23.01.2022 Pirate Matt is now back in action: Thank you to everyone for your kindness understanding, help and well wishes during this difficult past week. DID HE LOSE HIS SIGHT???!!??... NO. Thankfully he did not. It is now just blurry and needing a bit of care, protection from the light and a bit more time to heal. WHAT NOW????!!!! We have one more opthamologist (eye Dr) appointment tomorrow and it will give him the all clear. SO IT WASN'T THAT BAD????!!! Yeah, actually, it really was. Burning his eye was was the most intense and prolonged pain that he has ever experienced. THAT HEALED QUICK??!!?? Apparently the Cornea is the fastest healing part of the body.. fun fact! SO YOUR OPEN AGAIN??? Yes. We are business as usual. November is booked and December is filling up fast. Thanks again you wonderful people. The ECO team.

20.01.2022 Final Pirate Matt Update: WHAT HAPPENED??! A bad Alkaline Chemical burn to Matt's Left eye. Please read our previous posts for more. ... HAS YOUR EYE HEALED???!! Mostly. Down from an 8.8mm burn to a few still healing spots. Full vision should be back to normal in the next few weeks. WHAT NOW???!!? He will need to 'keep an eye on it' for another few months applying ointment daily, and being careful. ARE YOU OPEN??!! We are back to business as usual. November is booked out and December filling fast. Thank you once again to all our wonderful customers friends and family. 16.01.2022 WE ARE CLOSED DUE TO INJURY. We are hoping to reopen next week and be business as usual. A HUGE thankyou to our wonderfully understanding clients that have been bumped this week. And family and friends for their best wishes! ... WHAT HAPPENED??!!??! Matt has a bad chemical burn to his left eye. HOW???!!?? Saturday night Matt got a squirt of Castile soap in his eye while showering. It has a high alkaline PH level that burns severely. WHAT DID YOU DO???!!? Multiple 000 calls, 2 ambulances, 3 emergency rooms and a hospital stay in Launceston, with some amazing nurses and Dr's. Lots of painkillers, a Murphy lense saline rinse and lots of checks. Then finally the eye Hospital opened Monday morning and he got to see an ophthalmologist. WILL HE LOSE HIS SIGHT? We hope not. Another appointment today for a checkup and more meds. And we will have a better idea. Wish us well!!
