And I didn't ever have a rug on him....even in the hot weather. 24.01.2022 I was looking through my photo files on my computer the other day and thought I'd share this with you all. This photo was taken in 2014, and later became the inspiration for our logo. In the back is Oakwood Park Golden Gryphon, and the front is Oakwood Park Royal Phoenix - the first two foals we had by Scolinda Macka Dreams (bred by Belinda at Scolinda Stud!). As you can see they're only just shedding their winter woolies here, but being palominos they go lovely and gold i...n summer when fed a balanced diet. When making our logo, I wanted it to be personal, not just a generic horse icon. So between this photo, and a colour scheme that feels a little palomino to me, our golden logo was born!

As we will be spending time with friends and family (and hopefully you are too!) we will be closed on Christmas Eve to the Boxing Day Public Holiday, New Years Eve and New Years Day. 18.01.2022 What can cause Photosensitivity in horses? A common cause is coming to contact with or eating toxic plants that contain chemicals / toxins including some that a...re fungal and bacterial in origin. Excessive consumption of clover or lucerne can also be a cause. This then is affected by the UV light, causing a condition that looks like sunburn. What part of the horse will it effect? Affected areas are usually those that are lightly pigmented or that have little hair, such as the lips, white face markings or white socks. If this condition that is affecting your horse & it is from a toxin or fungal issue, they Elitox is very effective in removing a broad range of toxins from the horse. The toxins are extreamly bad this year, with all the rain following a drought period. You can feed a double dose if your horse is effected by toxins. Daily dose of elitox is 10-15g per day, a dose of BAM+ conatins around 10g per 120g dose. Below is a photo of the Oakbank Racecourse in the 1950s, but the races themselves have been runnings since 1876. These days the Onkaparinga Pony Club and Riding For The Disabled SA also use the racing grounds. ... Still historical (but not quite as old!) is the Oakwood Park Indoor Arena, built in the 1960's it's the state's first indoor arena. Oakwood Park is still operating as an agistment centre and the home base of Elite Equine Essentials. Even the seats at the rear of Oakwood Park's arena are historical too - horsehair cinema seats that were removed and repurposed from the Oakbank Soldiers Memorial Hall in years gone by.
