... And I have some beautiful fabrics that have come to me that I can reuse..... Then I pack into a recycled paper padded bag from Australia Post...... Enjoying this part of my small hobby business!! Hope you enjoy unwrapping your parcel when it arrives!!

14.01.2022 Good Afternoon A wet cold week now in the Dandenong Ranges after a few sunny warner spells! So what better activity, after cooking and resting etc, than to cut newly made Soaps. These are as always Vegan and Palm Oil Free, with Organic Spirilina Powder giving swirls and patterns of green in the Organic Coconut and Olive Oil base....... Now to leave these to cure and harden for a month!!

10.01.2022 MAKING EASY NATURAL LIQUID SOAP!! Years ago, even before I started making my own Soap, I would dissolve left over pieces of hard soap in hot water. Grating it first makes it easier to dissolve.... So here I have grated a few Soap seconds, offcuts from the ends of my Vegan Palm Oil Free Soap Bars....not even a full Soap Bar worth....now I shall add this to a large glass jar of hot water...just tap hot is enough!! Shake well and leave for a minute and shake again....I will... add more photos in the comments.... I use this in my washing machine intermittently. I use it in a pump action glass bottle I was given, as liquid hand soap....it could be used as shampoo, or for dishes, or cleaning....no need for detergents, or harsh chemicals....pure, natural Soap is betrer for your skin and for the Environment!! 09.01.2022 Himalayian Salt Scrub Soap! This has been the easiest Soap to pop out of a Silicon mold and the hardest (literally) Soap to cut..... So looking forward to being able to try this one in a few weeks....Salt is a natural detoxifier and exfoliator....it will be giving my skin a good scrub to get off all the dead cells from Winter....

09.01.2022 Good afternoon.... I thought I would post a picture of me today, for those of you who have never met me, nor been to a Soap Making Workshop with me before!! Hello!! One of the positives about not being able to teach Soap Making Workshops in Community Houses during all these Lockdowns and restrictions in Greater Melbourne is that I can make Soap when I feel like it!! If it's too wet or cold to be on my deck, where I love to make my Soap surrounded by the Bush, I ca...n always make it inside instead. Or find something else to do.... And just taking my time, quietly enjoying my own company, and creating something is what I love to do. Today started off warmer than it has been, and sunny, perfect for being outside. I love my work space on my deck surrounded by bird sounds and forest. And so a new batch of Soap was born.... This time with Organic Hemp Seeds!! Stay tuned for my next inspiration.... See more

08.01.2022 CINNAMON AND CLOVES SOAP! A cool Spring morning with sun breaking through the clouds, birdsong everywhere and a perfect morning to make more Soap! Four heaped teaspoonfuls of Organic Cinnamon and Clove Powders mixed into the basic blend of Saponified Organic Coconut and Olive Oils! The Heart Soaps always seem to need to stay in the silicon mold for a week or two longer than those soaps in the one litre recycled reused milk and ice cream cartons...maybe it's to do with the quantity..... . Anyhow, two months approx before these babies are ready.....

06.01.2022 Calendula Petal Soap Adding ripped up handfuls of Home Grown Organic Calendula Petals to my freshly made Vegan Palm Oil Free Soap. Cold Processed Soap has a method and certain quantities of ingredients to make it, but easy once you know how! All my Soaps are made using Organic Coconut and Olive Oils with Mt Donna Buang Spring Water and Sodium Hydroxide, plus one or two other natural ingredients. All Pure, non chemical and as Natural as Soap can be made. All Palm O...il Free and Vegan....Hand-cut, Hand Rolled and Home Made in the pure air of the Bush in the Dandenong Ranges. 06.01.2022 A lovely spring like day today and what better way to spend some time outside on my deck here in the Dandenong Ranges enjoying the stillness of the forest after all the storms, heavy rain, trees down, lots of stress and trauma etc of the past weeks.... Cutting Soap is a relaxing experience especially when surrounded by birdsong, the smells of Wattle tree blossom and even a bee coming over to hover over my Lavender Petal Soap as I cut it and the semi marbled Charcoal and Plain Soap this morning! Peace and Creativity in Nature! Now these will need to cure and harden for a month before they are ready....

02.01.2022 It's Spring.... And time for New Beginnings... I have been creating a Shop for my page, its a new thing for me and very challenging.........Check it out and let me know how it looks...... I may have to edit things as I am not as Computer savvy as I could be.....hopefully it makes it easier for people to see what I have available.....a trial!! Expect teething issues........I still prefer to have a basket of soap and provide information about each in the old fashioned way,... face to face, in person.....but for people who live far away from where I am located, then this will hopefully help them to make choices......means I also have to take some better photos and update my skills...A reminder I have Soap DIshes too......I will go through my old Market stock and take more photos but these were some of them in a range of glass, ceramic and Coconut Wood......Have a Peaceful, Creative and Joyful day!! <3 See more

01.01.2022 Good Morning!! I am amazed at what can arise when I have more free time. With all these months of Lockdown in Victoria, Australia, instead of going out to Community Houses to teach Soap Making Workshops, I have found myself being Creative in other ways. One of those is reusing cardboard boxes that have had things sent to me in the mail to make custom sized packing boxes to protect the Soaps when they get posted out. Using up some of the clean old sheets also, which I ...have had piled up for Rag Rug Weaving Workshops which have not happened either for most of 2020. Hopefully it provides the person receiving them a new way to think about posting things out. I have been inspired by some of the handmade, environmentally friendly, beautiful and rustic parcels I have been receiving this year from small businesses. 01.01.2022 PLAIN and TURMERIC SOAP Cutting Soap again on my deck.... With all the Turmeric I added when making this batch of Soap I thought it was going to be very orange, but surprises happen. The colour in this batch is a little swirly, with subtle colours of yellow and orange, not at all as intense as it looked when I made it!! The Magic that happens in Soap Making..... Now these two batches have to sit to cure and harden for a month till ready to use!! All my Soaps are made with Saponified Organic Coconut and Olive Oils with Mt Donna Buang Water, with nothing else added to the Plain Soap, making it Pure!! And Organic food grade Turmeric Powder in the other Soap!! Happy Spring...
