11.01.2022 Nominations are now open for the 2020 AFL Junior Development Program trial. In partnership with AFL NSW/ACT, the WSAS AFL Junior Development Program provides opportunities for local talented junior players in the areas of technical skill, education and personal development. The program will run for a 10 week period commencing in early February 2020 (dates TBC). Please see below for trial details: DATE: Tuesday 10th December, 2019 TIMES: 5:30pm arrival (6:00pm approx. 7:30pm... session) LOCATION: Gipps Road Sporting Complex, Smithfield To be eligible for the AFL Junior Development Program, athletes must be: - Aged 11 or 12 in 2020, must be born in 2008 or 2009. - A current financial member of an AFL NSW/ACT Club within the western Sydney region (or agree to join) - Currently residing within the Local Government Areas of Blacktown, Blue Mountains, Fairfield, Hawkesbury, Parramatta, Penrith or The Hills. The trials on 10th December will be the sole trial to select 20 participants for each of the three WSAS AFL squads in the following age groups: - U11s Boys - U12s Boys - U11s & U12s Girls Nominations for the trial will close @ 5pm on Friday 6th December. 11.01.2022 At Eagles Academy we are following the guidelines set out not just from the Australian government but also the AFL in regards to when we can start playing again. 05.01.2022 Just a reminder that due to Covid 19, Eagles Academy obviously didn't go ahead as originally planned this year. We are still hoping that we will get to run the Academy this year, just at a later date. In fact the coaches and all of the people on the Eagles Academy committee are ready to start as soon as restrictions are lifted. In the mean time, stay safe and healthy, and try and have a kick or a handball with fellow family members in your own backyard.
