25.01.2022 Great news for people suffering from past trauma! We’ve just been reviewing an interesting paper on using the Rewind Technique to resolve post-traumatic stress (PTSD) symptoms. Effective Reality uses the rewind technique with great success on clients suffering from trauma and stress, so it’s good to find supporting data from peers in the industry. Some key takeaways:... Guy and Guy report that the technique (renamed by Muss (1991, 2002) as the rewind technique) was applied to thirty people between 2000 and 2002. All were diagnosed with PTSD or partial PTSD. Participants were interviewed ten days post-treatment. Forty percent adjudged their improvement as extremely successful, 53 percent as successful and 7 percent as acceptable. None rated the treatment either as poor or as a failure (Guy and Guy, 2003). Reread that again! 93% rated the treatment as successful or extremely successful and the other 7% as acceptable! Unlike other treatments for phobias or PTSD, the [Rewind Technique] either eliminates the memory completely, or leaves the memory intact but without traumatic affect so that the client can now talk about it without distress. In other treatments, especially exposure treatments, this does not happen and the results tend to be impermanent. It is our personal view that many talking therapies (whereby people repeatedly talk through their rape, car crash, mugging or any of the many incidents that cause trauma) may possibly further entrench the trauma due to reinforcement. At Effective Reality we’ll continue to use the Rewind Technique, further reinforced by the extremely positive and supportive data in this paper. Great news for local ambos, police, prison guards, firemen or in fact anyone who has suffered a traumatic event that is impacting their quality of life. 23.01.2022 An extremely effective tool for making change - one we use at Effective Reality regularly, as a part of a broader change process. Good to see it explained so well.

18.01.2022 Given that Australia is having a National Day of Action against Bullying and Violence in three days, this article is poignant and relevant. Too often I see and successfully treat adults still struggling with bullying and intimidation that occurred during their school years. Often they are not aware of the root cause of their presenting issue until we begin hypnotherapy. Lets not allow our youngsters to battle in the same way. As adults and leaders we must model the behaviours we expect from our children and have a zero tolerance for bullying and violence, whether in the school-yard, on the sports field, in the office or in our day-to-day interactions.
