06.01.2022 Chiltern and Eldorado residents may see or smell smoke from the ignition of two planned burns tomorrow, Thursday 1 April. The Chiltern Gravel Pit Track (409-...hectares) and Eldorado - Davitts Swamp Road (183-hectares) planned burns aim to reduce the spread and intensity of bushfires near Chiltern, Eldorado and surrounding communities. Edgars Track, Gravel Pit Track, Bear Track and PX Road will be closed while the Chiltern burn is being carried out. Davitt’s Swamp Road, Reedy Creek Road and Mulls Firetrail will also be closed for public safety during the Eldorado burn. Forest Fire Management Victoria carries out this work to reduce fuel loads, making it more likely that firefighters can contain bushfires before they spread and impact on people, property and the environment. We understand that smoke from planned burns may cause concern for some people, but we are taking every opportunity to burn while forest and weather conditions allow and it’s safe to do so. To find out when and where planned burns are happening near you, go to or sign up at www.vic.gov.au/plannedburns or call 1800 226 226. 01.01.2022 The past few years have thrown fires, floods and storms at us, on top of drought and a pandemic. We want to hear from you! This is an opportunity for community ...members to debrief around the events of the past few years, and other emergency events that they might face. That information will help communities and Council determine what gaps exist when dealing with adverse events. It’ll also be an opportunity to talk to your local CFA, the Red Cross, SES, Headspace, Gateway Health, Into Our Hands and other local services about what they can do to help before, during, or after an emergency event. We’ll be holding sessions all around the Rural City to try and give you the best chance to come and have a chat to us. Coffee, tea and refreshments will be available, and booking is ESSENTIAL because of Covid. Please register your interest here: https://bit.ly/3cUzllm

01.01.2022 PLEASE NOTE If you require something from our store and we don’t recognise you, we will ask you where you’re from and require photo identification Please be honest or you will be asked to leave!... This IS NOT A JOKE so please don’t treat us like fools, this is hard for everyone & protecting ‘OUR’ community is our number 1 priority Stay safe & remember we’re all in this together Thank you for understanding & being patient in these hard times

01.01.2022 Yay it's open...
