We are new to Tassie coming from the Central Coast of NSW but we love it and are excited to explore this amazing area!... 17.01.2022 Our Community Commemorative ANZAC Day services will be held on Thursday the 25th April 2019. We look forward to seeing school and other organisational groups pa...rticipate as in past years. The Dawn Service will be held at the Macquarie St Cenotaph - please gather around 5.30am with the service commencing at 5.50am. This will be followed by a Gunfire Breakfast, including hot toddy & two up in the Memorial Hall. Gun Fire Breakfast tickets at $10 per head will be available in the hall & please bring along your $2 coins for your Hot Toddy glasses. The 11am Service will commence with the ANZAC Day March commencing at the Macquarie St Cenotaph (RSL Corner), leaving at approx 10.30am (please assemble by 10.15am) for the Max Harris Reserve for the 11am Service. We look forward to hearing from our Guest Speakers and the 2018 Bursary winners during the services. We encourage as many as possible to come along to the services. Donations to Legacy for support and welfare of our veterans can be made at the RSL. ANZAC Day Appeal merchandise will be on sale outside the RSL on Wednesday 24th or anytime the Sub Branch is open For those who have served and are currently serving. Lest We Forget

Opened for breakfast and lunch- come in for a burger, homemade zucchini slice or scones with a milk shake or iced coffee! Also stocked with cold drinks, Tasmanian Valhalla ice cream and daily specials.... We are open 7 days a week from 9 am (Closed New Years day only). Come and say hi!!

10.01.2022 As part of the National Trusts 2019 HERITAGE FESTIVAL there will be a FREE OPEN DAY at the Low Head Pilot Station Maritime Museum from 10am - 4pm on WEDNESDAY ...15 MAY. You will be greeted by a volunteer at the entrance with stories of the 1835 museum building ("Pilots Row") and the pilot service thats operated on the site since 1805. See the newly restored Diving Suit in its purpose built Blackwood Showcase, and in the courtyard view the restored engine and hear all about the famous Ponrabbel II bucket dredge that operated along the length of the Tamar River for almost 50 years - and theres much more to see and hear both inside and out! So,if you havent been to the museum before, or not been there for a while, make it a date. And if you think its worth a donation, they will be very gratefully received! The nearby Low Head Lighthouse and the regular Sunday soundings at noon of the Foghorn are also part of this years Heritage Festival and theres much more if you Google "2019 Heritage Festival Events Brochure".
