25.01.2022 MEET OUR TEAM Dr Toni - Veterinary Surgeon and Practice owner (Dr Toni’s dog Micro featuring in photo) Toni graduated from the University of Queensland in Brisbane in December 1989 starting her career in small animal practice in the northern suburbs of Sydney. Toni later moved to Biloela in Central Queensland to fill a burning desire to work with large animals as well as small. After two years in Biloela she moved overseas to work and travel spending almost 18 months in the... UK, Europe and Africa. After returning to Australia for a wedding in 1994 she was undecided on the next move so completed a 10 month locum in Byron Bay before moving to Toowoomba for work. After 3 years in a permanent position Toni decided to pursue her dream of owning her own vet surgery and Eclipse Park was opened in October 1999. Life since then has seen an incredible journey shared with family, team mates and many wonderful clients and their beautiful pets. Toni has also committed a lot of time to personal and professional development for herself and her team at Eclipse Park Vet Surgery. Toni is the proud mother of 3 children and guardian of many pets (almost all rescued). Toni is very passionate about animal welfare, both domestic and wild, and committed to improving sustainability in the workplace and at home. She enjoys learning, reading, horse riding (although hasn’t been doing this too much recently), state of origin, tennis (playing and watching), camping, bushwalking and would love to do more travelling in the future once the kids have all left home. Dr Toni, although still very much involved with patient welfare and treatment, is now dedicating a lot more time to leadership and practice management helping to ensure Eclipse Park Vet Surgery continues to provide an excellent client and patient experience and an excellent place for the team to work! Toni’s passion for animals and the environment has been ever present since a small child and she has never wanted to be anything other than a vet. She has a strong sense of duty and will always be dedicated to the human-animal bond. See more

So thank you for your patience as our patients are important to us

13.01.2022 Meet Charlie He is a lovely, 12 year old Ragdoll. Charlie recently came in for a dental procedure (teeth clean!). Dr Ruth and our Senior Nurse Sam not only scaled and polished his teeth but also took x-rays of all his teeth. If these x-rays weren't taken, they would not have been able to tell that one of Charlie's upper canine teeth was beginning to reabsorb into the upper jaw. Dr Ruth was able to surgically extract this tooth before it could become very painful for Charlie. Charlie recovered very well from his anesthetic and dental procedure. He is back to his usual self, covering everyone and everything in fur!

02.01.2022 RAT BAIT TOXICITY -POISONING Both dogs and cats can be affected by ingesting rat bait directly or by ingesting rodents which have ingested rat bait . It is a condition to be taken seriously and early diagnosis and treatment may prove lifesaving. If you see your pet ingest ratbait then seek veterinary advice ASAP to reduce toxin absorption. The most common ratbait is an anticoagulant rodenticide, HOWEVER there are some newer baits with different actions. Some signs of toxicit...y: pale gums or small pin point haemorrhages on the gums lethargy and weakness bruising under the skin blood in the urine or faeces bleeding from the nose/mouth coughing, respiratory difficulties (labored or rapid breathing)or wheezing; may produce blood when coughing continued bleeding from small wounds or cuts depression or anorexia We advise you get your pet to the Vet Surgery as soon as possible if you suspect rat bait ingestion. Please feel free to phone us on 46987309 if you have any questions/ See more
