21.01.2022 Aeration What’s it all about? The purpose of aeration is to punch holes through any sub surface thatch and relieve compaction, allowing water and nutrients to pass into the root zone. This leads to improved drainage by allowing water to penetrate the thatch layer, leading to a drier top surface which discourages moss and disease. At ECO-Lawn Care we use the hollow coring (hollow tine) method of aeration, as we have found this gives the best results. Hollow Tine Aeration is th...e process of taking small plugs from the lawn allowing air, water and fertiliser to penetrate to the root zone. This is particularly effective at the beginning and end of the growing season, however at ECO-Lawn Care we always recommend carrying this out in early Spring. Why does my lawn need it?
