Please click on the link below to read more about, The Hawkesbury River Express and Brisbane Waters Limited trip and the various options that are available!... https://www.123tix.com.au/events/6518/hrebwl-8th-march-2020 #eastcoastheritagerail

22.01.2022 It's so nice to see an old friend once again! A hearty congratulations to the team at Transport Heritage NSW who have just completed the restoration of locomotive 3801 and hosted a 'digital reveal' today - she looks resplendent on the turntable at Thirlmere turned out in her original green livery as first painted in 1947. Today's unveiling is the culmination of a long journey back to steam which started in 2007, and the results speak to the dedication and perseverance of the team involved in the locomotive's restoration. We look forward to seeing the grand old lady back on the rails in the near future, bringing smiles to the faces of the NSW public once again!

21.01.2022 Flashback to 1985.... Back when the Cockatoo Run was a regularly scheduled connection between the Illawarra and Southern Highlands. COVID-19 has been a big issue for us (and many others of course) with no tours running. But a return to service might, just might be in sight. Keep distancing and safe so we can keep reducing the number of cases in the community and restrictions can be lifted sooner.

18.01.2022 This week is Rail Safety Week #RSW2020 and East Coast Heritage Rail is encouraging everyone to make a pledge to be #RailSAFE https://tracksafefoundation.com.au/railsafe-pledge Even though our trains are not running, the rail network is still as busy as ever. Whenever you are near railways, make sure you stay alert and stay safe. Remember, stay off the tracks, avoid distractions, follow instructions and encourage others to be #RailSAFE. Its unclear when we will be able to... run again, but remember also to do your bit to contain and eliminate COVID so we can remove regulations like the 4 square metre rule which affects our ability to run. And above all, stay safe.

17.01.2022 With our dedicated volunteers and enthusiastic passengers onboard, The Hawkesbury River Express and Brisbane Waters Limited trip, is being enjoyed by all. We wish you were here! #eastcoastheritagerail #sundayfunday #hawkesburyriverexpress #heritagetourism

13.01.2022 Hello everyone. We received the unfortunate news last week that the 2020 Wings Over Illawarra airshow has been cancelled this year. It seems that large outdoor events may still not be possible for some time yet. We are in the process of processing refunds to booked passengers, or allowing them to rebook on our Airshow Flyer train that we plan to operate for next year's show, on 13 and 14 November 2021. Stay safe and keep doing your bit to eliminate coronavirus so that the health regulations can change to allow large outdoor events. https://www.facebook.com/WingsOverIllawarra/posts/3125636014151813

06.01.2022 Despite appearances, this isn't a Flashback Friday post but rather a photo taken only yesterday - two immaculate 421 class locomotives line up at Goulburn, captured by our crew taking 42101 south to Albury with loco T387 and carriage LAN2352 (our MFS2145 went along for the ride). We are happy to be able to support the activities of 707 Operations Inc by helping to transfer their newly acquired rolling stock south to the border, and wish them all the best for their ongoing restoration and operation!

03.01.2022 Some great photos of one of our favourite places to take you. Summit Tank in all its glory.

01.01.2022 Group events are still prohibited, but it is good to hear that restrictions are starting to lift, so we are getting closer to running again and having you on our trains! In the meantime, we've been busy putting together some information on our trains that we know you will love - see the new pages on our website - www.echr.com.au Info has been added about our current fleet, and also about our past fleet. And we've added the lineside notes for the Cockatoo Run for your read...ing pleasure. We are sure you'll find something interesting on these pages. And we are sure that some of you will have some comments on what we have missed, especially our guest locos section which may or may not be complete! Happy reading, and more importantly, stay safe! www.echr.com.au
