25.01.2022 Final day today for the Open Drawn Pairs. 28 players took part, in very cold and windy conditions. Winners were Ruth Salfinger and Muss Bairstow on 32 points and coming 2nd and 3rd, both on 31 points, were Carol Klanjscek and Bruce McDonald ( 29 shots up) and Max Cubic and Gordon Twist (24 shots up). Big thankyou to Mike Baker and Ray Mosele for running the competition all winter. Mike also thanked everyone for supporting the event.



25.01.2022 Wow - 36 entries in the Ramona Curnow 100 up Singles held on Thursday. What a great field. Those still surviving in the major are Judy Edwards will meet Pam Salmon in one semi-final while Carol Klanjscek plays Nola Sutherland in the other. With the winners to meet in the Grand Final. In the plate Pat Wainwright will play Jo Bird in one semi and Kerry Ward will play Pam Peterson in the other. The Semi Finals and Grand Final will be played next Thursday, commencing at 9.00...a.m. There were some very good bowls played and some very close matches. A great spectacle. Following the Grand Final next Thursday there will be social bowls commencing at 1 p.m. There is compulsory Pennant Practice to be held next Tuesday - 8.30 for 9.00a.m. start - full club uniform. The Selectors have entered a second team into 2nd Division so please come along to practice as you may be in that second side. 24.01.2022 Another great night at Corporate Bowls tonight with Last Minute taking tonights honours. Still on top after 3 weeks are the NEWKS. They got beaten tonight by Junior Footy so now there are several teams all in the running for the big prize at the end of 6 weeks.

24.01.2022 While the Clubhouse was finally disappearing yesterday Eaton ladies commenced their Championship Triples. 36 ladies took part. Those through to the semi finals next week are N. Sutherland, J. Edwards and Pat Wainwright who will take on last years winners L. Bright, K. Ward and A.Whyatt. In the other semi R. Salfinger, G. Williams and A. Wright play M.Mance, S. Glassey and A. Edwards.... In the plate P. Salmon, L. Martinson and M.Pullen meet H. Fleay, L. Tredgett and S. Miles while in the other E. McDonald, J. Morgan and R. Gornall will play P. Quinlivan, J. Bailey and J. Dempster. Play will recommence at 9am next Thursday. See more



24.01.2022 Deepest Sympathy to the Sampey family on the passing of your father Barry. A past and well respected member of the Eaton Bowling Club. The funeral is to be held at 11am next Monday at the Crematorium Chapel. RIP Barry - Now reunited with late wife Joy.

24.01.2022 Results of Mens Pennant Results today. 1st Div. Eaton Blue defeated Bunbury, in Bunbury, 5/1. Gold defeated Busselton Black 5/1 - that was played at Eaton. 2nd Div. Blue played Brunswick, at Brunswick, and had a 4/2 win while Gold played home to Busselton Black and were successful 5/1. 3rd Div Blue won 3/1, at home, to Harvey. Gold travelled to Collie but no results are in as yet for that match.

21.01.2022 Results of Tuesdays Pennants. Ladies 1st Div Green travelled to Busselton and brought home the maximum points 6/0. Mauve, also playing in Busselton against the Gold team who are on top, had a difficult challenge and were only able to salvage 1 point. Green are still in 4th spot breathing down Capel's neck who are half a point in front. Mauve are coming 8th. 2nd Div Green(7th) went down 4/0 to Collie, in Collie while Mauve defeated Busselton 3/1 at Eaton. Mauve have slipped to... 5th spot. Mens results - 1st Div Blue defeated Dunsborough 3/1, at Eaton. Blue are still on top of the ladder. Gold, sitting 4th on the ladder, went down 4/0, at Busselton. 2nd Div, still on top, went down 4/0 ,at Eaton, against Binningup. 3rd Div Gold went down 3/1, at Eaton, against Binningup and Blue won 3/1 against Busselton Red, at Busselton Blue are on top and Gold are 8th. 21.01.2022 Several teams went to the Capel Ladies Triples on Friday. Congratulations to Bea Olden, Anne Whyatt and Marny Jeffery who won all their games and picked up 3rd spot. Well done all.

20.01.2022 Semi and Grand finals of the Mens Championship Pairs, Major and Plate, were played today in windy conditions. In the semis of the major Bruce McDonald and Kevin Rolleston defeated Steve Ieraci and Peter O'Hehir and Brad Horton and Gordon Twist defeated Ray Mosele and Les Brook. In the grand final Horton and Twist defeated Rolleston and McDonald 17/14. The plate semi's saw Darren Kellond and Paddy Papalia defeat Laurie Blurton and Jeff Conrades (who subbed for George Kern) wh...ile Mark Clarke and Greg McKay were victorious over Ted Reilly and Bill Morton. In the final Clarke and McKay were much too good for Kellond and Papalia taking the game 18/8. Congratulations to all the winners and to those who made the finals. Thankyou to Club Captain Tim, the Umpire Jeff Conrades, and to the Spectators who turned out to witness some great bowling. See more

20.01.2022 Congratulations to the Eaton team of Rob Bowron, Mike Baker, Ray Moseleand Gordon Twist who came 2nd at the Brunswick 2 day Mens Classic played this week. They had 6 wins. Well done guys.

19.01.2022 Ladies Pennants on Tuesday was a mixed bag. 1st Div Mauve lost to Harvey 4.5 to 1.5 placing them 6th. Green went to Capel and brought home 5 points. They are now back in the 4 on equal points with Harvey but 8.3% better and only .5 behind Capel who are 3rd. 2nd Div. Both Green and Mauve played at home.... Green lost to Busselton 3/1, they're in 7th spot, while Mauve defeated Brunswick 4/0. They are now in 4th spot, .5 ahead of Brunswick and 1 point behind Collie. Only a few games to go ladies - lets bring it home strong. See more

19.01.2022 The ladies sub committee elected their office bearers for the next twelve months at a meeting last week. Anne Whyatt remains Chairperson as the Vice President of the Club. Pat Wainwright is staying on as Ladies Secretary and has also taken on the role of Vice Captain. Anne Edwards takes over from Lyn Tredgett as Ladies Captain. Treasurer will be Joy Bailey.... Covenor remains the same with Dorothy Kerr agreeing to stay on. General Committee of 3 will be Julie Morgan, Ruth Salfinger and Shona Glassey, with Lyn VanBavel being her assistant on Raffles. 5 Selectors elected are Maureen Coulson, Margaret Mance, Robyn Gornall, Nola Sutherland and Elaine McDonald. Annes Match Committee will consist of Anne, Pat, Carol Wilson and Elaine McDonald. Club Reporter and Photographer is still Elaine McDonald. Joy Bailey and Ramona Curnow stay on as our Patronesses. Maxine Keefe is still in charge of cards. 19.01.2022 Congratulations to Anne Edwards who won the Veteran Singles Championship today, defeating Pat Wainwright in a great grand final. In the plate Eileen Hemley defeated Joy Bailey in another very close game. Congrats to all and thanks to the Sponsors Pam Salmon, Gail Williams and Elaine McDonald. Also played today was the Novice Singles, sponsored by Karen Cowin and Shona Glassey and the Hall family. In two very close and high class games Julie Morgan defeated Judy Dempster 21/18 and 21/20. Congratulations to both ladies for their hard fought games - great to watch.

18.01.2022 Congratulations to our back to back winners of the Championship Triples, Rina Bright, Kerry Ward and Anne Whyatt. In the semi final they defeated Nola Sutherland, Judy Edwards and Pat Wainwright and then went onto the final against Margaret Mance, Shona Glassey and Anne Edwards (who had defeated Ruth Salfinger, Gail Williams and Annie Wright). The final was a very close game with the lead changing many times especially at the closing stage of the game. In the plate semi fina...ls Pam Salmon, Liz Martinson and Michelle Pullan defeated Helen Fleay, Lyn Tredgett and Sandra Miles while Elaine McDonald, Julie Morgan and Robyn Gornall defeated Phil Quinlivan, Joy Bailey and Judy Dempster. 18.01.2022 What an exciting finish to the Mens 2day ILRR Fours held at Busselton over the weekend. On Saturday Southwest had a convincing win over Blackwood and Murray proved too good for Leeuwin. This morning in a fairly close game Southwest defeated Leeuwin but lost 1.5 rinks. Murray picked up the whole 5 rinks against Blackwood. In the afternoon Southwest got out to an early lead over Murray only to see Murray fight back and get 14 shots out in front. With only a couple of ends to pl...ay Southwest had got back in front and were holding 6 and 4 shots on two of the rinks and the Murray Skippers coverted and took the ends with 1 shot each. With 1 end to play, Southwest were up by 1 shot in the aggregate and Murray holding 4 shots on the end. Southwest third came down and drew the shot and they were able to hold on giving the Southwest the victory by an overall 2 shots. Congratulations to Southwest and to all players for a great spectacle of bowls. Southwest players to be selected for the IZRR Fours are G. Keep (Collie), R. Mosele and L. Brooks (Eaton) M. Playing 2 games of 16 ends and drawing new partners each round the winners of the day were Merry Hadley(Skip), Liz Martinson (Second) and Judy Dempster ( Lead ). Runnersup were Ruth Salfinger, Janine Smith and Pat Whitney. Phil Quinlivan, Gay Rayner and Carol Artley came 3rd while 4th place went to Lyn Tredgett, Deb Wood and Linley Cowcher/Dorothy Kerr (who shared the day). 17.01.2022 Eaton ladies have faired well to date in the Country Week Pairs. Lyn Tredgett/Joy Bailey, Maureen Coulson/ Anne Edwards, Anne Whyatt/Sandra Miles, Pauline Jolly/Michelle Pullan, Shona Glassey/Deb Wood, Elaine McDonald/Carol Klanjscek all won their Sections and had to play in the Post Sections. Unfortunately only the teams of Shona/Deb and Elaine/Carol won their way through to the Continuation play tomorrow at Osborne Park. Well done all - you have done our Club proud and best of luck to those playing tomorrow.

17.01.2022 Mens Pennants on Saturday saw a Derby in both 1st and 2nd Div. 1st Div Gold took the bragging rights defeating Blue 5/1. However Blue can reverse those bragging rights as they are sitting on top of the ladder, while Gold are 4th. 2nd Div. Blue took out the honours 5/1 over Gold. Gold are 3rd and Blue are 4th (.5 ahead of Harvey). 3rd Div. Gold played Bunbury at Eaton with Bunbury taking the points 3/1. Gold are 2nd and only 1.5 out of top spot.... Blue (6th) were away to Brunswick and went down to the home side 4/0. This week is a double header for Mens Saturday Pennants with a game on Saturday and one on Sunday. 17.01.2022 A great Australia Day Mixed Scroungers was held today, followed by a BarBQ lunch. 42 players took to the greens and what a colourful display it was. Winner of the day was Kerry Edwards with Mus Bairstow coming in 2nd, Tom Clooney 3rd and Mike Cordes 4th. Winner of the "Also Rans" was Sandra Miles from Bill Morton, Les Moloney, Hedley Koch and Geoff Honeybone. Winners of the Raffles were Ruth Salfinger, Anne Whyatt, Hedley Koch and Paul Wilson.... Big thankyou to Ed Ritchies daughter and son-in-law for cooking the BarBQ, to Ed and Maurie Thiel for their organisation and Dorothy Kerr for serving the lunch. A great day once again. 17.01.2022 Mixed Championship Pairs were completed today in ideal weather conditions. In the semi finals of the major, Griff Turner and Merry Hadley defeated Tim Stevens and Lyn Tredgett and Errol Pelusey and Pauline Jolly went down to Ron and Sandra Miles. The grand final in the afternoon saw the scores locked at 7 all with only a few ends to play. Turner and Hadley then took over and had a comfortable win over the Miles combination. It was a great game to watch. In the plate semi fin...als Mick and Pat Wainwright defeated Neville Woods and Gail Williams while in the other semi Muss Bairstow and Judy Edwards were too good for Ted Reilly and Carol Hamilton. In another display of good bowls Bairstow and Edwards took out the plate final from the Wainwright combination. Congrats to all. See more

16.01.2022 With only a couple of weeks left of our Summer season 27 ladies took part in a Drawn Triples event yesterday. A good number considering it was the day before Good Friday. Winners of the day were Lyn Tredgett (Skip on7 pts plus 20), best second on 7pts plus 28 was Deb Wood and on 6pts plus 14 Shirley Pennement was the best Lead. Runners up were Ruth Salfinger (6pts +17), Pauline Jolly (6pts +23) and Sandra Miles (6pts +9) as Skip, Second and Lead respectively. Well done to a...ll. 16.01.2022 Congratulations to the Murray League who narrowly defeated Southwest at the ILRR Pairs at Augusta over the past 2 days. 1st days play saw SW defeat Leeuwin by a margin of 6 shots and 3 rink wins each. Murray went down to Blackwood by 17 shots however managed 3.5 rink wins. Second game SW defeated Blackwood ny 17 shots and got 4 rink wins while Murray defeated Leeuwin with 3 rink wins but only 2 shots in the aggregate. 3rd game with SW facing off to Murray with Murray taking t...he aggregate by 2 shots and picking up 4 rink wins. This resulted in Murray taking out the honours 4points, -13 shots and 10.5 rink wins. SW came 2nd with 4 points, 9 rink wins and plus 21 shots. Leeuwin League came 3rd and Blackwood 4th. Runnersup went to Helen Fleay, Carol Hamilton, Judy Dempster and Marny Jeffery. 14.01.2022 Results of Mens Saturday Pennants. 1st Div Blue had a 6/0 win out at Binningup (now on top of ladder) while Gold( now 5th) lost 5/1 to Collie, at Eaton. 2nd Div Blue (2nd), at Capel, had a 4/2 victory and in a very close game Gold (4th) went down 4/2, at Eaton, to Harvey - only 2 in the aggregate which came down to the last bowl. At home, 3rd Div Gold ( on top) defeated Boyanup White 3/1 while Blue ( 3rd) went out to Boyanup but went down 4/0 to their Black side. Well done guys, keep it up.

14.01.2022 24 teams today, in windy cold conditions, took part in the Eaton Ladies Invitation Triples sponsored by Stan Liaros Apprentice & Traineeship Co. along with Capital Management. Winners of the day, from Eaton, were Anne Whyatt, Liz Martinson and Deb Wood who had 9pts and plus 32 shots. Close behind on 9 pts +30 was a composite side from Busselton/Margaret River consisting of Lyn Colmer, Y. Coffey and Kerry Scott. 3rd place went to Lyn Edgerton-Green, Jo Zappia and Gwenda Harper..., from Harvey, on 9pts plus 12. A Bunbury team skippered by Luella Jenkins and partnered by Chris Cornford and A. Danes came 4th. They had 9 pts plus 10. 13.01.2022 Congratulations to Murray League for winning the Ladies ILRR Fours held at Donnybrook over the past 2 days. They proved too strong for the Southwest League who had also won their first two games with the final game to decide the overall winners. Southwest were only able to win one rink, but all games were close. Congrats to SW ladies Bev Scott, Maureen Coulson, Elaine McDonald, Lyn Tredgett, Judy Flannagan and Jan Munday who have been selected as part of the SouthWestern Side to compete the IZRR at Kellerberrin next weekend. 13.01.2022 With several ladies in Augusta for the ILRR Pairs numbers were down for our Club Day. 23 ladies took part in a Drawn Fours/Triples event for Club Sponsorship. Winners were Phil Quinlivan(Skip), Gail Williams (3rd),Noelene Maciejewski (2nd) and Judy Dempster (Lead). Congrats to all. A good day.

09.01.2022 Best wishes to Club Members Ruth Salfinger and Kerry Ward who will be representing the Southwest League at the Interleague Round Robin to be held at Augusta this coming Wednesday and Thursday. Ruth will be teamed with Kate Leese from Binningup while Kerry will pair up with Lyn Egerton-Green from Harvey. Good luck to the whole Southwest Side.

09.01.2022 Results of Mens Tuesday pennants. 1st Div Gold playing at home defeated Capel 3/1. They are 5th on the ladder and 2.5 points out of the four. Blue also played at home and defeated Busselton 4/0.They are on top with a 13point lead. 2nd Div., coming 3rd, lost to Busselton Red 4/0. This match was played at Busselton. These 2 teams are on equal points but Eaton have a 17% advantage. 3rd Div. Gold, home to Collie were defeated 3/1. They are 11th.... Blue travelled to Busselton and the home side were too strong, taking the points 3/1. Blue are in 2nd position. Men have 2 games to go so bring it home strong guys. 08.01.2022 Ladies Pennant teams went up today and Chairman of Selectors, L. Bright, announced that they are not set in concrete at this stage. A compulsory pennant practice will be held on Tuesday Oct. 13th - 8.30 for 9 am start - club uniform. Even if you aren't in a team at this stage, the Selectors would like you to attend.

08.01.2022 The continuation of the 100up singles was completed today in ideal weather conditions. In the semi finals of the major, Nola Sutherland defeated Carol Klanjscek and Pam Salmon defeated Judy Edwards. Nola then went on to defeat Pam in the Grand Final. The plate semis saw Pat Wainwright defeat Jo Bird and Kerry Ward defeated Pam Peterson. Kerry then defeated Pat in the final.... It was a great display of very good bowls. Many thanks to Ramona Curnow who sponsors this event. Also a big thankyou to all the ladies ( and 1 man) who came out to watch. In the afternoon 24 ladies took part in a game of Social Bowls. 08.01.2022 On a cold a blustery day Eaton 1st and 2nd Divisions played a Derby. In 1st Division Blue earnt the bragging rights with a 5/1 win over Gold. However, Gold turned the tables in 2nd Div. with a 5/1 win over Blue. 3rd Div. Blue were home to Busselton Red and had a 3.5 to .5 win while Gold travelled to Harvey and came home with the 4 points. Well done to all.

08.01.2022 4th night of the 6 night season of Corporate Bowls was held tonight in ideal weather conditions. With team numbers being down owing to the proposed starting of the new Clubhouse the competition is wide open with several teams being on 31 points and only shots up separating them. Winners of tonights comp was Centuary Chargers. Well done to them and to all. It is great to see everyone out there having a great time.

07.01.2022 Congratulations to Club Member Laurie Burton who won the Bowling Arm State Singles over the two day competition last Monday and Tuesday. I believe this was a back to back win. Well done Laurie, you are bowling superbly.

Mauve had the bye. Mens 1st Div Blue, now on top, defeated Collie 4/0, at Eaton. Also at Eaton, Gold played Brunswick and were only able to take a half point. They are still in 3rd spot.... 2nd Div. Home to Boyanup had a 4/0 victory and are on top of the ladder. 3rd Div Blue, also on top, went up the hill to Collie and came away with a 4/0 victory. 06.01.2022 A disappointing number of teams today for the Mixed Pairs Championship, mainly I guess to there having been so much bowls recently plus coming up in the next week. However 16 teams started the day out and playing a knockout got out to the semi finals. Those surviving in the major are G. Turner and M. Hadley who will play T. Stevens and L. Tredgett and in the other semi E. Pelusey & P. Jolly will meet R & S. Miles. In the plate M. & P. Wainwright meet N. Woods & G. Williams w...hile R. Bairstow and J. Edwards will play T. Reilly & C. 06.01.2022 Congratulations to Tim Hollamby and Ian Williams who won the Mens Handicap Pairs today. Runnersup were Peter Ashworth and Rick Lyon. Well done to all. A great comp and some very good bowls played by all.

05.01.2022 Great start to Mens Midweek Pennants. Div. 1 Eaton Gold defeated Busselton 4/0 while Blue defeated Dunsborough, at Dunsborough, 4/0. 2nd Div. Had a 4/0 win over Binningup, at Binningup. 3rd Div Blue defeated Busselton Black 3/1 and Gold defeated Collie, at Collie 3/1. A great start guys - keep it up.

05.01.2022 Two Eaton Mens teams have done well today visiting nearby Clubs. Coming 2nd at Waroona Triples were Ray Mosele, Ted Reilly and Peter O'Hehir who won all their 4 games. At Donnybrook Hedley Koch, Muss Bairstow, Griff Turner and Bruce McDonald came 3rd - only shots up decided the place getters. Well done all.

05.01.2022 Best of luck to our 9 ladies who will be competing in the ILRR Fours at Donnybrook next Wednesday and Thursday. 05.01.2022 Results of Mens Saturday Pennants. 1st Div Blue played at Eaton and had a 5/1 win over Bunbury. Blue are still holding onto top spot. Gold (5th)went to Busselton and went down 4/2 to their Black team. 2nd Div Gold(4th) also took on Busselton Black, at Busselton, and in a very close game with only 1 in the aggregate were only able to take hold of 2 points. Blue (3rd) went down 6/0 to Brunswick at Eaton.... 3rd Div Blue(3rd) had an aggregate tied game, at Eaton, against Collie, each taking 2 points, while Gold (2nd) lost 4/0 to Boyanup Blue at Boyanup. Good work Eaton, 5 teams are in the final four at this stage. Lets get all 6 in. See more

05.01.2022 34 ladies (17 pairs) battled it out yesterday for the Championship Pairs. Playing 3 bowls each and 16 ends there were some very close games and very good bowls played. Continuing next week on Thursday at 8.30am, Bea Olden and Sandra Miles will play Rina Bright/ Kerry Ward to see who goes through to the semi-final of the plate with the winner taking on Linley Jury/Marny Jeffery. In the other plate semi, to start at 10.30am Pam Peterson/Jo Bird meet Lyn Tredgett and Anne Strachan. The semi finals of the major will also play at 10.30am. Those surviving are Nola Sutherland/ Judy Edwards who will play Ruth Salfinger/ Anne Edwards, and in the other semi Phil Quinlivan and Joy Bailey meet Shona Glassey and Linda Van Bavel. 04.01.2022 Congratulations to the Mens Fours Champions for 2020/21 who won today in ideal bowls conditions. The team of Rob Bowron, Mike Baker, Kelvin Wright and Muss Bairstow defeated Ray Ashworths team of Bill Morton, Greg Martyn and Greg Aitken. In the plate final, coming from a 9 shot deficit, Ron Miles, John Cowin, John Fuschbichler and Mick Wainwright defeated Nevile Woods, Ray Mosele, Maurie Thiel and Bruce McDonald. Well done to all and thanks to Geoff Whyatt, for match, and Dorothy Kerr in the kitchen.

02.01.2022 Augusta Triples carnival was held on Thursday and Friday and the Eaton team of Ray Mosele, Colin Hotker and Les Brook won all their 8 games and were successful in winning the event. Congratulations guys, 8 wins, a great effort.

01.01.2022 Ladies Pennant Season gets underway next Tuesday. Div 1 - Eaton Green are home to Bunbury while Eaton Mauve take on Capel, at Capel. 2nd Div. Eaton Mauve go into Bunbury to play Bunbury and Eaton Green have the first bye. Good Luck Ladies. Lets make it a successful season.

01.01.2022 First Div ladies played a Derby today with Mauve taking the honours 6/0. Well done Mauve. Green have now slipped to 5th and Mauve are 6th. 2nd Div. Green played at home to Brunswick and took the points 4/0 while Mauve travelled out to Binningup who proved too good for Mauve taking all 4 points. Mauve are 5th and Green 6th....
