12.01.2022 Get to know the EcoKleenSolar Redlands North teammeet Belinda & Joshua! 1. How long have you lived in the Redlands area? Both of us have lived in the Redlands our entire lives so together more than 41 years. We were both raised in the Redlands, attending school here and now our own children do also. We have been here our whole lives. Josh was school captain of Ormiston State School back in the 80s, and Belinda even began her career in the local council in the early 2000’s.... We are Redlander’s through and through. Although we have travelled the world we still always come back to where we most call ‘home’. 2. How long have you been in business for yourself? Belinda has been running her own business(s) within the Redlands for more than 11 years; having even built and originally opened Bay Play Cleveland (an indoor playcentre) in the Redlands in 2014, before selling it in 2016. Together though, and more recently, we have been running EcoKleenSolar Redlands North now for almost a year. 3. What do you enjoy about your job? We most love connecting to our neighbours within the Redlands City area and the eco-conscious and sustainable outcomes of our job. Ensuring systems that use free and renewal energy are maintained (ie. solar power) is not only great for the client, financially, but also good for the environment! We also love the fact that we can work to build something together that we can call our own, and in the process, teach our kids the value of hard work and great ethics and customer service. 4. Who or what is your daily inspiration? Our kids! We do everything for them. They are the reason we work as hard as we do, why we chose an eco-conscious company and business practice, and what inspires us every day to be better than we were the day before. 5. What do you like about the Redlands area? Having been in the Redlands since 1979, we have seen the growth and change, but what we love most is the community feel and connections here. It may now be big enough to be considered a ‘city’, but it still feels close-knit and will always be a local ‘shire’ to us. Redlanders support Redlanders and we love that about this place! We also love the closeness to the water and the islands and the ease of access to the city and coasts from here. 6. What do you do to unwind after work? We love to swim and hang out with our kids. Belinda is an avid reader and will bury her nose in a book any chance she gets, while Josh loves any and all sports! We both bowl in a ten-pin bowling league and we love to watch our kids play sports on the weekends and get involved in local events.
