22.01.2022 Piper-Heidseick have a long term partnership with the Oscars and will be exclusively served in magnums during the ceremony, the Governors Ball, and the Academy's official afterparty in the Ray Dolby Ballroom on the top level of the Hollywood & Highland Center. This year, the limited edition label is a tribute to the 100th anniversary of Prohibition. The label on the house's signature cuvée brut will be a replica of the one used during the Prohibition era. 08.01.2022 Visiting Reims, you will be enthralled by the presence of the Subé Fountain at the Place D'Erlon. Particularly spectacular at night time, this golden fountain was constructed in 1906 and stands 17m tall. It was named after Auguste Subé , who donated 200,000 gold francs for its construction. At the base of the pedestal, four statues represent the region's rivers : Marne, Vesle, Suippe and Aisne rivers. But it is 'the Victory', breathtakingly beautiful with her bronze wings at ...the summit that will capture your imagination. 03.01.2022 #Repost @saraunderdown Some interesting news from Champagne, on the issue of shipments for 2020. Despite an 18% drop in the number of bottles exported globally, Australia proved resilient even buoyant with growth in volume by 14 percent. It’s particularly salient given the demise of Champagne’s three leading markets the United States, United Kingdom and Japan - which have dropped between 20 and 28 percent. Champagne’s other strong markets, across continental Europe..., have also suffered, although not as badly. I’ve had many conversations with Aussie importers and distributors for champagne since COVID and the feedback is pretty much the same from all demand is incredibly strong, often outstripping supply. Shelves and orders, for some,remain unfilled on account of limited supply and/or hold-ups at bottlenecked ports and freight routes. This is all good news, of course, and no doubt provides some comfort to producers in an otherwise impossible situation. We’ve been fortunate to live in Australia during the pandemic. Despite some ups and downs, they have been relatively minor when compared to the rest of the world. For champagne, it has found its home here, a symbol for remembering the joy of life and never more important than now. It’s been a privilege to share this appreciation, and the drink we love so much, at events and other things that I do. 02.01.2022 CoVid has made 2020 a difficult year on many levels for many people. However, despite dealing with the pandemic, it's estimated more than 19800 women will be diagnosed with breast cancer - that's 53 women on any given day. Sadly, during the year 2700 will loose their fight. I started my annual Blush lunch at Hanworth House with the hope of using it as a platform the raise much needed funds for the Mater Foundation Chicks in Pink to help women affected by Breast Cancer. To date we have raised over $12500. This year's event was severely impacted by the CoVid restrictions and sold out in a matter of weeks. You could still be part of our fundraising effort by donating to this page, even if you can't make the lunch.
