25.01.2022 Hope everyone had a great Christmas and New Years. Thanks to everyone for the support over the last year, it was a great start to business. . We got away to New Zealand for a long overdue get together with family.

23.01.2022 Havent done this for a while. Little bit rusty, coffee and an hour later, have just done a conversion for a client from wireless remotes to wired. Just finishing off the schematics for their reference.

22.01.2022 Its been a week for air conditioning and a whole lot more to come. Heres a few ltiile happy snaps of what weve been up too.

22.01.2022 And another air con fault. Not going cold. Connected gauges. Very low on gas. System had just been serviced 2 months ago!!! Quick visual inspection huge leak at the back of compressor, reclaimed what was left. Started to dismantle to inspect why it was leaking and the bolts holding the pipes onto the compressor were only finger tight. New O rings cleaned up pads and compressor. Leak test and new dryer. On their merry way

22.01.2022 A bit of fun on this one, called out to a failed junction block, the stars were aligned for this one. The block was between the cab and the frame, requiring the step to be half removed to gain access, and of course have to love working in puddles. Upon gaining acesss it turned out that one nut on the junction block wasnt there. Managed to cut the nuts off to remove and replace.

17.01.2022 Simple trailer lights........ not here. This is referred to as an 11 line, as it has 11 lines of 8 wheels (poor tyre fitters...) used for over sized loads as per the sign.... Called out to this to check over and repair the lights and check the starting/glow system on the donkey engine (Used to raise or lower the trailer and alter the dimensions). Also checked out the auto grease systems, which for some reason this one had self destructed the pumping mechanism, and fitted a new timer as the old one had issues. Enjoy these jobs as we get free range, as in fix anything you find that looks like it may cause a problem in the future and the use of quality components for repair. Will probably see this when it gets back next time as these get a hard life and become very expensive when they stop.

15.01.2022 Sometimes things dont go to plan, we dont get mad we get even, it was coming out if it liked it or not....

14.01.2022 How to find a short. Step 1. insert progressively bigger fuses until wire heats up and melts the tape off your harness and bonds with other wires. Step 2. Follow melted wiring until it stops and presto youve found your short...... Or you can call us and we can trace it without so much damage and cost.

13.01.2022 We gave the boys and girls up Rolleystone Volunteer Firies a bit of a helping hand back in June. With the help of a few other businesses as well. We were asked to help out with fitting of electrical accessories. Kept Junior Sparks busy for a few days running wiring through out and mounting components. Wired up a Beacon, Rear Roadvision work lamps fitted a Roadvision 22 light bar into the bumper, Fitted a second battery under the drivers seat and a battery charging point. A few extra Cigarette sockets to charge up radios, phones and keep the fridge running. Great to be able to help them out

12.01.2022 So this was how my day started today...... Luckily nothing to valuable gone, spent ages on the phone trying to get a new piece of glass, 4 day wait until someone could fix it!!! Bit of a joke when you can do that sort of thing in an hour. Ended up doing it myself. Anyway life goes on, hope karma catches up with you!! Some of us work while some steal for your next hit. BTW the light you stole will only be good for 3 hours, message me if you would like the charger

12.01.2022 Just because everyone loves flashing lights

11.01.2022 You cant fix everything..... Had a look through this John Deere 315SG with an electronically controlled fuel pump. Client had only owned it for a month. It Had a few fault codes and missing engine RPM and temperature from the dash. Things seemed a bit too weird with missing data from the Network, and writing on the ECM. Machine ran well. So suggested the customer contact the dealer. Caught up with him again later in the week and is seems it has had the ECM replaced and incorrect software installed, being dealers they had access to all of this and had it rectified quickly. Half the job can be knowing where to draw the line when your expertise and tooling ability finishes and being able to pass the job on.

09.01.2022 A bit of love for the trusty workhorse. After recently fitting a catch can, was time for a clean out of the inlet manifold, new set of injectors, timing belt and water pump. Very impressive just how much these block up over time

09.01.2022 Interesting job that went bad The other day. Clients saw, few little electrical problems, that turned into something more. Unable to crank the engine over after being parked up for a year or so, suffered a bit of water ingress through the exhaust port. Removed the head and piston rusted into the bore. Few more bolts and had the rest of the engine or and off for some love.

08.01.2022 Leading up to the State Election back in 2017, the then WA Labor opposition went in with a policy that if they installed in government, bushfire brigades would ...receive a gifting grant of $30,000 to go towards non-operational items. At Roleystone, it was heavily debated on what we would spend it for and eventually decided that the best way to assist the brigade was to purchase a 14 seat bus. This bus is pivotal in moving our cadets around, assisting with training nights to move personnel and equipment, and transporting firefighters for relief crews just to name a few. It has been a long project in the making but we would like to pass our thanks to the following people for donating their time and/or products. Shane at Baxters Perth for donating work lights, LED light bar fuse holders and accessory plugs. Stu from Electromechanics donated time and consumables to install all the accessories. Matt from Diesel Torque Mechanical Services for supplying consumables, mechanical support and his workshop to fit out the bus. Matt has supported many Volunteer fire brigades especially Roleystone for many years and we thank him for his generous and ongoing support.

08.01.2022 The good ol give it a tap........ probably bit too much of a tap. Love some of the stuff I see

08.01.2022 Busy few weeks just been. Got this job sorted over the weekend. Western Star and Dolly checked over. Client has fitted a new Grease system to this 10 Line float, and supplied a control system however it wasnt intended to do what we wanted it to do. Pressure switch modifications and a lockout system to prevent the Grease pumping out should it blow a line.

06.01.2022 Busy few days. Complete marker light change out to ADR requirements, this European specialised trailer required a refit. All lights re-spaced and correct colour and visibility angles. Also on the cards an Ice pack air conditioning system. (Auxillary Power Unit or air conditioning system for the cab when you dont have your main engine running) had had a few patch ups, needed a bit of a birthday. Replaced a row of relays and a new set of belts and ready to run again.

06.01.2022 Bit of a love job from the weekend. Toyota V8 turboed with an aftermarket ECM, fitted to a sprint boat. Having re-plugged the engine harness and discovering that only half the engine was firing, had a look at this, found one of the coil packs connected into the bilge pump circuit. Corrected the fault and now firing on all 8.

06.01.2022 We had a client that was very lucky to still have a truck, the equipment on it and a few other vehicles parked beside it. Fuses are cheap and plentiful, always make sure you use them and apply them correctly!!!! The batteries were still nearly fully charged when I arrived. An employee discovered the fire at 530 in the morning when he arrived at work and was lucky to be able to extinguish. Damage was limited to a 1.5 meter section, but had burnt through fuel and brake/clutch lines, have managed to get truck running and everything operational, just waiting on brake and fuel lines to be completed before final fit of the wiring harness.

06.01.2022 Little pre Christmas job. Having been parked up ocean side for a year, and then recovered back to Perth. She wasnt too happy. Changed out battery and isolator, and added a solar panel to the roof to keep it topped up. And then on to the air conditioning, having not run for a while, the clutch was rusted up running the compressor continuously, so new compressor and dryer and leak test and found 3 failed crimps, all gassed up and icy cold.

05.01.2022 Another Drake another Dollar. We got called out to thi one yesterday, electrical stuff usually isn’t that exciting to look at, as you cant usually see electrical faults. However this one was a bit different. The fuel solenoid on the donkey engine had a moment and blew itself to bits, after replacement there was a bit of work to get the fuel system bled up.

05.01.2022 Wow. What a week. Acco concrete truck throttle control faults, found a plug just a little bit corroded causing the ECM to think that I had a failed throttle position sensor. Toyota land cruiser with a refrigerant leak inside the cab. Finished off the day with a lighting fault on a 13 Line platform so they can head of in the morning. Hope everyone has a great long weekend

05.01.2022 A crazy few weeks of late. Mack Metroliner starting issue, having intermittent starting issues had been chasing this fault for a long time having been told the starter had already been replaced in the last 18 months, mudguards off, fuel filter out, harnesses out of the way, finally got it out and the starter was the factory unit, Changed it out and starting nicely again. Caterpillar C15 starter motor old vs new. Had to be careful with getting the old one out as it was so heavy. New unit half the size and weight and more power, they actually give you guidelines as to the maximum battery sizes!!!

04.01.2022 Air conditioning well under way now. Had this MAN truck last week. Cabin blower had failed. Had to degas the air con system remove the wipers and linkages and finally the air conditioning evaporator just to access the blower!!! Priced up genuine parts, stupidly expensive!!!! Managed scource aftermarket parts and not break the fragile blowers and got the whole job done with travel to and from site for under the cost of a genuine part!!

04.01.2022 Had a bit of a run on kenworth trucks lately. T909, T904 & T404s various no start Falls and intermittent power issues. New set of Bosch batteries to go into the first one. As you can see the originals didnt get much love. Intermittent power issues on the second one traced to a failed joint inside the harness, causing all power to the can to drop off and hence the engine stopping!! (1 million plus kilometres though so not too bad)

03.01.2022 Just finished setting up this one. Brand New Toyota Hilux fitted with a Bull motor body canopy. 120w of solar fed to a 66AH Bosch DC24 second battery via a redarc 1225D, also with a battery link for those tricky situations where you have a flat battery. Plenty of power available for him to charge batteries for work and keep the fridge run running cold

03.01.2022 So weve been a little busy over the last few weeks, with the apprentice getting a crash course with the installation of lights and radios, and yes Ive had a couple of extra helpers too. This Ute came in with a new body fitted, we had to install all the extras into the rear, such as radios and lights and power supplies for inverters, lights and radios. Was a great exercise for him, the most important lesson was that you cant ever have enough aerials or lights EVER

03.01.2022 So next time you are planning on using 24v to jump start a 12v machine, make sure your spurs are firmly earthed, your cowboy hat set at 5degrees to the west, and you will be fine. Unfortunately for this customer it didnt work as intended, after attempting a 24v jumpstart to try and get his Hyundai excavator going he had a few more issues with fuses blowing, traced short to a failed diode in the back of the instrument cluster. Managed to perform some keyhole surgery to replace the diode and supplied and installed a new battery and it was gold. Having pleased the customer i loaded my saddle bags up and rode off into the sunset

02.01.2022 Another Drake another Dollar. We got called out to thi one yesterday, electrical stuff usually isnt that exciting to look at, as you cant usually see electrical faults. 01.01.2022 Well, its been quiet here but busy out there!!! One from the other week, an old Komatsu WA500, seems I was sparky number 3 on this one, with the others not wanting to call him back. Lost all gears, spent a good chunk of time on this working out what others had done and bypassed etc, managed to get the machine going both forwards and backwards with 3 speeds on the first visit, and all gears upon second visit replacing a failed connector, among many other faults repaired to get to this stage, one happy farmer....

01.01.2022 Finishing off the day with a few air conditioning performance tests and repairs, checking both the dual cabin Main engine driven systems and Ice Pack. Using smart temperature probes to take accurate real time temperature and humidity measurements to check and get your gas levels and system performing to the best of its ability.

01.01.2022 Bit of an early start the other day (for a sparky anyway). Excavator went down the day earlier but was stuck sorting out another job. Whole aircon system was intermittently cutting out. Of course when I get there it is working, bit of a wriggle and a pull and it all came to an end, then found this little classic
