23.01.2022 What is your magical ingredient to strengthen your immune system? We would suggest a daily dose of manuka honey as it has scientifically proven antimicrobial, a...nti-inflammatory and antioxidant properties. Research shows that it even has potent inhibitory activity against the influenza virus, demonstrating a potential antiviral medicinal value. To get the maximum antioxidant properties of the honey, look out for the MGO or UMF grade level printed on the label. MGO (methylglyoxal) is a compound found in honey and its number is used to measure its antibacterial strength. The higher the MGO content, the higher the nutrients found in it. Our manuka honey is Certified Organic, which means the beekeepers go yearly through extensive procedures to ensure all apiaries (beehive farming spots) are located 5km or more away from pollution sources such as livestock facilities, rubbish disposal sites, contaminated water and GMO crop fields. Our Absolute Organic Manuka Honey 250+ MGO sachets come in a packet of twelve and are also sold as individual sachets in health food shops - ask your favourite place to range us! We all know how delicious is honey and you can definitely have it straight from the sachet, but there are many other easy ways to add into your diet: use a teaspoon in your morning or afternoon tea, add it to your porridge or muesli or drizzle on top of your fruit salad or banana bread. 20.01.2022 We feel incredibly happy for having the opportunity to support our communities during these hard times, and we are proud to have such an amazing team and custom...ers working with us to make this happen, especially when we receive feedback like this: "Please pass on my sincere thanks for the support and generous donation/s given to The Saint Vincent de Paul Society by Eco-Farms. Firstly of the 10000 bottles of water that were distributed to those in need at Ulladulla, Sussex Inlet and Milton, all on the South Coast of NSW. A big thank you also for the 150 cylinders of organic tea, which became the main ingredient of an Easter Pack, to be distributed to over 100 Residents of The Saint Vincents Aged Care Unit at Auburn, on Easter Sunday. You would be happy/proud to know, that when the items were delivered to the front door, there was a representation of Residents and Staff, behind the doors, clapping and cheering you /us for the gifts and thinking of them." #supportyourcommunity #supportingeachother #thankful #amazingteam #charity

15.01.2022 Our dried apricots are brown because they are 100% organic with no chemicals added. Whilst regular dried apricots look bright and orange, our Absolute Organic D...ried Apricots are dark-brown coloured. The reason why is because there is no sulfur dioxide added to it. Sulfur dioxide (E220-E228) are naturally occurring chemical compounds used as a preservative in dried fruit, wine, beer and some meat products to preserve its colour and extend its shelf-life. According to the British Journal of Diseases of the Chest, when sulfur dioxide is consumed in recommended concentrations by healthy people, it might not be a dangerous substance, but its consumption was linked to asthma when ingested by sensitive subjects, and some side effects like bloating, stomach pain and digestive issues were also related. Another study published by the Oxford Academic also suggests that sulfur dioxide and its derivatives might be systemic toxic agents for the human body. In any case, why not avoid any sorts of chemicals if you can? All Certified Organic food in Australia is not allowed to add any type of sulphur, so whenever possible just choose organic food for you and for your family and you will be sure to avoid any harmful substances. Have you ever noticed this colour difference before? Sources: https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/7426352 https://academic.oup.com/mutage/article/19/6/465/1053289

08.01.2022 Despite the myths that have been circulating on the internet in recent years, the truth is that YES, you definitely can and should be cooking with olive oil ! ...Olive oil has a great smoke point and oxidative stability for cooking, meaning that it is actually a pretty stable fat and will release less harmful compounds than any other oil when heated, according to research published in Acta Scientific Nutritional Health from 2018. The smoke point of olive oil varies from 190C to 220C, depending on the quality of the oil, and the extra-virgin is proven to have a higher smoke point. This means that only after this temperature a bluish smoke becomes clearly visible and volatile compounds start emerging from the oil - note that olive oil contains little water that will evaporate before the smoke point. Another characteristic tested in this research was oxidative stability. 10 oils were heated using two different methods: 1) the oils were heated for about 20 minutes until they reached 240C, and 2) the oils were heated for about 6 hours at 180C. In both methods, olive oil displayed the greatest oxidative stability with lower levels of harmful compounds when compared to other oils that had even higher smoke points. EVOO has demonstrated to be the most stable oil when heated, followed closely by coconut oil and other virgin oils such as avocado and high oleic acid seed oils. Tag a friend who needs to know this and make sure you always have a bottle of Absolute Organic Extra Virgin Olive Oil on your pantry. Happy cooking! 02.01.2022 It honestly amazes us to see how many of you are concerned about our environment and want to be sure to make the best choices for the planet We too care - and... very much - so we'd like to share with you a few more details about this. Did you know that besides our grocery products, we also supply certified organic and Australian fresh produce? Our process starts by checking if the retailer offers only certified organic produce, or both organic and non-organic. If the store is 100% organic, we can supply the food without any wraps/stickers/packaging, and that's great! But usually, most stores supply both variants, and we are required to pack the products for the following reasons: 1) To communicate that the produce is organic 2) To protect from cross-contamination 3) To make sure the price charged at the checkout is correct 4) To preserve the product's quality for longer and extend its shelf-life and reduce waste How do we pack? For our fresh produce range, since 2015 we have removed all styrofoam trays and replaced them with bamboo and paper trays. We also use FSC certified labels, which means that they come from well-managed forests. We pack everything in cardboard boxes and, whenever is possible, we use sugar-cane cling wraps too. We understand the impact that each packaging have on the environment, so please contact us if you have new sustainable packaging solutions available. Although technology might still be an issue, we are always looking for ways to reduce waste in our product range. #freshproduce #organicfood #organicallygrown #absoluteorganic #faq4 #faq #didyouknow #why #loveourplanet #organic
