25.01.2022 Preciousness right there. It was a joy to come across this mum and bub during a trip to Kangaroo Island, but this was pre-fires. Our Senior Bushfire Consultant (ironically), Cat, took this gorgeous photo to win our staff Photo of the Month comp, but the win wasn't without sadness for the devastating loss of so many Koalas (and all the other animals, vegetation, people, property and places.) Now for the recovery... #koala #australiannativeanimals #PhotooftheMonth
22.01.2022 With the announcements this week from the government regarding retail and services reopening, we are excited to be seeing our local businesses reopening again! We are most excited to be able to support local business and dine at our favourite locations again. Our team is looking forward to continuing our work with our clients as things begin to return to normal. As always, our focus remains on the safety of our team and our clients at all times, and we will proceed with our usual safety measures in place. #melbourne #ecology #heritage #naturalheritage #culturalheritage

14.01.2022 Today is World Wetlands Day! This day commemorates the signing of the Convention on Wetlands of International Importance, or the Ramsar Convention, in 1971. Wetlands are of vital importance to our ecosystem and natural heritage, and this day reminds us why we protect our wetlands and the life within them. It’s the 50th Anniversary this year, and all around Australia there are events where you can get involved in the World Wetlands Day events. 12.01.2022 This International Women's Day we acknowledge the incredible contribution of women across the globe. The theme for 2020 is Generation Equality. This is a call to action for generations to join forces, to create a world where every girl and woman has equal opportunities to fulfil their full potential. Equal access to education and income are central to levelling the playing field for all people around the world. At Ecology and Heritage Partners fifty percent of our team are fe...male with women working across all areas and levels of the organisation. We value every person's unique abilities and contributions, and support each staff member, male or female, to find work-life balance whether it be through flexible work arrangements or leave to support family. As you can see, Oona Nicolson (Director), Racheal Minos (Senior Heritage Advisor) and Annie Ayres (Cultural Heritage Team Leader), were excited to be part of the inspiring Business Chicks Australia International Women's Day celebrations. #equality #womensday #iwd2020 #EachForEqual

04.01.2022 It's National Archaeology Week! And time to introduce some of our wonderful archaeologists. Meet Ilona Bartsch. Ilona is a Heritage Advisor/Archaeologist in our Melbourne team. She's one part fieldwork gun, one part report writing/problem solving/deadline smashing guru. In this job you get to work in many different locations across Australia with a range of Traditional Owners, which Ilona loves. She also finds solving the challenges of each project a highlight, and especially... enjoys working with clients on their projects from conception to completion. As you can see, Fieldwork Ilona clearly enjoys her job. Office Ilona is pretty happy about this side of things too! #nationalarchaeologyweek #2020NAW #archaeology #archaeologist #heritageadvisor #culturalheritage #historicalheritage #lovewhatyoudo

01.01.2022 Heritage Advisors, Racheal Minos and Dr Meredith Filihia, were proud to attend the opening of the redeveloped Geelong Arts Centre on 11th November. Our team worked on the archaeological excavation of the former Geelong Mechanics Institute that occupied the site from 1855. Hundreds of artefacts were uncovered including a juvenile elephant leg bone! Nikki McKenzie from Wadawurrung performed the Welcome to Country to officially open proceedings. Actor Lisa McCune was MC and li...ke many, she was fascinated by the elephant bone find. Congratulations to all involved in the construction of the new Arts Centre.
