21.01.2022 To all our dads and father figures, have a great day.
20.01.2022 Our second round of Covid testing happens on Monday & Tuesday of next week. If your child has been selected for testing, you will receive an email today. We have noticed it tends to be all the children in a family that are selected, rather than one child.
20.01.2022 Hi Everyone, Our P&C volunteers have advised that some items won't be available for ordering on Wednesdays for the rest of this year as they have sold out. They have to be reordered in larger quantities than needed for the rest of the year. Please see below.

19.01.2022 Parents at School As part of the Governments Covid Phase 3 the following advice has been given: Parents/carers and visitors may come on to school sites to attend pre-arranged meetings and for drop off and pick up purposes. This should be limited to a maximum of 100 people with physical distancing of one person per 2 square metres and good hygiene practices applied.... This means parents may drop off and pick up their child at the classroom door, while observing social distancing. Please do not enter classrooms. Parents of students in years 2 -6 are encouraged to still meet their child/ren at the gate to avoid congestion. Thank you for your consideration.
19.01.2022 Parents, due to the possibility of rain this morning and the current condition of the oval, Running Club is cancelled for today.
18.01.2022 As our Year 5 & 6s were unable to venture to Canberra for their biennial camp this year due to COVID, we wanted to do something special for them. Today 90 students and 8 staff had a wonderful time on our Zoo-mazing Day Out. For some it was the first time on a train or ferry, seeing Elizabeth Quay and / or visiting the Perth Zoo. Our students were fantastic and behaved beautifully, as always. Well done all, thanks for a great day and sleep well! Lots more photos to follow on Seesaw and Connect.
18.01.2022 A busy day today with two Covid friendly events following many months of hard work by our students. Firstly, 68 members of our school choir joined the 1500 strong choir at the front of the Perth Concert Hall for the Massed Choir Sing day. The singing was beautiful and our students then enjoyed lunch in the Government House grounds while waiting for the bus. Well done to Mrs Ostrowski and the Choir. This evening I had the pleasure of presenting our 13 students who had achieved awards / certificates at the Children’s University Graduation held at Edith Cowan University. This wonderful program provides students with a range of learning activities outside their day-to-day schoolwork, whether that be before school, lunchtime, after school or on the weekends / holidays. Congratulations to our 2020 graduating students.
18.01.2022 Hello Parents & Community Members, Our Year 3 classes are supporting "Give Write". This is an organisation that collects old and new stationery items then creates packs for children who can't afford Booklist items. If you have any stationery items in working order at home that you wish to donate, please send them along to the Year 3 classes. Thank you!
18.01.2022 Hi Parents, We have had a couple of children come to the office quite distressed due to eczema on their hands. I have talked to the school nurse and she advises that this could be due to the regular hand washing and use of hand sanitiser. She suggests that before school and after washing hands, children with sensitive skin use a moisturising cream such as sorbolene. If you notice your childs skin is reacting to the hand washing please send a moisturiser to school with a note to the teacher. Thanks.

17.01.2022 Hello again parents, I have just received the following advice from the Education Department. Principals may wish to advise their parents and carers that NBN is providing funding to assist phone and internet providers to support low-income family households with school-aged children, who do not currently have an active NBN connection at home. This funding will help phone and internet providers create more affordable offers to connect eligible families during Term 2.... If parents and carers want to take advantage of these offers, they can contact internet providers and ask for special COVID-19 deals. The participating provider will help determine if parents and carers are eligible for assistance. It is important they read the terms and conditions of the offers carefully. Schools are not to provide any personal information about parents or carers to internet providers.
17.01.2022 Hello again parents, Our school has been selected as one of the schools participating in the Covid testing. The initial letter from the Covid team is available on Connect. We will also email the letter and have copies available at the front office. As soon as I have more information, I will let you know.
17.01.2022 Fabulous news from Sabine Winton MLA. Its great to have such a great advocate in our corner.
16.01.2022 Each term our Student Councillors will fundraise for a deserving charity as part of their citizenship. This term they are fundraising for Barnardos Australia - keeping children safe. For a gold coin donation children and staff can roll out of bed on Thursday and come to school in their pyjamas!
16.01.2022 Reports Update Mrs Atkinson has sent out the reports on Connect (what a legend!) Parents, please note the following information about reports, Schooling in Semester 1 2020 has been widely disrupted due to the COVID-19 pandemic. For this reason, schools are not required to report learning area grades for Semester 1 2020. This means the Overall Learning Area achievement section of the report may be unshaded, and the components for a... Learning Area may be unchecked or marked as Not Assessed." Our teachers have provided comments on students progress to date. See more
15.01.2022 Hello Parents, Advice has just come through to principals from the Department of Education regarding Covid restrictions, taking into account the introduction of Phase 4. The Guidelines state: "Parents/carers and visitors may access school sites to attend meetings and for drop off and pick up purposes. Physical distancing of one adult per two square metres and good hygiene practices should apply". ... Unfortunately this means parents wont be able to attend the Edu-Dance performances. We will video each class and put the video on Connect.
15.01.2022 School Development Day (pupil free) Friday 3rd July The Education Department is allowing schools to have an additional School Development Day this year as schools were directed to use the one at the beginning of this term to prepare for students returning and those staying at home due to Covid restrictions. To reduce the inconvenience to families we have decided to have the additional School Development Day on the last Friday of this term. I will use the time to review current programs with staff. The School Development Day for Term 3 will still be on Monday 20th July.
15.01.2022 Today at Wanneroo Shopping Centre some of our lovely students are receiving awards for their art work. If you're out and about come down and cheer! 5.00 - 6.00pm

13.01.2022 Hello Parents, We had a lovely day today with most children at school. Just a reminder to all, Phase 5 of the governments plan to reduce Covid restrictions has not yet happened. Therefore schools are still observing some restrictions. Parents can only drop off or pick up children before and after school. Individual teacher - parent meetings can occur if pre arranged. ... We are hoping that once Phase 5 is implemented, parents will be permitted to be in the school as pre covid.

08.01.2022 Dear parents/carers You may have seen media coverage over the weekend regarding a Western Australian Police investigation that has uncovered a series of online grooming offences against young people in the wider community. Charges of this nature are unsettling and we want to make sure that all parents/carers remain aware of the importance of cyber safety. I also want to reassure you that there is no indication that any of these grooming offences have taken place at a school. ... I know you are best placed to talk to your children about cyber safety and there are many resources to help guide you through this on the Department of Education website. Other online resources are available on the eSafety Commissioner website. This weekends story may lead to children being more aware of these types of offences and wanting to disclose information. The Departments parent helpline, 1800 882 345, is available for you to call if you have any questions or concerns, and is staffed by psychologists, child protection officers and principals. The phone line is available from 8.00am to 4.00pm this Monday to Friday. If you have any general concerns or questions, please do not hesitate to contact me on 62073600.

04.01.2022 Good morning parents. Its great to see so many children back! I have a call out for help. Has anyone contacts with a company that could donate lanyards for our Running Club? We want to give each child a QR code to scan after each lap. Any suggestions are welcome!
04.01.2022 Hello Parents, Unfortunately we have had to cancel the Canberra Camp for this year. Tour organisers needed a response on Friday and, with snow activities cancelled for the year and our borders still closed, I had to cancel. The company has a vacancy for us to reschedule the camp to 2021. We will be meeting with parents of students in years 4&5 to see if this is viable. Our year 6 teachers will be investigating some ideas for a special event for year 6s this year. Information regarding refunds will be sent shortly.
