22.01.2022 Woolworths is playing with fire and beekeepers are furious with the supermarket chain because it has given premium shelf space to a Texas Honey Packing Corporat...ion that is being sued in America for lying on their labels. Nature Nates is accused of selling heated honey as raw honey and questions are being asked about its use of the terms pure and unfiltered. According to the company they strain the honey but not filter it which many consumers find misleading. https://youtu.be/wMdyqT1yC4I https://topclassactions.com//881041-nature-nates-class-ac/ Most Supermarket honeys have to be heated because to pack honey into containers it first must go through pipes. To be considered raw honey the honey should not be heated over 38 degrees as thats the hottest is likely to ever get inside a beehive. Raw honey is honey that hasnt been heated or pasteurised , and it contains natural vitamins, enzymes, powerful antioxidants, and other important nutrients. Raw honey has anti-bacterial, anti-viral, and anti-fungal properties, and promotes digestive health. Raw, local honey also contains a blend of local pollen, which can strengthen a persons immune system, and reduce pollen allergy symptoms. If a coarse strainer is used without heating, then the honey will contain the #pollen that was present in the original honey from the local area. By supporting #local honey producers, you can verify that the honey youre purchasing is truly raw and has the beneficial properties that humans have used for centuries to treat many ailments. However, most commercial honey use very fine filters and heat the honey to interfere with the natural crystallising process so it remains liquid longer on the shelf. The pasteurised, and ultra-filtered honey does not have the nutritional benefits of raw honey. 10.01.2022 Bega LTD, the second largest shareholder in Capilano LTD, has announced it will sell out and support a take over by a China focused consortium of private invest...ors. The consortium of Wattle Hill and ROC Capital, called Bravo BidCo are reported to be crafting a deal that will see them receive 100 per cent of Capilano shares valued at approximately 198.6 million. It was speculated that Bega were intent on buying Capilano Ltd six months ago but have possibly become wary of connecting themselves with Capilano Ltd after the Fairfax Media #honeylaundering expose http://www.abc.net.au//capilano-and-supermarkets-/10187628 Shrewd Chinese businessman Mr Albert Tse, who has links to the Australian Labor party, will be delighted. Mr Tse fled to Australia in 2014 to escape the pollution in Beijing. https://www.afr.com//jessica-rudd-and-albert-tse-start-an- Consortium player Wattle Hill RCH was founded by Mr Tse (husband of former prime minister Kevin Rudds daughter Jessica Rudd) to capitalise on the insatiable demand by Chinas middle class for clean and safe products made in Australia and New Zealand. In effect this means pristine Australian honey will go direct to China while at the same time Capilano Ltd will continue to import Chinese honey to sell to Australians Australian beekeepers are furious that the limited apiary sites which have been bought up by Capilano Ltd will now potentially be owned by the Asian consortium. Local beekeeper Ben Moore from Bens Bees said I would like to think the future of beekeeping in Australia is not in a corporation owning 1,000,000 hives, rather thousands of smaller family owned apiaries doing well out of honey and contributing to pollination "Ben urges people to buy honey from their local beekeeper direct. 10.01.2022 Gday Mr Morrison, I trust that you are fine, Sorry to be bothering you, but theres something on my mind I listened to a bloke last week; he had a bit to say Y...ou lot may have heard of him? He delivers all that hay? He spoke of countless hours and the distances they drive Feeding starving stock, to keep bush hopes alive They do not get assistance from your tax funded hat They do it on their own, all off their own bat Im not politically minded and I dont have any clout And I know youve done a tour, to learn about the drought But theres just some burning questions, that have left us feeling beat Why did we fund a foreign land, to learn to cut up meat? And what about those soccer boys, who went and got all lost You pulled out all the bloody stops, plain just showing off Youve bigger problems here at home, theres drought up to our necks So what does your mob go and do ? Give them big fat cheques! Dont they have a government to deal with all this stuff? Why should it be up to us, whats with all your fuss? Should we not be reigning in and look after our own Have you never heard the phrase charity starts at home? I realise theres many things, that need an allocation And I also can appreciate, complex trade relations Im not sure if you realise, but if our stock all die, There wont be any trade you see, your deals will all run dry As a rule were not a whinging lot, our requests are but a few Most of us who work the land, are tested, tried and true We respect that we are guardians, and sustain it for the kids But I often have to wonder, what future will it bring? I guess all that Im wondering, is wheres the Aussie aid? Wrapped up in a swag of tape, only then to be repaid ! Theres Aussie blokes and chicks out there, putting you to shame Helping fellow Australians, in their time of pain Im just a simple farmer, grazier, wife and mum And even though were feeding stock, were better off than some Ive never had to shoot a cow, who could no longer stand But many have before me, and I pray, Im not dealt that hand So will you take another look; admit that were in strife ? And do more than bloody empathise, before another farmer takes their life ? Id like to think youll do whats right and put Australia first And help your own damn country, before this drought gets any worse Joanna Collett Wee Waa NSW ..... I would like everyone on my Facebook page to copy this and share it Everyday until something is done. Save our Aussie farmers and communities that are doing it tough !! Charity starts at home!

09.01.2022 Weed-killer glyphosate have been found in New Zealand honey, prompting concern for the high-value mnuka industry. Their first round of testing took place in 2...015 and 2016 and saw 300 mostly raw and unprocessed samples gathered from all over the country. They later found 67 of them, or 22.3 per cent, contained small traces of glyphosate and 5 of those, or 1.7 per cent, were over our regulatory limits. A second test, conducted in 2018 and 2019, found traces in 11 of 60 packaged mnuka honey products available openly for sale. An unnamed New Zealand producer began an investigation in 2018, when glyphosate was detected in its honey in an overseas retail market, and went on to find honey with glyphosate levels above New Zealands regulatory limits. Their investigation into the detections found residues present in unprocessed honey at levels above the New Zealand default maximum residue limit. The MPI study expands on this and found the contamination is likely caused by bees visiting flowering plants that have been sprayed with glyphosate. It says there is very little beekeepers can do to limit exposure as the chemical is widely used. Beekeepers also have little practical means of excluding bees from foraging on plants treated with glyphosate. Its tainted, and its not the beekeepers fault, its the fault of a regulatory environment that doesnt control it enough. If New Zealand wants to be a cheap commodity producer, producing tainted food, then thats New Zealand choice, or we can actually have stronger regulation, which protects our free market. Its a headache for big mnuka exporters like who have been selling contaminated honey as a pure product sometimes for more than $200 a jar. Consumers, we understand, dont want to see any residues in their honey, and neither do we. Petition www.change.org/Glyphosate https://www.google.com.au//JTJGY29udGVudCUyRnR2bnolMkZvbmV

07.01.2022 Shockwaves are vibrating through the Australian beekeeping industry with an announcement by Hive and Wellness formerly Capilano limited they will resume importi...ng honey. Beekeepers are furious at the decision that is likely to have an effect on the wholesale domestic honey price. The honey price has increased since the Corporation stopped selling Allowrie brand that contained Chinese ingredients. https://www.google.com.au/a/amp.abc.net.au/article/10187628 In the announcements you can read below Hive and wellness under its new ceo Ryan dAlmeida said the imported honey will be sourced from South America and blended with some Australian honey. They new cheap honey would be sold under the brand Cloverdale and will be available at Woolworths and other supermarkets. https://mailchi.mp/hivew/decision-regarding-imported-honey Australian beekeepers, some that are recovering from bushfires and drought need all the help they can get. Please only buy 100 percent Australian honey and demand Woolworths stop selling this imported crap. Please sign the petition http://change.org/honeylabelling Please continue to support your local beekeeper you can find them on the honeymap. https://www.beethecure.com.au/honey-map-2/ Please share so consumers boycott this product and buy 100 percent Australian honey.

07.01.2022 On 10 December 2018 Capilano Honey Limited was officially delisted from the Australian Stock Exchange. A private equity group specialising in China-focused agri...cultural exports has taken over Capilano Ltd and turned it into a private company. Why did the Chinese aligned consortium known as Wattle Hill RHC Fund 1 and ROC Capital Pty Ltd pay $200 million dollars for Capilano and make it a private company after the the 7.30 report / Fairfax media fake honey expos and the competition watchdog ACCCs investigation? Because Capilano Ltd will now make a fortune for its shareholders selling premium Australian honey to China and be free to operate without the ASX monitoring its corporate behaviour. Capilano Ltd CEO Ben McKee told Fairfax media prior to the take over: "I think the privatised model for a company our size is more suited, than the current listed model. (Privatised) we can take long-term investments in markets and developing markets, rather than having our results analysed every six months. It is clear that Wattle Hills Mr Albert Tse is now calling the shots. The Chinese aligned consortium he heads up now owns Capilano Ltd. This includes apiary sites from Queensland to Western Australia. The company is transforming into a honey marketing vehicle focused on upper middle class Chinese customers who cant get enough of our pure natural resources. "We want to create products with a higher margins Mr Tse said. "Asian and Chinese consumers see this as a wellness product... and are therefore happy to pay a higher price for it. Ben McKee from Capilano Ltd has assured Chinese consumers that Capilano Ltd will only ever sell Australian honey to the Chinese but has not given a guarantee to Australian consumers that his company will not sell Australians honey blended with foreign honey. Coles supermarkets have stopped selling imported blends however Woolworths is still selling blends riddled with imported honey. Despite 180,000 signatures on a petition honey in Australia still is not required to display which country the honey is from. http://change.org/honeylabelling The same consortium that sells premium Australian honey to China blends imported honey with Australian and sells it to Australian consumers using subsidiary brands including Allowrie, and "home brands. It is now more important than ever for Australians to buy honey from their local beekeeper direct. If you dont already have a local legend supplying you honey use the honeymap to identify one and go and say gday goo.gl/vfhcQs Sharing will save the bees. 03.01.2022 Beehives Stolen We would like to alert the general community, beekeepers, government officials and anyone interested to keep an eye out for our hives. The hi...ves were stolen on the March long weekend (most likely Sunday the 8th). Any new hives appearing in your neighbourhood, any unusual bee activity might give away their new location? Potential purchasers should take care when offered hives for sale as all our hives are made to a unique design and can be recognised quite easily. There are a number of photos attached to assist in recognition. Key points: the hives are wider than normal (10 frame) Langstroth full depth 240mm and Manley 168mm deep with frame spacers fitted. Some boxes have been branded THC (Tasmanian Honey Co.) in a hexagonal pattern. Painted in a variety of colours green, light blue, dark blue yellow or are the natural wood that is wax dipped. There are several 3-way nucleus hives missing as well. These are queen breeding hives. Each unit has three separate individual boxes containing 3 frames. The lid is also a feeder for the unit. They were painted in an array of colours (see the photos attached). A substantial reward will be paid for any information leading to their recovery. Please feel free to share our post! Thankyou

01.01.2022 Thanks Honey Tasmania and all the other beekeepers that have donated raw honey to help suffering animals that have been burnt in the fires. Also thanks @paigelh...arris for orchestrating this and finding the animal clinics in need. How to use honey for Burn Victims. In minor burns, it is recommended to pour water immediately on burns, as this reduces the temperature. Afterwards, honey can be applied. Depending on the area, 15-30 ml of honey can be applied directly onto the burn wound or soaked in gauze before application. Occlusive or absorbent secondary dressings are applied to prevent honey from oozing out, and the frequency of dressing changes depends on how rapidly the honey is diluted by the exudate, which declines as treatment progresses. Honeys anti-bacterial action, low pH, high viscosity, hygroscopic effect, and its hydrogen peroxide content all play a combined role in honeys effectiveness in burns treatment. Honey provides a moist environment for optimum healing conditions. All raw honey should be effective but the nurses I have spoken to tend to use jarrah from WA or Leptospernum honey (manuka). #savethebees #beethecure
