If so, join us, the CFA and your fellow community members at one of the community conversations regarding last year’s fire event, community recovery and the upcoming fire season preparations. In attendance will be key representatives from agencies including Victoria Police, bush nursing centres, DELWP, Parks Victoria, CFA, BRV and Council.... Due to community gathering restrictions, registration of attendance is essential. Total number of community attendees is 40 people per session. Registration is also essential for catering purposes. 06.01.2022 Victorian Bushfire Appeal Community Grants Program Expansion The Victorian Bushfire Appeal (VBA) commenced in January to help raise funds to support relief and recovery for our state. Distribution of the funds had originally been allocated for Community Recovery Committees (CRCs), but has now been expanded to include the wider community. Victorian Bushfire Appeal funds are charitable in nature and can only be used to support charitable activities.... All applications for funding must be endorsed by a CRC as a recovery priority; this endorsement can be sought yourself prior to submitting your application. Your local CRC can be reached by contacting Council’s Bushfire Recovery Centre on 5153 9500 and select 1, or by emailing [email protected]. Alternatively, endorsement can be sought after submitting your application with the assistance of the Victorian Bushfire Appeal Secretariat. 01.01.2022 We’ve got our fingers crossed for good weather in Mallacoota over the next two weeks. Our CASA-licenced drone pilots are planning flights over the Mallacoota Foreshore Holiday Park to take photos of the treescape. This work will allow a consulting arborist to update our tree database and condition report. The drone will remain above the holiday park and will not fly over private property. The flight is planned to be undertaken during the two weeks from Monday 12 October to Friday 23 October. It is hoped suitable flying weather will be available during this time; however, the flight may be postponed due to poor weather.
