24.01.2022 1984 xr 250 repair , not our usual kettle of fish but nonetheless we completed a top end repair including new timing chain ,new cam, valve re seat ,new valve stem seals and gaskets . Also completed fork re oil and kick shaft mechanism upgrade to 1985 specs with beefier kick shaft,idle and clutch drive gears to replace the broken gear set, a problem found in the 1984 and earlier models . Happy vintage motorcrossing .

11.01.2022 Thought for the two stroker lover . Oil mix ratios are only a small part of the equation when it comes to getting the smokers right . It takes the right air fuel mixture in the combustion chamber which is a balance of jetting ,needle and air mixture screw settings . All of which can can have a significant affect on your bikes performance , to rich and you foul plugs ,to lean and you risk significant engine damage both top and bottom end . Air density ,ambient temperature and ...gearing also play a big role in how well the bike runs and for how long . A bike running a generous oil to fuel mix ratio can still run lean if some of those other adjustments are not set correctly . With todays modern nikosil cylinders getting your settings right can mean the difference between a reasonably priced rebuild and one that drains your wallet for all of its life . Keep the air filter spotless after every ride ,change the transmission fluids regularly and use quality fuel and oil every time . Power valves should also be checked and freed regularly to avoid sticking and poor engine performance and life . See more

08.01.2022 Suzuki rm 85 in end of a little help . New water pump impella shaft and seal ,repair work to a fried stator wire due to over heating and a total carburettor clean up and back to life .
