While I am working on a first in first dressed basis, I am prioritising masks for essential workers first. These essential workers include many of my colleagues who work in childcare. Theyre in the firing line every day, opening the door with smiles for the little people that they educate and care for. Childcare workers get very little recognition as being an absolutely essential element of keeping what is left of our functioning economy afloat. 19.01.2022 With Melbourne and Mitchell Coucil in iso 2.0 and masks becoming compulsory Wednesday, Im doing my bit to get masks to people as fast as I possibly can (may have been sewing until 3am last night perfecting my pattern! ) In continuing with easybeesys style of zero waste, the beautifully patterned fabrics that were destined to be beeswax wraps are now becoming masks. Were using the suggestions from Department of Heath and Human Services, having 3 layers of various fa...bric types. Im also making them with elastics that go around your head so your poor ears dont get so sore. And what a fitting mask it is being a bee one I feel very fortunate to be helping the community during this time and also feel very lucky to have such wonderful customers who support me in being able to support my family! ... With Covid happening, easybeesy eco goods has suffered some major set backs as we havent been able to attend markets. I had taken additional unpaid maternity leave from kinder teaching and easybeesy was going to be my sole income. Covid has challenged me to innovate, think creatively, diversify and connect with customers in more meaningful ways online rather than face to face. Ive absolutely loved the challenge!
