25.01.2022 You asked for it. Random facts part 2! To his mates, he is Simmo or Pooley, to his sons - Papa & to his mum - Pesh Pesh (short for Precious Precious) or Cherub Men are jealous that he can grow a full beard in a matter of hours. Women are jealous that he has the softest skin in the world ... He once dressed as Ron Burgandy from Anchorman but all he did was grow a mo, wear a suit & he looked exactly like him His first album he ever bought was by the Backstreet Boys He always has music on at home & a typical Friday night is spent with sport muted on the TV, a glass of whiskey in his hand, alternating the choice of vinyl records with his wife. He loves Tame Impala, The National & he always puts on the soundtrack to Dirty Dancing. Dont put ABBA on though unless you want him to sing every.. single. word. He ushered at QPAC so he saw Mamma Mia about 48 times He was honoured to be valedictorian for his Uni graduation & got to speak alongside Bryce Courtney He once went to a party in Roma wearing nothing but gold undies from the womens department in Best & Less When he proposed to his wife, he organised a romantic weekend away in a rainforest retreat but there was a huntsman in the kettle, ants in the bread & a huge leak in the bathroom. She still said yes which was the beginning of art & craft Saturdays & even though he claimed he'd never been to Spotlight before, he was ordering Jackie around the shop like she was his PA He loves a ya mum joke. His pet hate is being late, he NEVER dishes up dinner because he claims he doesnt know the portions & he cant draw a circle - its more like an egg For some reason one of his proudest moments is when he was called up for the school musical to play a tree & learnt the dance in a matter of hours Renowned for coming home from a night out & passing out while waiting for his sandwich to toast, the first time he & Jackie went to the races together, he came home 8 hours after her & tried to do a strip tease in the hallway. He knocked over a bin, called his water bottle a purity cup & fell over. By this time the sun was up & Jackie was sober so... no thanks

23.01.2022 People walk into our clinic all the time and worry about how foolish they feel doing their exercises or walking with their new posture We hear comments like... "I feel like a neanderthal walking with my knees bent"... "When I push my belly out I feel fat" "I've always been told to stand up tall and pull my shoulders back" ...Hmmm..... Maybe you should sit down with Epictetus for a day (Greek Philosopher - even as a slave, he'd totally would have done his exercises - every day, no matter other's perceptions

22.01.2022 Repost: @exerciseright_aus Ever wonder what the most popular exercises in Australia are? Well, the latest @sportaus AusPlay results were released last week, and the winners are: 1. 22.01.2022 We interrupt Staff Sunday to bring you an important notice about the current impact of the COVID-19 pandemic on our business. PM Scott Morrison stated today that social distancing measures are our most important weapon of defence against COVID-19. We will be implementing protocols outlined by the Federal Government and any localised restrictions imposed by the State Government to ensure CQs continued safety. After the National Cabinet meeting tonight, places of social gat...hering will be forced to close their doors from Midday Monday 23rd March and will be reviewed in a month's time. These places can include: - clubs, licensed premises, cinemas, entertainment centres, casinos and nightclubs - places of worship - indoor sporting venues and - restaurants and cafes (takeaway is exempt). The already detailed social distancing measures will continue to be active moving forward. The QLD Government will lay down extra detail for our region tomorrow morning. We will be operating as normal - doubling down when implementing our high standards of hygiene and cleanliness, displaying COVID-19 information posters and informing anyone walking in our doors of their responsibilities to protect everyone and us. We have contingency plans in place to ensure everyone is still able to attend our clinic. You can still bring your support network with you. You can still bring your kids with you. Your children can still be accompanied by a parent or guardian to appointments and exercise sessions. We are a locally-owned, small family business. We have a commitment to our staff and we are making a commitment to you that we will continue to hold safety at the forefront of any of our actions. We do request, of course that you cancel appointments if you are feeling unwell and/or displaying the highly publicised COVID-19 symptoms. We have requested the same from our staff. Many local businesses may still be open for business and need your support in any way you can. If you own or are involved in a business that is open tomorrow, feel free to comment below so that all of our followers can see how they can support you in this challenging time!

21.01.2022 In challenging times like these, it is imperative to be adaptable. We cannot control another's actions, only our own. Abide by the Government restrictions, adapt to your circumstances, support your family, friends and neighbours and let people power kick COVID-19 to the curb. Think like a leader.

21.01.2022 Here is our wonderful Tay! If you know only 1 thing about Tay, it’s that she is mad-keen on AFL Sport in general but AFL is her first true love (sorry Matt )... Let’s brag! Last year, Tay won AFLQ Volunteer of the Year She was a nominee for QLD Sport Volunteer of the Year and was invited to the AFL Awards in Melbourne for a shot at AFL Australia’s best Volunteer What’s that saying, if you can’t play you volunteer? Not in this case - Tay is a star player, Captain and has lead her @panthersafl team to 2 premierships Tay is also Club VP, Physio, Coach of Emmaus schoolgirls, leader for local youth girls development and Project Manager for the clubs’ annual charity awareness day and ball where she has helped to raise $40k for @cfaustralia. She’s great isn’t she, Tay Apart from sport, Tay likes to travel. Fiji, Europe, NZ (4x), US (2x) and is planning to plan to visit Machu Piccu. Her favourite trips have been camper-vanning around NZ as a kid and also seeing Niagra Falls Her heart skips a beat when she hears Ed Sheeran and she’s been to every Australian tour um... dedicated?? She’s into the @HamishAndy podcast at the moment and has listened to 2 years worth of episodes. That’s 80 episodes since April. Ha! OMG, did we already say DEDICATED? Another #HPfan4life, Tay notes her parents as her greatest role models, supporters, amazing as individuals and as a couple and she is very close to both. Tay and her partner Matt are currently renovating their own home. Lucky he can cook, because Tay can’t. Also lucky Zac Efron doesn’t live in Rockhampton because he was is her celebrity crush. She embarrassingly admitted she has all his movies on DVD ALL OF THEM! Did you start crushing on him about when you started stealing your brother’s Ken dolls so all your Barbie’s had boyfriends? Tay is proud of herself, as she should be, for everything she has achieved in life so far. It’s no surprise she values people with honesty, commitment and integrity. Some wise words? There’s no point in worrying - you’ll only suffer twice Fantastic Beast

20.01.2022 Fortunately for us and the community, our doors are still open. If you are comfortable attending the clinic for an appointment you can still do so. We are of course adhering to all Government restrictions and hygiene practices. We also have contactless methods of payment available (HICAPS app, Private Health apps, Google Pay and Apple Pay). However, if you prefer to or are required to stay home, you can still get the support you need. You can contact us on 4923 7576 to make a telehealth appointment or if you currently have a face-to-face appointment and would prefer to change to a telehealth appointment, please feel free to do so. We can provide you with details on how to make this work at the time of booking the appointment.

18.01.2022 Hello Wine! Oh, sorry, its Meri just got confused because she just looooves wine Meri is the nurturing but regimented MIR Practice Manager. She joined us in 2019 after her and her family of 3s long history on the end of a physios elbow Meri grew up in Tamworth and has lived all over Australia with her husband Ron and her now all grown up 19 year old son Sam. She loved the beauty of Cairns, the freedom in Alice Springs and has now settled on a piece of property near ...the beach Meri and her hubby Ron eloped in Las Vegas while they were touring the US on a Daytona 900. After they married, Meri ran into her celebrity crush Patrick Swayzee (sorry, Patrick, a moment too late - dang!) Meri loves wine, country music, coffee, travel, wine, trash TV (Bold & the Beautiful she even watched it while she was in labour), baking sweet things, wine and her boy Sam. Oh and wine. Mostly the red variety however shell accept all kinds. When asked what would be easier to give up, wine or coffee? Her answer was coffee. For half an hour. Can I pass? Its no surprise her most used emoji is To be close with Meri you need to have a sense of humour and be honest, even in the toughest of situations. She values health and family above everything. She likes to read true stories but whenever she reads her eyelids seem to get a little heavy. Probably the wine really Meri and Rons property is full of animals that have taken over but they love it. Dogs, cats, horses, frogs, chickens, whatever exists, theyll welcome it. On the weekends Meri loves to walk the dogs, play with the animals, put some music on and have a wine Theres not much that scares Meri but once she scuba dived with sharks and she was terrified. She also bungee jumped at 40 also terrified. Not scared to work with us though

17.01.2022 Christmas In July (excuse for a party) The charming and very accommodating @thecitrusclubco in Yeppoon hosted our team's get together with aplomb Food and drinks aplenty were had and Citrus Club were even able to provide food for all of us with any food intolerances and no-goes! ... Many of us stayed the night or two in Yeppoon to make the most of the weekend and it was great to see the town centre abuzz and full of life, even with COVID restrictions in play and enforced! As with everything we do, there are always awards: The Gumby Award - For the Best Rubber Arm - Tay Tay Best Performance by A Debutant - Dashing Dan Best Preparation Award - Ruby Princess Thanks Mel, Rhys and team - we had a blast! 17.01.2022 Do you struggle with a tight or sore groin? You MUST watch this magic...

17.01.2022 Congrats Val and team. Landing at Tardinghen at 4.50am in a time of 11 hours 13 minutes. First Latvian to cross the English Channel!!

17.01.2022 One you have all been waiting for Simon! The realist - if you don't like to be told exactly how it is, you probably won't like him. He's the educator, Stoic, habitual. His favourite thing to do, is judge people. Surprised? Next time he asks you to do something & tells you you're doing a terrible job, he IS enjoying it He has a beautiful wife Jackie & 2 quirky, energetic, nearly 4 & nearly 2 year old sons Oliver & Atticus. Yes, for those in doubt, Simon has a heart bu...t these people own most of it. He moved up from Brisbane with Jackie in 2013 to be the 2nd full time Physio in MIR. Now a Director, Simon is also a physio for QAS swimming. Hopefully this will get him to the Olympics one day since he was never going to make it as an athlete Despite being a National Champion swimmer, Simon's Rugby career destroyed his knees, ankle, shoulder, hamstring He once wiped someone out on the rugby field & his mum yelled out "don't tackle so hard!" The word most commonly used to describe Simon is calming. Every wedding he attends he ends up with the unsettled babies... asleep in seconds. This is now, prior to his more mature years, he was the first one on the dance floor, red wine down his untucked shirt, knocking people over with his abnormally long arms If Simon could be anywhere in the world it would be Corsica. He will watch any sport but is a Rugby, Swimming, F1 & Biathlon man. Give him a crime series to watch or anything with Denzel Washington. He has watched so much Air Crash Investigation he honestly thinks if he was on a plane that was going down, he would know how to save us all Loves classic 90's movies like Apollo 13, Twister & The Castle. Loves reading & always has music on. He has a freakishly good memory but it is unbelievably bad at Soduko. He absolutely can NOT draw and he has a very limited ability to visualise anything except the human body. He can't cope with asymmetry and he is, no doubt, the least handy person you've ever me. He didnt talk much as a toddler because his brother did it all for him. Now his wife does because hes quite socially awkward. Honestly there could be a part 2 to this!

16.01.2022 Toes turn out when you walk or run? Got knee pain? Had a knee injury and don't feel like your knee is working as well as it could? Pop this exercise into your routine!

16.01.2022 Something may be out of position. Here's a taping technique to help you bring back range and help with your rehab!

16.01.2022 Everybody - this is... Jason. Jason is ‘a thinker'. He's deep, likes philosophy and his research. He's currently listening to 'Principles', an audiobook by Ray Dalio. It's about determining your own life principles, making the best decisions for your life and embracing reality... Yep, he may be calm but his brain is buzzing with lots of good stuff! He's recently swapped alcohol for meditation and ditched the coffee - except for a secret stash out the back in case of 'dope...y emergencies' He's from Brighton, England but he's got a better tan than the rest of us. Emma, his true love, wife and 'better half' as Jason describes her brought him back to Emu Park after they met when Jason was backpacking. Thank you Emma. When we asked Jason who is the kindest person he knows, he said it was you Back to Jason... He's caring and careful. He CAN’T STAND coriander!! He LOVES the Great Barrier Reef though and says it's the most beautiful place he's ever been to. We didn't bother asking Jason why he chose Physio as a career, we just figured it was because he used to work for his uncle as a truck driver, transporting sewerage across the UK! A little Q&A we had with Jason... MI: What's something you're looking forward to in 2020? J: Holiday in America for 5.5 weeks MI: Do you have a favourite book? J: The Alchemist by Brazilian author Paulo Coelho MI: Where would you love to travel to? J: Ushuaia, a city in Argentina MI: What would you call good advice? J: 'Make good choices' Thank you Jason

15.01.2022 Corey! What can we say about our Corey. He has been with us for several years as a Performance Coach. Over those years weve seen him grow from a nervous young new grad to a brilliant coach that parents love and kids look up to. He is the fun-loving old faithful and although he is just finishing off a teaching degree, he is part of the furniture so hell never leave us Corey is a Rocky local, has 2 brothers, admires his folks and appreciates honesty. He is an AFL fan...atic and is number one supporter of the Brisbane Lions. He has played for Glenmore Bulls forever. He is loyal to his club, but poor Corey, all he wants to do is win 1 premiership... 1! His weeks generally consist of work, Uni (not anymore ), playing footy, watching footy, watching NFL, watching NBA, playing NBA and catching up with mates - and hanging out with his gorgeous GF He once broke his little toe by kicking it on the side of his bed so he turned up to work in a sock Weve lost count of how many times weve seen his Dads ute at work because his would break down on the way in at 5:30am His favourite movie is the Longest Yard and he loves going to a music festival - not necessarily for the music, he just loves a good time He recently caught the travel bug after visiting Thailand and going on a snowboarding trip to Japan. Hed like to country-hop around Europe next Hes not an emoji user, he doesnt think he could survive in the wilderness and if he could eat one food for the rest of his life, hed pick enchiladas If he could pick any Olympic Sport to win a gold medal in, hed pick the 100m sprint. Who wouldnt! When he was a kid he wanted to be a professional football player. If he had his own talk show his first 3 guests would be Lachie Neale, Derek Rose and Michael Jordon. His first job was a painter but his favourite is definitely coaching our MI kids Are there you have it, a million random facts about our Corey

14.01.2022 Introducing... One of our new Physios, say hello to Laura! Ah Laura... Happy, grateful, a little quirky and a lot relaxed. She's one of those people you feel comfortable around straight away. She - is - lovely!... Laura, the junior resident ginger may be a new grad but she can certainly hold her own and is a very welcome addition to the MI family. We had a little chat with Laura to find out who she really is... . Laura loves Japanese food and if she had to eat one thing for the rest of her life she'd eat sushi. If she's having a rough day she'll get outside and run her frustrations out. Then she'll probably head to the beach and read a Harry Potter book - #HPfan4life She has family in Holland and would love to visit one day but for now she is super excited to sink her teeth into her Physio career. Family and friends mean the world to her and she has always wanted to get into a career that would help people - did we mention she was lovely? This is her favourite emoji - classic Welcome Laura! We love you already

14.01.2022 Let's talk about... Mick! If you don't know Mick, he is our Head Performance Coach, meaning, he basically lives in our gym taking the athlete development training, injury rehab/return to sport, group classes, speed and agility camps and anything else we throw at him. He generally does long hours or split shifts - bit of a tough gig in that sense so you've got to be passionate - which he is. More on that another day Mick is originally from Cairns, did an extra school year... in Canada for kicks, met his soon-to-be wife Laryssa there and brought her back to Brisbane for Uni. They moved to Rocky a couple of years ago for Laryssa's work Mick's another relaxed member of the MI Family. He likes people who can take a joke and don't take life too seriously His highlight of 2020 will be the day he marries Laryssa (of course). He'd do anything for her - to help her get a Visa, he even took a job on a banana farm in Innisfail where for months, he lifted 20kg boxes of bananas. That's all he did. He calculated he lifted 1.5 tonne of bananas Did we mention Mick is a numbers man? Get this - he's reading a book called 'Soccer-nomics' which is like economics, but for Soccer Despite being a numbers nerd, he really, really, really loves sport! Quite fitting since he works in the field. If he's happy, he'll watch sport, if he's sad, he'll watch sport, if he needs to zone out, he'll watch sport. Get the drift? Fun facts: Mick would love to be a sports commentator He could eat his mum's spaghetti every day for the rest of his life He used to play trombone and tuba in the school band He'd love to have dinner with Don Bradman Favourite book: Bryce Courtney 'The Power of One' He and Laryssa are foster parents... of cats! If you were stuck in the wilderness with him you'd be eating berries because he doesn't like blood and guts Fondest memory: His birthday 2004 when his parents took him out of school, flew him to Brisbane to watch the Wallabies flog England 51-15 in front of 53,000 people Hopefully he wants kids because kids LOVE him! They follow him everywhere for some reason. It's very entertaining

14.01.2022 How can you improve your running??? We think 'Skippy' was onto something

14.01.2022 Everybody, welcome to the team, Dan! Dan is dashing, down-to-earth and has a calming voice what more could you want when your back pain is sending you mental Born in Charleville, raised in Roma, he completed Uni at the Sunny coast and then his Masters in Brissy. He has 3 older sisters and just got to see one marry in a traditional wedding ceremony in Nepal. Hes a new Physio for us and hes a levelheaded, well-rounded, lover of pretty much anything ... Heres the lowdown Dans a fan of travel, especially if there is snow involved and so far his favourite snow spot is Switzerland. He hopes to ski the slopes of Canada next, otherwise you might find him in Vietnam or hiking through South America Hes spent years practising Martial Arts Karate, Muay Thai, BJJ You probably wont catch him in a fight because he knows wayyyy too much about concussion now Dan is also a massive Quentin Tarantino fan!! Pulp Fiction He Loves to watch movies in his spare time, maybe go for a bit of a run or read some Matthew Reilly Action-Adventure fiction. If he had his own talk show he'd love to get boxer Tyson Fury on so he can get inside his mind. Then he'd invite Brad Pitt, just because his movies are awesome... and I mean, who wouldnt want to talk to Brad Pitt Dan likes people who dont take themselves too seriously and he respects people with persistence. He learnt a lot about life from his childhood Karate teacher who's admirable level of patience and dignity helped to make Dan the considerate person he is. Something you wouldnt know about Dan? Hes been in 6 musicals and loved it! He can also play the piano, trombone and baritone well need to get an MIR band together with all these washed up musicians By the way, eat your heart out Hugh Jackman Some wise words from Dan? "Mum knows best" (there you go mum) and "Fail faster" or "Nothing is ever as easy as you think it will be" Dan's a realist by the way. Please welcome, Dan!

13.01.2022 Have you got ongoing shoulder pain? Does you knee pain keep returning? Do you have plantar-fasciitis? Maybe you can help by releasing your hip capsule

13.01.2022 For those of you who know Sherree... Yes, we know, we hear it from you all the time and yes, she IS the best. Unmatched in her field For those who don't know her, Sherree is MIR's Women's, Men's and Pelvic Health Physiotherapist. She is Masters Qualified and the MOST experienced in CQ Along with 'the Brains Trust' Roger and Lou, Sherree has just returned from a course with Martina Jezkova and Petr Bitnar - two experts from DNS Prague school - which is, by the way, one of ...the biggest influencers on the MI paradigm (if you're feeling nerdy, you can read more about them on our website) So, the course - and let's cut the techy talk. Basically, the organ system and muscle system are connected and influence each other. Issues in one system, may result in issues in the other. With me? Each organ has its own role. Thinking Sherree's field of expertise - let's look at the bladder. It's role is to store urine. If there is any disruption to this role (say from a disorder, scarring from abdominal surgery, trauma etc), it can cause changes in its function. These changes can upset your muscle system, especially the movement patterns between the diaphragm and pelvic floor - a key connection that assists bladder function. Clear as mud? Every system and process in our body is linked in some way. Finding the link and restoring this is the art of physiotherapy. Sherree is an artist!

12.01.2022 Sibling duo Olivia and Aidan Massingham travelled up to Townsville last weekend to compete in the Townsville Tennis Open competition Olivia competed in the 16 & Under Girls Singles and AMT Open Women's Singles tournament. Winning both age groups, Olivia dropped just 1 set throughout her entire tournament. A very impressive and well deserved achievement for this rising athlete! Aidan competed in the 14 & Under Boys Doubles and Singles tournament. Coming away as the runner u...p in the doubles and 3rd place in the singles, losing to the eventual winning in a match tie break. An awesome effort for a bottom age competitor and persistent athlete! Two very dedicated athletes that we can't wait to see what the future brings for them both. #miathletes #tennis #hardwork #dedication

09.01.2022 Although your usual freedom may be a bit out of reach at the moment, this is the perfect time to do some personal or professional growth and to realise the meaningful things in life At Movement Improvement Rockhampton, we have taken the downtime as an opportunity to grow as a team, cross some things off our 'would love to but never have the time' to-do list and improve areas of our business we thought could do with a little tweaking Here's a look at what we have been up t...o: Practitioners sitting in on each others' appointments for learning, consolidating, collaborating and teaching opportunities Developing patient resources for our injury management/rehabilitation protocols to help you better understand your injury/pain journey and expectations Streamlining daily processes Developing more flexible appointments such as online and video conference consultations Developing flexible and contactless payment options Reviewing our current and implementing new hygiene practices Building team camaraderie - if this pandemic has done nothing else, it's given us the opportunity to galvanise our team culture. We have been warmed to see how well everyone at MIR has approached these difficult times. Each employee has been selfless, honest and respectful. This is the backbone of a culture that we are so proud to be a part of Even a cloud hanging over a pandemic has a silver lining. We hope you have had the chance to realise opportunities that may help you or your business move forward with conviction once the storm passes Stimulus . . . . . Response (make the most of that space!)

09.01.2022 If you are a patient of ours you probably would have been given a home exercise based around your breathing Why? -To stabilise your body, you need to have correct respiratory function. Without this, you will not be able to function at your body's greatest potential and you will not be able to mitigate the problems you repeatedly have-... Hard to believe something so simple as breathing can help? Have some self-discipline and keep doing your exercises - feel the difference for yourself

09.01.2022 Who's loving our Sunday Staff posts? Well, grab your cuppa and get cosy because this time we meet an authentic young dreamer who you might recognise from the front desk. For the past few years she has been working with us in Reception, Admin and also as a Performance Coach... Here's our beautiful soul Kate Kate is a country girl from Mitchell who wanted to be a ballerina when she grew up. Instead, she became the first in her family to go to Uni and last year finished a B...achelor degree in Exercise Science She also captained Rocky Brothers' women's Rugby 7s team before she decided she was spending too much time on the physio bed and headed into early retirement. She still likes to play touch though and don't be fooled - you may think she's the pretty little ballerina type but if you're not careful, her competitiveness will knock you flat Perhaps a 71 year old in a 21 year old's body... how do you spell homebody? Yes, well it's K-A-T-E. Kate loves her creature comforts. Her ideal night would probably be snuggling in a doona, watching Grey's Anatomy, drinking tea and online shopping for the latest unique fashion and home decor If she's not getting all nice and cosy, then I'd check rehab for Pintrest-aholics or the airport for all flights heading to somewhere incredible, like Iceland! Despite living a gluten free, dairy free and sugar free life (Dr's orders), she actually LOVES food. Vegetables are her thing nom nom nom... Now, with a drive to push herself out of her comfort zone and figure out what she wants out of life, Kate is going on hiatus to Brisbane. But hey, leave your tissue box on the bench, we've told her she has 12 months before she must return to us. Yes, not just Rocky, us KB, we just had to tell everyone how much we adore you before you left. Kind, loyal, strong-willed, intelligent and with a big heart. If you don't come back from Brisbane we'll come down and drag you back!

08.01.2022 Reuben More fondly known as Ruby, Buby, Princess or Melons. Quite a collection of nicknames but that happens when you are the quirky one of the MI family Ruby was born in Christchurch but dont hold that against him. He is a Crusaders fan though ok, moving on #wearered... He loves to travel, has been to England, France, Italy, Spain, Monaco, Hawaii, Thailand, New Zealand -he did say that His favourite travel spot so far is Nice, France. Hes first year out of Uni so is too poor to travel now but wants to go to Greece or Mt Everest base camp He loves snowboarding and while a NZ res he lived half an hour away from Mt Hutt. More like Mt Hott than Hutt here. We may not have snow but we do have hockey which he played a lot of in his more athletic days. Hes also played rugby, tennis and dabbles in golf. He likes surfing well, he said that, then he corrected himself. He likes the idea of surfing but hasnt really thrown himself into that yet. Byron Bay is his favourite spot in Australia though so I guess hes on the right track He also loves watching sport typical kiwi, he says that but all he watches is other kiwis every all blacks game, every crusaders game, every other kiwi team in the Super Rugby. and a bit of AFL Ruby is a music fan. Heres a few bands on high rotation: Lime Cordiale, Jungle Giants, Milky Chance, Ocean Alley. He loves a music festival and his first gig was. wait for it. The Reubens He binge watched Masterchef and grew some interest in Adrian Zumbo so he tried to make one of his famous desserts. One, he started at 6pm and was still up making it at 1am. No surprise, he is scarred for life and has never cooked a dessert again Ruby takes forever to read a book because he develops theories and puts them into practice during his reading. Like when he read the Barefoot Investor. He got into the share market before it collapsed and lost a few hundred bucks. Damn. Ruby is a laugh. If he doesn't have a story on something he has a theory on it. He loves a comedy and always smiles when he talks. If its not clear by now hes a life-lover and will give anything a crack, clue or not. On ya Melons

08.01.2022 Check it out MI Rocky's very own Head Performance Coach Mick Schramm got a little gig on the news!! Have a look here: https://buff.ly/2He1mTW - Thanks, Channel 7 ... Since November and alongside MI Physio Taylah Pringle, Mick has been working as the CQ Suns Academy Regional Strength and Conditioning Coach. That means if you don't like working hard, you probably won't like Mick. Do what he expects of you though and you'll be fit, powerful and resilient GC Suns players will be making the trip up to Rocky next week to run an open training session and academy for the youngsters. Mick, a local AFL player himself is pumped for the opportunity for CQ's budding athletes to be exposed to professional AFL players and see the preparation and work it takes to get to the top AFL Queensland AFLQ Capricornia Gold Coast Suns

07.01.2022 What?!... ...A PINK kitchen?? @kitchen.perfect made me do it! Just kidding, they loved it though. When else would you be able to do a pink kitchen?! . Going from a sink Simon could barely fit his man hands in and a space so small, if you ordered a large pizza you'd have to sit outside - to this beauty - oooh yeah ... The tiler even made up his own pink grout Oh shucks Adam Now we just need purple plates, green bowls and blue cutlery... too far? We do need some art for the walls though... Any suggestions? What do you think? Does our pink kitchen make you smile or shield your eyes?

07.01.2022 Andrew Lack aka 'Lacky' Well, for a start, at the MIR Christmas party last year he got the award for over-thinking, over-analysing and over-complicating... everything He can keep things simple - sort of, he just really, really likes to think ... He's busy. He doesn't know how to sit still. A self-professed perfectionist, if he had an extra hour in the day he'd just fill it! Probably with the gym, sport or sleep - he needs to do that more often He built his own computer server at home - loves to pull a computer apart to put it back together again... with more power (cue Tim the Toolman Tailor). That's if he has time - which he doesn't because he's too busy talking, thinking, exercising, thinking, playing tennis, watching tennis, perfecting something, planning, thinking .... Ok, so he's a tennis NUT. Like any decent human he loves Federer He's also been coaching tennis since he was 14. He loves the show Scrubs, loves Bear Grylls-style mountaineering stories and a bit of action-adventure fiction. He'll go for an audio book over a paper book. He's not much of a texter or an emoji person and his meme usage has got nothing on one M Cavanagh podiatrist #hashtag Lacky moved up from Brissy a couple of years ago to work with us and be closer to his girlfriend of 14 years Katey who is working and living in Monto. Might I add, girlfriend of 14 years despite him absolutely despising housework!! One day would like to earn enough money to not have to worry about money. Loves to travel though so this won't happen any time soon. His favourite place he's travelled to is Switzerland but he's done China, Japan, UK and spent 7 months in Europe. Maybe he liked the backpacker life because there was no housework to do One thing he is very proud of is losing 33kg in 6 months when he was 16. How? Just controlled his diet and ran more His biggest teacher was his high school IT teacher who gave him a plaque stating 'ít's not fear that stops you, it's the fear of failure' Lacky leaves us with these wise words: 'Hard work and dedication are worth a lot more than pure talent and intelligence'

06.01.2022 N E 1 4 10 S? Ever wondered what our physios get up to outside of torturing hours? Here is Lacky, Lacktation, Lacktic Acid, Lacking Talent... We could go on but if you know him, you know he loooves tennis! If you dont know him, well now you know he looooves tennis. This is the one thing he does the most outside of the clinic. ... Although he first found stardom as a prop (in all meanings of the word) in the BBC 14A rugby team, he decided to strip off his very heavy man-child body and pick up a racquet. Now, he is that annoying guy on the other end of the court who just keeps getting the ball back. Forever the grinder, tactically establishing a war of attrition. Occasionally he may throw a backhand down the line to end the fight, either in his favour or not. He can go both ways - he is happy at the net or on the baseline. His greatest tennis claim to fame is beating the 225th ranked Australian tennis player in a tournament once... For those of you who know tennis, he has only lost "love and love" twice. He was probably trying to hit too many forehand approach shots and if you ask him, he could probably recite every single detail of those two matches. His favourite female tennis player is Ash Barty because she can do everything well! And if his favourite male tennis player wasn't Roger Federer he would no longer work at Movement Improvement... lucky! If you play tennis and you want someone to speak your language, this is your man! @ Movement Improvement Rockhampton

06.01.2022 We first met Alex through the world of Rocky basketball. Alex captained the Rockhampton Cyclones for several years and captivated her many fans by superbly controlling the game. Now retired, Alex is so modest you wouldnt even know she ever played basketball, let alone winning back-to-back championships You may recognise Alex from the reception desk of one Matt Cavanagh Podiatrist. Thanks to her strong genetics (knees of a 70 year old), which encouraged her retirement from ...basketball, she ditched Matt and went on a 2 year overseas hiatis that she has just returned from The most beautiful place she visited was Ljublijana, Slovenia and the first thing she did when she got back to Rocky was have a steak dinner and a glass of Aussie bubbly Now thats she back in Rocky, shes seen the light and works with us now She is also studying to be a Secondary School teacher and is eagerly awaiting international travel borders to open since she left her poor Scottish boyfriend back in the UK Alex is Rocky born and bred and grew up with her Mum, Dad, Sister... and her independence. She is kind, caring, wide versed and appreciates good manners and correct English. We have heard however, as a little one she threw tantrums that would make John McEnroe quiver in his Reeboks Shes sick of TV since shes just come from a 10 week lockdown in London so instead, shes trying to figure out how London clothes will fit into a Rockhampton lifestyle She likes a little bit of everything cooking, sport, arts, books. Shes creative and loves to get stuck into projects. You'd also find her having coffee with friends or at a poky little club appreciating some bluesy band shes never heard of. Her favourite recent read is Normal People by Sally Rooney but also enjoyed The Alchemist and would love to pick the author, Paulo Coelhos brain. Alex is a very grateful person, loyal, dedicated, and is not shy when she needs to stand up for herself. If you know Alex, youll know there is never an awkward silence. She will always find something to talk about Welcome back to Rocky Alex and welcome (officially) to our family

06.01.2022 Announcement time... WE’RE MOVING!! We would like to officially announce that Movement Improvement Rockhampton is moving As of the 2nd January 2020 we will be located at 140 William Street. We are very excited for what the future will bring us and for you to see our new home in 2020

04.01.2022 Stu... What can we say? Stu McBean, if someone looked for you in the dictionary they would find you under 'great bloke' All our physios are smart, but Stu is also... cool . He's got his head on straight, he's chilled, he's modest and he absorbs everything you tell him. He's genuine, trustworthy and you just generally want to be around him . Yep, that guy... He values family and he likes people with integrity. He feels lucky to have been born in Australia... but would p...robably feel even luckier if he met celeb crush J-Law He hasn't done a lot of travel. Maybe it's because he loves staying home and watching crime series - currently watching Godfather of Harlem - Forest Whitaker - get onto it people He says his mum is the kindest person he knows, he can cook (an array of food and would not be interested in surviving in the wild - 'I'd prefer the array' . He loves the gym, doesn't drink coffee. What advice does he have for the young ones? Hard work pays off. Simple, but true. Everybody needs a Stu in their life, thanks for being ours.

04.01.2022 'Dedicated' and 'modest' are two words that spring to mind when you ask Mick, our Running/Walking Club coach what he thinks about Dot Lennane. Dot has impressed us so much recently we just had to share her achievements with you In 2016, at 70 years young, Dot kicked off her Park Run career. She has since completed 162 Park Runs in Rocky alone. She started off with times around the 53, 54 minute mark. She upped her efforts and became a loyal member of the our Running/Walking... Club. Slowly but surely, Dot got her time down to 43 minutes, then she achieved her 2019 Personal Record of 42.10 This year already, Dot has achieved 5 Personal Record times in 8 races and has got her time under 40 minutes True to Dot's form, she's shifted the goal posts and by the time she is 75, in August this year, she hopes to achieve a sub-38 time Dot is one of the most loyal Running/Walking Club members we've had. She is so modest and really appreciates feedback on her running technique. She is a shining example of how goal setting and persistence can bring you great personal success Well done Dot, we are so impressed! You're a great role model and we can't wait to help you with your sub-38 minute goal!

04.01.2022 Here are the 3 things you MUST DO when returning to sport! Now that restrictions are easing and people are making a return to sport, we thought it was important to give you some orders so we don't have to try and fit the entire CQ population in our clinic over the next couple of weeks. Let's not get too excited and pull a hammy on day 1 ok!? ... We're (kind of nervous but...) really excited to bring you our first video. Here's Mick! https://urlgeni.us/youtube/3thingsreturntosport

MI is wishing you the best of luck for the next 3 days Jacob! The event will be live streamed on the YBRWF Facebook page https://www.facebook.com/YBRWF/ ... #miathlete #worldfinals #bullrider #YBRWF
