24.01.2022 One thing I have been actively doing lately is being aware of how I respond to things (in both life and business. When you look at this image, do you feel like you're sinking to the bottom or rising to the top? Sometimes you just need to invest a little time to stand back, rethink, and cultivate optimism.

23.01.2022 Let's talk source files. Over the last six months I have noticed an increase of new clients who were unfortunately never given the source files to the documents they had designed. For those who are unsure what a source file is, it is the file a designer uses to create your design and allow you to make future edits to the. When it comes to document designs such as catalogues, a design program called "InDesign" is usually used and whilst a print ready PDF is great to do exactly... that ...print, you want to make sure the designer gives you a PACKAGED source file. In a packaged InDesign file, you should receive the source file, fonts, links and any other specifics that the document was created with. So why is this so important? For so so SO many reasons! 14.01.2022 Hey you! It's about time I introduced myself properly My name is Ebb and I run my independent creative business "Ebb Harper Design". After growing up in the Bayside of Brisbane & Moreton Island, I took the plunge two years ago and relocated myself and business to a little town in Far North Queensland. I could leave it at that but I think a deeper dive might give you a cheekier peak into my business and behaviours. Firstly, I'm going to claim the two most obvious things - ...I am crazy passionate about all things design + creativity & My wild love for being on the water runs thirty two years deep. From a young age I was either painting, cutting and drawing or snorkelling around exploring the shallows of Neptune's forest. Fast forward just over three decades and I have created a creative career and a simple sustainable life on my on terms. Just like us all, there's been wins, losses, hurdles and hoops throughout my journey and it's these stories that I look forward to sharing with you as we get to know each-other better. Here's a few final little weird specs about me. I was born with mop of black hair...it went blonde so I guess you could say I looked like a top deck chocolate there for a short while. I have one blue eye and one green eye that seem to vary in depth depending on a few factors. I'm banned from superglue after accidentally squirting it in my eye and gluing myself to the floor. I cannot be trusted or left alone in BCF, Bunnings or Officeworks for long periods of time. I absolutely flog my $3 white sneakers from BIGW - so usually buy 4 sets at once to get me through the year ( even wear these things when oystering or crabbing). I don't own foundation, just some zinc and a little mascara. I choose not to have a TV and spend my time drawing, making or learning instead. And to finish it off for today... Im a fein for anything that smells like coconut or a forest of tropical fruits. 11.01.2022 Oooops there it is! My second focus word for this year is "Efficiency". So what the hell does efficiency look like to me? It's ridding my schedule of things that do not serve me in order to make more time for producing high quality work, focus on client relationships, nourish my wellbeing and kick ass with general business operations. 10.01.2022 Happy Wednesday troops! so just a quick post appreciating those "less is more" moments Regardless of if you are are a personal brand, coach, creative, small or large business, establishing your brand identity from the get-go is paramount. Loving working with a new line of clients lately from near and far Can't believe that brand identity scared me five years ago when I started my business... It's now one of my favourite things! sounds geeky as hell but the process that goes gets me all excited.

05.01.2022 Long term goals are one thing, but have you ever tried daily goals? At the close of last year, I started implementing daily goals into my business to avoid spending the day running up and down the field only to reach 5PM and I still hadn't scored. So what do I mean by daily goals? For me, daily goals are tick boxes of the tasks I have to complete in that day.... so instead of waking up flustered thinking I have one MASSIVE task ahead, I instead have 5-10 mini goals to hit. #Tip: Take one goal at a time and only move onto the next one when you have scored.
