25.01.2022 Hey guys. For those that have review of plans coming up remember we are going into a busy period and people take holidays. NDIA and Feros are no different and they deserve a break also. So normally a few months before the end of your current plan you need to contact ndia to arrange a review meeting. You take in any recent reports you have. Any recommendations from providers Any info you think is relevant. The more prepared you are the better. You are your childs biggest advocate and your own biggest advocate. So go in Knowing what you want and need. Have evidence to back up why you want it (if you can) once this meeting is in place, they should extend out your current plan for a month or 2 until the new one is ready. Goodluck

25.01.2022 IMPORTANT INFORMATION REGARDING COVID-19 Empowering Futures would like to let you know some services we have put in place to assist you with getting through the Coronavirus and any lockdowns through isolation whether this is self-isolation or government lock-ins. How are you coping and managing so far?... Are you managing to do some shopping? Is this something we can assist you with? We can get a shopping list, shop on your behalf and then bring it back and sterilise cans, jars and packets. Unfortunately, fresh fruit and veg are out of our control. We can purchase them but cant sterilise them. We will be doing some 1:1 service to assist with good mental health and wellbeing. We will be using good hygiene measures and sticking with social distancing to ensure our safety and yours at all times. It is important you let us know if you are unwell. * These include: Going for walks, doing some in house exercise and stretches, playing games, doing activities, social visits. We can put you on a phone checklist. We will phone you on the days we do not visit and check you and your family are okay. We are setting up an online workshop including, dance, exercise and fitness, cooking, computing, creative arts and more. These will run on set days and times to be confirmed once we have numbers. We will send you a link to your phone, computer or iPad so you can join in. Days and times will be confirmed once we know the numbers for each workshop. Workshop choices: Dance with Ella Exercise and fitness with Teash Creative arts with Hans Computing with Sungdae Cooking with EF staff Guitar with David Languages with the team If you need to continue working, we can look after your children in the safety of your own home. If they have a behaviour support plan there will need to be strict guidelines in place. You need to tell us should you have a sickness and allow us to take temperatures with our forehead thermometer. We can assist with homework We are also setting up a participant Facebook page and group chat so participants can keep in touch with their friends from Empowering Futures. 24.01.2022 Coronavirus information for Empowering Futures participants, staff, families and friends. This is to inform you that Empowering Futures is continuing to operate normally until the unforeseen circumstance arise and we also would like to tell that at Empowering Futures protecting our participants and staff is our utmost priority. We are taking on all the safety precautions and recommendations from the Department of Health and the WHO. As the novel coronavirus (COVID-19) contin...ues to spread, we want to let you know what Empowering Futures is doing to respond. As a general protocol, anyone experiencing flu symptoms or widespread illness will need a doctors certificate before resuming services due to the outbreak of coronavirus. We have lots of vulnerable people at empowering futures and need to do our part to keep everyone safe. While attending programs and travelling in staff vehicles, hygiene measures will be put in place. For the safety of all until national clearance on the coronavirus is made, restrictions will be put in place regarding community venues. In an attempt to lower risk and reduce isolation, Daily activities and programs will be set up at the Empowering Futures house.

Our vision is to empower people with a disability to make their own life choices and achieve maximum independence and play an active part in their community through increased social and community inclusion. Empowering futures represents respect, dignity, equality and social justice.... We are having a Christmas party and graduation to celebrate the amazing achievements that our participants have had throughout this year. A day full of fun, music, games, food and lots of laughs. 08.01.2022 Did you know that the name Morialta comes from the Kaurna word moriatta, meaning ever-flowing like the falls at Morialta Conservation Park? Our empowered friends visited this beautiful park and enjoyed hiking. All green creatures inspired and connected our friends with nature.
