16.01.2022 ~Pear Jam Drop Cookies~ Opps. I baked this one by feel. I don't know the recipe and it's likely I will never replicate them, because my baking is a little bit crap. It definitely consisted of buckwheat, spelt flour, butter, sugar, and egg whites left over from making custard. As for QTY's . The pear jam was old pears, cored, peeled and cooked down to a baby food like paste which came in handy for the top of porridge and yogurt for a couple of days! . . .... . . . . . #salicylatefree #lowsalicylate #dietitansofinstagram #nutritionist #nutritionideas #bakingideas #pearjam #cookies #nonasties #healthyfood #healthybaking #rd2be #dietetique #rpaheliminationdiet #baking #isobaking #pear #spelt #buckwheat #eliminationdiet See more

12.01.2022 Papaya is in season Here in QLD they have become readily available at the markets nice and cheap! Papaya is called a 'digestive fruit' because it is rich in the enzyme papain. It helps break down the long chain of protein into shorter fragments and eventually into their components, amino acids. That is why you may see papaya marketed as a 'digestive enzyme' product in tablet form. There is some research to suggest eating papaya after a meal can help with indigestion. ... Papaya is a great baby food puree, and also a soft texture for baby lead weaning and toddlers. Moderate in salicylates, but high in histamine for those with food chemical sensitivities. #dietiitiansofinstagram #dietetique #rd2be #dietetianintern #dietetianstudent #lowsalicylates #rpahelininationdiet #dietetics #dietitian #dietitianmom #papaya #fruit #plantbased #digestion #digestivehealth #guthealth #nutritious #nutritionist #mumsandbub

09.01.2022 What this? Turns out it’s a custard apple, who knew? (I didn’t until a very kind farmer gave me one to try at the markets)...Trying to slowly increase my plant food bandwidth slowly but surely after elimination. Herbs and spices are still After an elimination diet it’s really important to reintroduce diversity of plants back foods at a tolerable level. Diversity of plants = diversity of microbiome = good gut health. Isn’t crazy that to reduce symptoms we find ourselve...s eliminating gluten, dairy, FODMAPs, nightshades, salicylates, amines, lectins, and maybe even grains completely! BUT for long term gut health we need a diverse diet. The process for healing is very counter-intuitive. #lowsalicylate #guthealing #lowfodmap #farmersmarket #dietitiansofinstagram #dietitians #rd2be #guthealingfood #guthealthmatters #microbiome #dietitians #eczemadiet #rpaheliminationdiet #plantfood #eatmoreplants

09.01.2022 Happy breastfeeding week This photo was the last time I got to breastfeed my baby girl at 6 months old. At this stage I had exhausted all my ‘breastfeeding friendly’ options to treat my PNA/PND. . I wasn’t sad at the time. My mission was to get better and that was an all consuming process. Looking back at this photo pains me now. I didn’t find that much relief in weaning and maybe even got worse from that point. . ... What’s important to me now is that these choices and experiences are normalised. The shame and stigma that follow both breastfeeding and PNA/D are inescapable. I still find myself rationalising my choice to wean. . Despite the surge in awareness for mental health there is very little support or information to inform practical/everyday decisions whilst navigating PNA/D. . Fortunately, as we celebrate world breastfeeding week, it gives us a platform to tell our individual stories in the hope to helps others . Sending love to all the women who couldn’t BF, never got to BF, or had their time cut short . . . #worldbreastfeedingweek #normalizebreastfeeding #breastfeeding #breastfeedingawareness #postnatalanxiety #postpartum #postnataldepression #mentalhealth #mentalhealthawareness See more

04.01.2022 My week pretty much summed up. Meaning to make celery juice, but then accidentally making chocolate chip cookies Feels like I’m on the home stretch (last 6 weeks) of uni and so my motivation has been totally lax in other areas! Ps. I don’t drink celery juice because it’s a cure all potion, but I’ve found it does benefit me after trying it out. High in vitamin A for skin, lots of antioxidants, electrolytes, C, K, folate there is no wonder people feel good after drinking... it. I have found it beneficial for my skin and digestion but there is currently no scientific evidence to support that. . . . . #celery #celeryjuice #rd2be #cookies #unistudent #dietetics #motivation #baking #isobaking #chocolatechipcookies #dietetics #dieteticintern #healthyfood #dieteticsstudent #guthealth #digestion #youdoyou
