With the right spring rate and CTS combo, the Mod can be dialed in to smooth some of the roughest trail out there. 10.01.2022 Lovely Mini-Review of the new SQlab 612r by one happy new saddle owner SQlab. * * * Despite the arrival of a NOS Flite Carbonio, for the last few rides I have had this new @sqlab 612 #ErgoWave R Carbon mounted on my #C40. I have been a fan of the SQlab saddles since I first reviewed them for #CycleEXIF around 4yrs ago. Krischan at @eightyonespices dropped me a line when he got this one in stock and I bought it straight away.... Shorter, narrower and lighter than my previous 612 ErgoWave Carbon and with an extended pressure relief dip, this 140mm wide version comes in at only 130g (the 120mm & 130mm versions are even lighter). The cover is grippy too, which helps maintain position when youre digging deep. I dont review stuff anymore (hence paying my own hard-earned for this one), but consider this a mini-review. Im really loving this new model. 03.01.2022 Formula CURA4 Review on MTB-News.de: "The better modulation properties a brake has, the easier it is to handle difficult trail conditions or slow pace passages where good balance and extremely accurate braking performance is needed - where you need to apply fine modulated braking force to the trail surface, you are better off with such a brake. Here, Formula is positioned high up in the the currant range of four-piston brake offerings on the market built for downhill use. In ...difficult conditions on steep trails, it was easy to stay in control with the Cura 4 - the certainty that nothing will surprise you can be converted 1: 1 into higher speeds. The modulation is also very important with regard to the braking force. A lot of power also needs to be put on the ground so that the tire does not lose traction, but effectively contributes to slowing down. The Cura 4 has both enough power as well as excellent fingertip feeling directly after bedding the pads in - the first stoppie attempts almost ended in misfortune. The Italian four-piston brake leaves nothing to be desired with its combination of silky smooth lever feel and excellent modulation right through to an anchor throw. The polished brake is carefree and always provided joy during the test period. On long descents, the brake did not produce any noise, no vibrations was noticed, everything was as it should be. Just as stress-free: long descents or hard braking in terms of heat development and brake stability. There were no critical situations in this regard, neither with the large 203 mm rotors nor with the smaller 180 mm rotors (note: Formula also have massive 220mm rotors for those that still want more). This enables Formulas Cura 4 to compete well with the other four-piston brakes on the market. With its pleasant modulation, it is a tick ahead of the brakes from Shimano and SRAM and is not inferior to them when it comes to braking power. The pads are slightly more expensive to buy, but the rotors on the other hand are less than offerings from SRAM for example. Neither the metallic nor the organic pads wear out remarkably quickly. We liked both pad variants and could not find any weaknesses with either option. This makes the Formula Cura 4 a real competitive alternative to the top dogs on the market."
