24.01.2022 Eastern Hills Community Development Program is back Monday 27th July, 2 sessions 5pm -6pm & 6pm -7pm @ St Francis De Sales College Eastern Hills Basketball are running a Community Athlete Development Program (C.A.D.P) starting in Term 3. The C.A.D.P is an SA Country Basketball fundamental skills development program, which is aimed at increasing fundamental skills for athletes who are looking for extra development opportunities outside of training and/or game commitments.... Training sessions will be held every Monday starting 27th July 2020 until the end of the term. All players must register and pay the one- off payment of $50 for the term payable via link below. EXPRESSION OF INTEREST FOR PLAYERS We invite all U12-U16 players who are looking for development opportunities to enable you to improve your skills and fundamentals. What to expect: Athletes will attend weekly 1-hour sessions for the entire term (9 weeks) Athletes will need to register for program Player Criteria: Must be U12, U14 or U16. Male or females can apply Must be able to commit to program for entire term Must be registered and playing with association affiliated with SA Country Basketball. 23.01.2022 URGENT EHBA & Hornets Teams News we have all been dreading for the last 3 or 4 months, with the Government announcing this afternoon that indoor sport is cancelled for at least the next 2 weeks. What this means for us is no training or games for either the EHBA or any club sides until further notice, and sadly it seems that the Barossa carnival is now cancelled for this weekend. We will continue to provide more info as it comes up, but there will be no games tonight as Ex...ecutive Committee has decided to cancel immediately and it will remain so until further notice. 21.01.2022 EHBA Hot Weather Policy. The EHBA Hot Weather Policy is based on the predicted temperature for Mount Barker as promulgated on the Bureau of Meteorology website www.bom.gov.au/weather/sa/ at 4pm on the day prior to the relevant competition. Modified Timings will apply when the temperature is 34 to 37?C inclusive.... All coaches are to use their two time-outs per half and the referees are to call one (1) referee's time-out per quarter. Games will be Cancelled when the temperature is 38?C and above. Applicable to all age groups, grades and all stadiums.

Please note t...his will not have any impact on the upcoming EADP trials, and selected athletes will be provided a development event in January. The details of this event are being finalised and will be communicated in due course. SACBCI supports the decision of the ACJBC to cancel the 2021 event, and we look forward to attending the Cup in 2022. See more

12.01.2022 There was a high school coach in Texas, where he was also the head of the middle school program (that is how it works in Texas). This coach was known for the re...lationships that he builds with the kids that he coaches, and the impact that he has in their lives. A couple of ways that he does that is by not turning any athlete away and by finding a specific spot and role for every athlete on the team. They said that he gives every athlete a position and role, he encourages and inspires them, and he teaches them how to master their role. Being intentional like this helps make every athlete feel valued and important. They give it their all because they are completely bought in. They perform their job at a high level because they have been taught how and they know what is expected of them. Now, that role might be the 3rd person from the right on the 3rd string kick-off team, but imagine how disciplined a team is if the buy-in, instruction, expectations, and the relationships run that deep? 07.01.2022 **Summer Season Update From EHBA** Hello All, Unfortunately I do not come with the best news for some. ... I have been in consultation with the School Principal-Gavin Mclaughlin, Stadium Manager - John Humphris and unfortunately based on the details not being released at 2:50pm today the school will not authorise us entry until these modifications have been released. So with this i have made my decision to vote with Scenario 4 - Season breaking effective immediately. My reasons for doing this are in the fairness of all competitions of the competition, the short timeframe to get referees, supervisors and COVID-19 Marshalls organised and up to scratch on the modified restrictions. I know that some will be disappointed with this decision. However, the best interest of the entire association is at the front of my mind. We look forward to seeing you back in the new year of 2021 and hope we do not have to encounter anything like this again. Kind regards, Brett Johns EHBA President

06.01.2022 Hello All EHBA Members, You must be wondering what is happening with the summer season. All clubs were given four scenarios to have input into the fate of the season. Those four scenarios are listed below. Scenario 1:... Games commence on Tuesday 1st of December and season breaks at the closure of the final game on Thursday 3rd of December. Scenario 2: With Monday nights having the biggest hit due to lockdown and public holidays through the season - Games that were scheduled to be played on Monday the 30th of November can be played on Monday 7th of December. Scenario 3: Push out the season by 1 week and break as of Thursday 10th of December (This means all competitions will be able to catch up at least one week. Please also bear in mind that this is the final week of school) Scenario 4: Season Breaks effective immediately and we return fresh in the new year. The responses have been audited and we have a tie between Scenario 2 & 4. Myself as President did not cast a vote as my vote would be used in the event of a situation like this as per our Constitution. Based on the release (Shown below) by the Office for Recreation, Sport & Racing. I am yet to make my decision based on this information. Yes, competition can resume - However, there will be modifications that need to be in place to minimise the risk of Infection and Transmission. Once this update is released tomorrow i will then make my final decision on the two scenarios. I understand this is frustrating and we are all eager to return to play for the final week. However, the association needs to be ready and have the relevant support in order to return. A communication will be sent via the portal to all members and clubs once a decision is made.
