25.01.2022 Thank you to Teresa class for helping out with our #socktober Kick Off Day yesterday. In Religious Education this month, the students at EOCC have been participating in Socktober. The students have learned about how their brothers and sisters around the world play the game of soccer and about life in Cambodia and other developing countries. Each class also made their own recycled ‘sockball’ a replica of the type of ball thousands of children throughout the world use each d...ay, and had fun using them to play soccer. If you’d like to make a sockball of your own check out this video from Catholic Mission https://youtu.be/MPLnuvW7XFo. #eocclewisham

25.01.2022 If you have time today, please consider voting for this documentary created by Sam's brother Sebastian. The Focus on Ability Short Film Festival asks film makers to 'Focus on the Ability' of people with a disability and tell a story on film for the world to view.

24.01.2022 Spotted on the EOCC playgrounds... Proloquo2Go Crescendo quick communication boards! All students at EOCC have access to the Augmentative and Alternative Communication (AAC) application Proloquo2Go on their iPads. The large format boards on the playground support our AAC users by allowing the teachers to model and students to use the core vocabulary, even when an iPad isn’t on hand. #eocclewisham #communicationboard #proloquo2go

24.01.2022 This term Aquinas class have been raising money for the Vinnies NSW Christmas Appeal. This video explains just how they plan on doing that since they 'never see a need without doing something about it'. Donations for hampers are due by the end of this week. Thanks for your support of this initiative. #eocclewisham

23.01.2022 This term Teresa class have been exploring photography in their Visual Arts lessons. When asked to capture a black and white image, they produced some amazing shots. #eocclewisham

22.01.2022 Thank you to everyone that voted for Sebastian's video at the end of last term!

21.01.2022 As National Science Week comes to a close, please enjoy this snapshot of Science lessons and experiences that have taken place at EOCC in the past few weeks. Science is a much loved subject at EOCC for students from Kindergarten right through to Year 10. Our teachers do a fabulous job at making the lessons as practical and fun as possible to keep both engagement and enjoyment levels high. Be sure to listen out for the Francis students' laughter! #eocclewisham #eocchoxtonpark

18.01.2022 There’s more to say than R U OK? Today is R U OK? Day, a day to remind us all to take time to start meaningful conversations. However, it’s not always easy to continue the conversation if people say that they’re not ok. The R U OK? Organisation has some great information about how to ask if someone is OK https://www.ruok.org.au/how-to-ask Aquinas Class have spent the past couple of weeks of work experience sessions preparing and marketing a mufti day to promote R U OK? day and raise money for Catholic Care. Students and staff were asked to wear a touch of yellow and Aquinas Class had prepared care packages for all the students. A big thank you to Ms Mayr, Mrs Shanahan and Mr Nick for assisting the students with this initiative.

16.01.2022 Happy Father’s Day to all our amazing EOCC Dads. The students have been busy at school this week preparing tokens of their appreciation for all that you do, so we wanted to show off some of their work. We hope you have a fabulous day celebrating with your families. #eocclewisham

15.01.2022 As part of their Studies in Catholic Thought course, MacKillop class organised and hosted a ’Cup of Kindness’ day on Monday. The students put in a huge effort and worked tirelessly to serve approximately 100 ‘cups’ throughout the day. For their efforts, they raised $200 to donate to Youth Off The Streets! #eocclewisham #cupofkindness #youthoffthestreets

08.01.2022 The students in Teresa class have made a promotional video for the mufti day taking place this Friday, 28 August. The school community has been asked to bring in a gold coin donation to support the Charitable Works Fund, which has seen their funds depleted due to the limited number of people able to attend Church at the moment. This has resulted in many who rely on the support of the Church, going without the help they need. #eocclewisham

08.01.2022 On Friday, we celebrated our recipient of the Archbishop of Sydney’s Award for Student Excellence - Trudi from Aquinas class! This prestigious award is given to young people who make a difference in their school and parish communities, and who are able to demonstrate an active practise of their faith. The award recognises those young people who give witness to their Christian values and show responsible participation in the life, mission, and work of the Catholic faith community. Congratulations to Trudi and her family. #eocclewisham

08.01.2022 Today is the Feast of the Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary, a day we celebrate the birth of Mary. "When you follow her, you will not go astray; When you pr...ay to her, You will not despair; When you think of her, You will not err; When she holds you up, You will not fail; When she protects you, You will not fear." To discover seven things you didn't know about Mary, read our article here: bit.ly/3i9KS02

06.01.2022 Earlier in the term we posted some hints about an exciting new space at EOCC and we are very excited to officially reveal that EOCC is home to a fully functioning Coles mini supermarket! When COVID-19 hit the resulting restrictions heavily impacted our stage 6 work experience program and our regular 7-10 community experiences. Since we are unable to enter the community, the Coles mini supermarket initiative brought the supermarket to us! Students in stage 6 have been tasked w...ith ordering, labelling, picking and delivering stock, preparing data for uploading into the check out machine and keeping the space COVID safe. The rest of the school has been visiting at any chance they can get to practise shopping and all the skills that go along with that process. We are so very grateful to the team at Coles that donated the equipment and time to set up this amazing space. The students (and teachers - let’s be honest) are thrilled with the space and pretty chuffed about the fact that there’s an actual Coles at school! #eocclewisham

06.01.2022 Thank you to Sydney Catholic Schools for preparing an amazing promotional video for our College. This will feature on our new website, that will hopefully be ready to launch some time next term. #eocclewisham

04.01.2022 Today we honor the Solemnity of the Assumption of Mary, a day of Holy obligation for the Catholic Church. By looking at Mary’s Assumption into Heaven we understand better that even though our daily life may be marked by trials and difficulties, it flows like a river to the divine ocean, to the fullness of joy and peace. We understand that our death is not the end but rather the entrance into life that knows no death. Our setting on the horizon of this world is our rising at the dawn of the new world, the dawn of the eternal day. Pope Benedict XVI : Nicolas Poussin - The Assumption of the Virgin (Public Domain)

04.01.2022 Last week in recognition of NAIDOC week, Ms Lisa (one of our fabulous LSOs) visited some of our classes. As a proud descendent of the Wiradjuri people from Forbes in South Western NSW, Ms Lisa graciously shared her culture with us, much to the delight of the students. Thank you Ms Lisa! Pictured are students from Clare class enjoying Ms Lisa’s presentation. #eocclewisham #naidocweek

02.01.2022 A great big thank you to Bunnings Warehouse Australia Ashfield for their generous donation to our Groundskeeping Work Experience Group. With the removal of external work experience due to COVID restrictions, our year 11 and 12 students have created a new work group caring for and establishing new sustainable gardens around the school. On 3rd September the Activities Officer at Ashfield Bunnings, Florida Geronimo, donated Bunnings hats, gloves and shovels - a great help as we get this new group established, and just in time for Spring. Thank you. #eocclewisham

01.01.2022 Congratulations to Gabriel class! Today they led a mufti day to raise money for a cause close to their hearts. These students initiated, researched and promoted the cause to support the work Caritas is doing in Beirut, following the recent explosion. It is wonderful to see our students care and give. Update: Gabriel class raised $265 for Caritas! #eocclewisham
