As a Disability Support Worker, you will be playing a role of supporting and empowering people with disability in their living and/or community environment. We are looking for highly skilled individuals to work with our clients in a professional and compassionate manner.The job entails working with various shifts as our organisation will provide care for a 24-hour period according to the requirements of the clients. The job also offers flexibility of work hours and days according to the suitability of the worker. Key Responsibilities 1. Assisting clients with personal care activities including (but not limited to) showering 2. Dressing, grooming, toileting and personal hygiene. 3. Providing companionship , social support during the in-home and community setting. 4. Performing household tasks such as preparing meals ,laundry, shopping and cleaning. 5. Implementing strategies for managing certain challenging mental-health issues. 6. Transporting clients to appointments, social outings and social engagements. 7. Assist clients with limited mobility by using a hoists, swivel cushions and wheelchairs. Skills, Qualifications & Experience Mandatory Requirements 1. First Aid including CPR 2. Australian Police check & International Police Check (if applicable) 3. Working with Childrens Check 4. Current driving license and reliable vehicle 5. Good spoken and written English 6. Proof of working rights in Australia Preferred & visa Requirements 7. Manual Handling Certificate 8. Certificate 3/4 in Individualised Support for Disability Services or Aged Care 9. Person-Centred Values including flexibility to work with families in the home environment 10. One-year previous Direct Care Experience is preferred and would be shortlisted first 11. Medication administration assistance 12.
