21.01.2022 I feel quite privileged. Both these birds came in to have a bath and drink in my garden yesterday. I was working in the garden, taking dead roses off the bushes. Turned around and found both birds were at the bath, less than a metre away from me. So I stood there for awhile, talking to the dog etc, and the birds were quite happy to come so close to me. Obviously they appeciate the fresh water and bath I put out for them. I know the Magpies know me, and are happy to not move off when I am gardening. Just unaware that the Mudlarks also recognise me. Note the photo taken inside the house, from my viewing window. No edits whatsoever, i just resized it to 170kb to suit FB files .

17.01.2022 I have been very busy with my Tax Practice work since mid January, and finally decided I will end my Career of 35 years in Tax on March 31st. Hopefully with the cooler weather I will, and with more free time, get out and about again looking for those Birds I want to capture- ie the Great Egret, and the Torqoise Parrots. (The latter was spotted at Sumsion Gardens in Wodonga, not absolutley sure this is the correct species, but it was the most beatiful Aqua, blue colour)

17.01.2022 The baby Mudlark was back again having a bath this morning. Just adorable.

14.01.2022 A lovely poser.

13.01.2022 Another group of photos of the dying Dahlia posted on my Art Page. think they are stunning. Beauty is in the eye of the beholder.

11.01.2022 I left it all just a bit too late to go out and photograph some of our stunning trees, in all their Autumn Glory. Majority have lost their leaves, but I found a few, in and around central Albury.

11.01.2022 I can see beauty everwhere, but can you see what I see ?

09.01.2022 Biggest Moth I have ever seen. I thought it was a Butterfly, rarely see either.

06.01.2022 The Sony HX300 has these functions 'in camera'. Just take any photo, then the camera can convert it to these other modes. I guess it is the Artist in me that likes this function. I do not do many Watercolour paintings, as my Art has focused on realism, and Watercolours do not lend themseves to that style.

04.01.2022 I rarely see Moths or Butterflies in my patch, so here's the first one in years. Photos cropped, taken with different functions, lucky Moth was not interested, engrossed in what it was doing.

04.01.2022 You may recall I said these two little birds scared all other birds away from the bath. They were monopolising the Bird Bath again last week, were there for almost an hour, sunbaking, cooling down etc. Finally Mr Magpie arrived and he wanted a drink, first there was squirmish as Mudlarks chased him away. Then Magpie attacked, flew in and knocked baby Mudlark off the bath, onto the ground, had his claws around it, pecking, then kicking it. I rushed out, both flew off with Magp...ie in pursuit. I heard loads of sqwaking for ages but could not see any of the 3 of them. I'm only game to tell the story today, after I feared baby Mudlark had not survived. But here they are again, at the Birdbath just now, and obviously not learnt any lessons, both attacked the Turtle Dove knocking it flying. I have never seen such an aggressive bird. That is them, I checked the markings, the behaviour is also a give away. See more

04.01.2022 Macro photo of the tiny Agapanthus Flowers, using my dear old Canon EOS 400D.

01.01.2022 He was having a very thorough scrub at the bath today. Get a load of those eyes.
