25.01.2022 It’s the last day of Australian Pollinator Week but it’s not too late to participate in the pollinator count. Click the link to find out how you can help with this science project. www.wildpollinatorcount.com

25.01.2022 Growing from seed is one of the most rewarding things to do as a gardener. Why not give it a go this weekend? Remember to water them in with eco-seaweed to improve germination and once the seedlings are up push them along faster with some eco-aminogro!

25.01.2022 Anyone a fan of indoor plants? Then take a look at the phenomenal growth Dan has had when using eco-seaweed combined with eco-aminogro!!! So much growth and during the middle of a Melbourne winter. This is why we love our products so much. Both are available from Bunnings and other retailers. Thanks Dan for sharing with us :)

24.01.2022 Found this unusual looking bug today in the garden and immediately wondered if it is the dreaded brown marmorated stink bug. We’ve emailed some photos to NSW DPI Biosecurity for an assessment. If you spot something unusual in your gardens (pest, disease or weed) call 1800 084 881 for your state biosecurity body to investigate. They rely heavily on members of the public to let them know of incursions.

22.01.2022 Spotted a new variety of kiwi fruit at the supermarket and had to try them. Called Red Kiwi they did have a bit of a red tinge inside but the bigger surprise was the extra sweetness. Almost with a strawberry jam flavour! Anyone else tried them?

22.01.2022 Feeling energetic? Then sharpen up your secateurs and get pruning today. A light prune of plants which had a flush of spring blooms will remove all the spent flower heads and encourage dense growth. For some plants you’ll then get another round of flowers in a few weeks (like with roses) but for most you’ll just have a tidier looking plant which isn’t such a bad thing

21.01.2022 Exciting to see (and hear) our very own horticultural expert Steve Falcioni featured on the very popular All The Dirt - Gardening Podcast

21.01.2022 Sneak peek into one of the projects we’ve got happening in our commercial division

19.01.2022 Who’s feeling crafty for Halloween?

19.01.2022 Great news. Our Slasher promotion for commercial users is now live. If you know anyone who’s a commercial grower, council worker or runs their own gardening business then this is for them!

18.01.2022 Got a plant that’s just failing to thrive? Then you could have hungry curl grubs feeding on its roots as Bean There Dug That discovered. Dig them out (if practical) or drench the soil with eco-neem for an organic fix!

18.01.2022 Powdery mildew alert! As we move into spring it's very common for cool season plants to suffer from powdery mildew. Watch your plants closely (especially annuals and veggies) and spray with eco-fungicide at the first sign of disease. It's organic, has no withholding period and won't harm bees. Perfect!

17.01.2022 You know that spring is almost here when the jasmine starts popping open!

16.01.2022 Remember to practice good hygiene with your fruit trees. Always remove diseased or damaged fruit quickly and collect any which have fallen on the ground. This helps to reduce future disease and pest outbreaks.

15.01.2022 Anyone else enjoying their own blueberries right now?

15.01.2022 If you’re growing garlic and onions be on high alert for black aphids sucking the goodness out of your plants! Pictured below are some hungry aphids clustered on the stem of garlic. Spray with eco-oil for organic control without harming your bees or ladybeetles

14.01.2022 You know it’s spring when you see aphids and ladybeetles like this!

14.01.2022 Great research work being done to help develop new control methods for the Qld fruit fly. For now though if you live in a region with these pesky flies hang your eco-lure trap (with a fresh wick) to monitor for their presence and then start protecting fruit with eco-naturalure.

13.01.2022 Gardenias are looking (and smelling) amazing right now To keep yours looking good remember these are hungry plants and benefit from being fed regularly. Be generous with your applications of eco-aminogro and eco-seaweed and you’ll keep your bushes looking tip top!

13.01.2022 If you’ve got new foliage on any of your citrus (like the kaffir lime below) then grab yourself an eco-CLM Trap to protect the leaves against the citrus leafminer. This pest burrows into new leaves causing curling and distortion as they feed. The eco-CLM Trap will last 2-3 months and is approved for use in organic gardens with no withholding period

13.01.2022 Want an easy way to recycle kitchen scraps? Then check out Chloe’s tips on cold composting. It’s an easier way to compost compared to the hot method and works well if you haven’t got a lot of space.

13.01.2022 We’re ridiculously excited to learn that Australia will have a national plastic pot recycling scheme up and running within the next 12 months!!!! Yep there’ll be a website outlining drop off locations and include statistics on the total volume of plastic recycled. The scheme will be for polypropylene plastic (PP5) so pots, labels and stakes can all be recycled. Great work by several industry players including Garden City Plastics, Norwood Industries, Greenlife Industry Australia - GIA, Polymer Processors and Astron Sustainability.

13.01.2022 Spring is the perfect time to grow leafy greens and there’s loads to choose from like the red mustard shown below. Whatever you grow remember to give them fortnightly doses of eco-seaweed and eco-aminogro to promote plenty of growth so you’ll get lots of tasty leaves to pick

11.01.2022 Spider mite damage! These tiny little guys suck the life out of your plants often to the point where the plant will die if untreated. They also breed like crazy and attack a huge range of plants (indoors and out) which is why they’re a major pest. Don’t let the damage get this bad as it’s virtually impossible to save a plant like this. Instead spray thoroughly with eco-oil or eco-neem at the first sign of damage (look for speckling on the foliage). Do a repeat spray a few days later and then watch your plants very closely for any fresh damage. Check nearby plants too.

09.01.2022 Ever wondered what slug eggs look like? Well now you know!

08.01.2022 Have you noticed little windows appearing on the leaves of plants like the geranium in the video? They’re created by small caterpillars partially eating through the leaf. When they get bigger they eat all the way through creating complete holes. Protect plants with eco-neem to kill the caterpillars but without harming bees or ladybeetles

07.01.2022 Anyone else looking forward to their summer flowers like Anna below? On a cold wintery night who wouldn’t be dreaming of big bold dahlia blooms...helped along with a few of our organic products Thanks for sharing Anna Cama we love your dahlias

03.01.2022 Fancy growing your own turmeric? Now’s the time to plant the rhizome into some rich free draining soil or premium potting mix. Position in a spot which gets morning sun or bright dappled light all day and feed fortnightly with eco-aminogro and eco-seaweed. Come autumn the foliage will start to wither and you can then harvest your bounty. Simples

01.01.2022 Have you pruned your fuchsias yet? A hard winter prune encourages lots of new growth in spring which makes for a denser bush with more elegant flowers

01.01.2022 Not long before kangaroo paws will be bursting into bloom with their iconic furry flowers! For the best show possible remember to water them now to prevent the developing buds turning dry before opening.
