16.01.2022 Prostate cancer is the most commonly diagnosed cancer in men in Australia with almost 20,000 diagnoses and close to 3,500 deaths each year. 06.01.2022 Had a chat with @louisemomber on @9newsperth about a new observational study conducted by Edith Cowan Uni on veggie consumption and heart health. . . The author...s found that consumption of just 45g or 1/4- 1/2 cup of cruciferous veggies (eg broccoli, cabbage, Brussels sprouts) per day reduced build up of fatty calcium deposits on the subjects aorta by 46% compared to those who ate little or no cruciferous veggies! . . Calcification, or build-up of fatty calcium deposits on our arteries and veins is a major risk factor for Australia biggest killer...cardiovascular disease. When only 7% of Aussies eat our recommended serves of veggies, I think its time to up all veggies...and make sure you include some cruciferous one too. Well done to the 684 ladies that participated in the study. See more
