25.01.2022 Good Afternoon All, Hope everyone in the East community is well through this very difficult time we are in. Posting with some exciting news however! ... Pre season training will kicking off this coming Monday at the Ballarat Badminton Centre. Restrictions and changes are listed in below image. Could all players who are unavailable to train please message either Tristan Dixon or Jim Nichols of their unavailability, to assist us with planning with the current guidelines.
24.01.2022 Season 2020/2021 update Dear BCA members and supporters The BCA Board met last night to consider the permutations of season 2020/21 with the current Covid-19 si...tuation. They also had 4 Cricket Victoria staff involved in that meeting to provide further information and advice around return to play guidelines, amongst other items. With the lockdown period scheduled to continue right through until September 13, the Board felt that making any changes to the season now would likely be a waste of time and add further confusion and angst for all involved. Clearly there is no certainty on what restrictions will or will not be in place past the current restriction period, hence the need to wait until the Government and Health Authorities make their calls as to future restrictions. We will be required to comply with what is in place at all times. Now with the inability to have groups train at all, club and player preparations cannot be adjusted to suit any kind of cricket and won’t be until September 14 at best. The Board is scheduled to meet next on September 14 (or perhaps earlier if the need arises) and by then will have had an update from State Government, Cricket Australia and Cricket Victoria on restrictions and return to train/play guidelines. It is generally accepted that cricketers at BCA level don’t necessarily need a lengthy pre-season and a best-case scenario would see us being able to play on October 3 with 3 weeks training. The likelihood of that happening with full group training ability is admittedly low, however, it is also generally accepted that we are all desperate to get out there and play so clubs will adapt and soldier on. Changes to playing conditions, formats, regulations and protocols will be confirmed at the September 14 meeting. We understand that this is frustrating, and we all want some form of certainty, but right now we are like many other aspects of life unable to provide that. Senior team nominations have been received and will be addressed as normal by the Pennant Committee shortly, with grading to take place and clubs notified of any changes as soon as possible. From an administrative perspective it will be business as usual so we are all prepared as best we can be. A great resource tool is a set of webinars run by CA that will provide tips, ideas and processes relevant to all clubs that we recommend involvement in. They can be found here - https://www.community.cricket.com.au/clubs/club-webinars If there are any further updates or information available it will be distributed as soon as possible. The BCA AGM is scheduled for August 26 and some discussion might be able to take place there if further information is available. For now, stay safe, be well and we’ll be in contact again soon. P.S. Bragging rights for those who get the relevance of the pic.......

16.01.2022 How’s the prospect of a bit of night cricket at Russell Square sound?
15.01.2022 It's official - Senior cricket to kick off on October 17! Based on feedback from our clubs the preferred option by a large majority was to start all senior cric...ket on October 17. The following weekend (long weekend) will see NO SENIOR CRICKET with a decision on Junior cricket to be afforded to all clubs involved shortly. October 31 will see everyone back into it and hitting the park for the remainder of a Rona-free cricket season! Although looking out the window right now doesn't really get you pumped up for outside play, it's still exciting to be this close to having some fun!
14.01.2022 Please see the latest COVID-19 Updates following the announcements over the weekend. For more information and resources, see our COVID-19 Support Page: https://www.cricketvictoria.com.au/clubs-support/covid-19/
